Okay, so speaking as a person who has solo-travelled themselves in the past, the amount of money spent on this trip could have easily lasted 2/3 weeks longer than it did if I had organised if myself. There are also a lot of travel and chill days which are set out in the itinerary which takes a lot of time away from the tour itself. The only upside was the people we met and our tour guides. We had a great time with our group and our tour guide Darrin was always with us telling us things that we could do and see locally that might be of interest. If we didn't want to do something we just told him and he'd take us somewhere else or plan something else for us. Even though Darrin was just training to be a tour guide it is very clear that he will be an amazing tour guide when he starts them by himself. He likes to party hard and he loves to work hard too, which I personally think is the best balance you can get for a tour guide.

I have recently returned home from the 14 day Thailand island hopper tour & I couldn’t recommend it enough! I had never travelled solo or to Asia before so I figured booking a group tour for half of my time in Thailand would be a great & safe idea and I was not disappointed! The whole tour exceeded my expectations and I would do anything to re live it all again! It’s truly one of the best things I have ever done and I already want to book another Tru Travels tour for next year! I loved all of the places we visited, it was a great mix of planned activities and free time, my favourite places however would have to be Koh Sok NP, Bottle beach & Phi Phi! As quite a shy person I felt a little nervous starting the tour, however this completely changed once I met the amazing tour guides and rest of the group! Mickey and Arthur are amazing at what they do, and the tour just wouldn’t have been the same without them! The whole group adored them so much and they really went above & beyond to make sure we have an amazing trip! The post tru travels blues definitely kicked in as soon as the tour was over and I don’t think they will ever go!

Pinky was our tour guide leader and she gave us the best experience we could of had. She was s knowledgeable of Vietnam, of every place we went! As well as being one of the kindest people I have ever met. If I needed anything she would do eveyrthing she could to make it happen. The tour was incredible it had such a wide spectrum of different things that we did. From drinking to then experiencing some culture and mad activities and as well. There wasn’t anything I didn’t enjoy. I also made some friends for life on this tour people who were on the tour as well as me but as well Pinky. She honestly couldn’t of done a better job, I felt safe secure and happy. She had us all constantly laughing and she is a great addition to the company. Would fully recommend this tour to anyone

I had such a brilliant time in Bali! So many amazing activities including a balinese cooking class at a local family’s home; snorkelling where we saw turtles; rice terraces and temples with a local guide who was hilarious but also very knowledgeable and I learnt a lot about the Balinese culture which was great.
Our tour guide, Freddie, was such a nice guy. He made everyone in the group feel so comfortable and what we wanted to do was always top priority. Any questions we had were always answered straight away. Everything was very well organised and all the restaurants, bars and hotels we visited were perfect. The final destination of the tour is Gili T which was so much fun and I actually ended up staying there for a few days after the tour finished. Because I was travelling alone, I chilled with Freddie (who was also staying longer) and his friend from home (who was visiting) which was really appreciated.
I think the tour had the perfect balance of culture and party and would 100% recommend booking with trutravels - I now want to do one of the Philippines tours with them in the future.

Enjoyable trip of the South of Vietnam. Absolutely loved our tour guide Pinky she made the trip so enjoyable!! She’s very knowledgeable and would do anything for everyone. She made sure everyone was having fun and involved. Always kept us up to date with what was happening next and was just a star!

Trip was what was expected on the itinary provided. There was a good mix of activities throughout the tour which enabled us to experience the local culture e.g. lantern making, bamboo baskets etc.

We visited a range of restaurants selected by Pinky which were all super and the menus provided a range of options allowing something for everyone!

The accommodation was good with a mix of hostels and hotels which all of a very good standard.

I would recommend the trip to others especially with Pinky as a guide!!!

Amazing trip taking in all of Vietnam made all the better did to our guide Pinkys local knowledge and recommendations additional to the itinerary in each place. Completely non-stop but everything ran smoothly and most importantly was great fun.
Wide range of activities to match the wide range of things available on Vietnam. This tour does follow the traditional tourist route up the country and so is not off the beaten track but this is also positive as it gives more opportunities for things to do.
Pinky was always professional and gave me particular insight into the country's culture and way of working including onward travel information after I decided to extend my Vietnamese trip because I loved the country so much.
Would love to go back to the country but would love to go with the trutravels group again even more.

I went on the 17 day Vietnam trip in January with Pinky and Darrin. Both amazing tour guides! I had sooo much fun and would highly recommend this tour to everyone.

The tour had a variety of activities and there is something for everyone from cooking class, cliff jumping, kayaking, caving, orientation walks, bike tours, basket boats, beach days etc etc!! I loved every minute of it!!!

Pinky was very knowledgable and showed us all there was to know about Vietnam! I am now looking in to other Trutravels trips because of my excellent experience on this one! I can’t wait!!

Advice for others is that take a risk and do this tour on your own! It is fun, it is jam packed and you will 100% meet so many incredible people along the way!! Have fun!

This tour was amazing. I have done 3 travel tour and this was by far my favourite. It has amazing things to do an experience which are a hell of a lot of fun as well as so much time to meet loads of different people. Would fully recommend. Pinky an amazing tour guide and has so much experience and knowledge. Darrin is also an amazing tour guide and again has a lot of experience. Both made the tour great and would not of had a good time with out them there. Made us feel safe secure and if we needed anything could go to them!

You do so many different activities and get to experience a whole range of things to do, if you like drinking or not drinking this is included. But if you don’t then it is fine becaus there is options each day to do whatever suits you best. If you don’t want to do an activity you don’t have to and they can provide you with different activity that you want to do

I had the most incredible adventure on this tour. I cannot recommend this experience enough, seriously 10/10. The way TruTravels put the days together with so many activities is perfect, you really feel like you are making the most of every minute. The tours on the trip are breathtaking and you experience once in a lifetime moments throughout. Our guides Pompom and Art are true Thai Gentleman and made sure we all had the best time. Pompom and Art have a strong knowledge of the history of Thailand and buddhism plus they are also good fun to be around and hangout with. I turned 30 on the trip and the guides and group made sure I had the best birthday. The group were amazing all of us from ages between 18 to 33 and from all walks of life. It was great to meet new people and I believe I've made some friends for life. Thank you TruTravels for putting together the most incredible tour and great team to go with it.

Our 10 day Bali tour was fantastic, and bettered by our super attentive group leader Nelly; he did a great job of keeping us all informed of the activities we’d be doing, timings, things we could do in our down time and also getting involved with us, which was great. He was great fun to be around and really went above and beyond my expectations of a group leader.

I had a great 10 days and made some really great friends on this trip. We were all from the UK so we’ll certainly plan to meet up once everyone is back home from their travels - it’s just a shame that Nelly won’t also be there to join in!

My highlights of the trip were the (optional/additional) volcano hike which was definitely worth the 1am wake up calls, as well as the snorkelling trip in the Gili Islands. Although it’s really hard to single out any specific part as I loved every moment!

It was a long walk to the hotel on Gili so be prepared to be hot and sweaty in the heat, but once you’re checked in you have a bike to explore the island at your leisure. It’s a bit cheeky of TruTravels to advertise a bike ride as an activity as bikes are available to you the whole time you are on the island, however it did mean we had more leisure time in Gili and some of us used this to go paddle boarding and chill by the beautiful beaches the island has to offer - with some amazing sunsets!

I had a fantastic experience and made some great friends on this tour. I’d recommend it to anyone, and already have done upon my return home!

I’d never been on an organised tour like this and am therefore used to organising everything myself. I felt a bit of unease about the lack of pre-departure info from TruTravels (it does come eventually but not before the panic sets in that you don’t know all the details). Some of this could come sooner just to put worriers and organisers (like me) at ease. Once you are there though you realise you don’t need to worry about a thing, I don’t think I’ll ever want to organise it myself again!
