Excellent Experience

If you're considering doing an internship abroad in Australia, this program is great! It was so nice having a place to stay with other interns, included transportation and included experiences for the weekends. I absolutely loved interning in Melbourne and I can't wait to return someday. Thanks to The Intern Group, I learned so much about Australia as well as my field. This internship has given me experience that will prove to be very valuable as I advance in my career. So much fun!

What would you improve about this program?
The accommodation would be better if it was moved to a location where it was students and interns only. This would make week nights much more fun and exciting rather than trying to ward off homesickness.

Review

It was great! Got a great musical tour of the city and met so many cool people! Huge shoutout to the Dublin team for being amazing and friendly!
Everyone pointed out the historical landmarks and talked about how Dublin evolved. The walking tour of the city especially was incredible. EPIC Ireland might be the greatest museum in the world. Temple Bar is practically daylight robbery. End of review.

Great Experience

It was a great experience. I had the opportunity to work in the perfect environment for me. It really helps me to improve so many skills. During the internship I've learnt a lot. However, the best part was meeting amazing people who shared with me amazing moments. I really love the multicultural atmosphere of the program. Probably, the worst part of the program was the accommodation: it was really small and quite far away from the centre of the city ( I reckon it could be done something for this). The Intern Group's staff was amazing!

What would you improve about this program?
Changing the accommodation!

Amazing experience

I had an amazing time doing a 2 and a half month long internship over in Melbourne.
The company I was placed with was great, they helped teach me so much more about the industry I was interested in and always made sure to offer any help I needed or take time to teach me new things. As well as this they also fully treated me as part of the team, taking my opinions into consideration over projects or during meetings and inviting me out with them after work, I wasn't just stuck in the corner making coffee!
The intern group itself was really great and extremely supportive, they were always a email/message/call away and did everything they could to help you out if you needed it and the events and trips out they arranged were all awesome!
I cannot recommend this program enough, I had an amazing experience and I have made friends for life, all while exploring a beautiful city.

I can't even title this but: Amazing.

Like pretty much everyone else, I really don't know how to start, because this has been one of the most amazing experiences ever. So I'll just go ahead and divide it.

Personal aspects: I'm from the Dominican Republic, so in College you don't usually move from your parents place. ( For an independence reference ). It was my first time moving to a different country, adapting to a new culture, managing my own budget and technically living by myself, I say technically because along the way you meet amazing people that are going through the same thing and create friends for a lifetime from a lot of different cultures. For me it was very easy to adapt, and Madrid is seriously one of the most "Livable" cities in the world in my opinion.

Fun, Travel, Going out: Whether you're there for 6 weeks or 6 months I'm sure you'll have the best time of your life, Traveling to other countries can get as cheap as €50 and to other cities in Spain for as low as €10. Madrid's nightlife is full of everything, from 7 floor clubs to tiny amazing tapas bars. Strolling through El Retiro Park, Shopping (Or window shopping) around Sol, Gran vía or Serrano were some of my favorite things to do.

Program Staff and Interviews: Since day 1, The intern Group was very responsible, committed to deadlines and always in contact with me. Once I was accepted Lalita got in touch and everything flowed accordingly. If you make your part as you should, they will too. Everything that was said to be offered by the program was done as promised and 24/7 contact was available no matter what,

Activities: Irene is the most charming person you'll meet in Spain, I swear! She made the most of the included activities and was super able to accommodate everyone's schedule. (By now you should be able to tell how picky I am)

Workplace: My Internship placement was amazing from the interview to the moment I left, I was very involved in the activities in my office and was able to produce content that has been published by the brands I was involved with. I learned so much about myself in the professional aspect and opened my eyes to a whole new world of the Makerting & PR areas that I hadn't had experience in. The work schedule in Madrid is always amazing, no matter what company you're working for, so don't be scared. I was just interviewed by this company, because from the moment I had my interview I was very pleased with their philosophy and work.

Housing: Just 4 days before my arrival I wasn't in full agreement with the conditions and Lalita and Irene managed to rearrange everything to meet my expectations, and I have to say they were surpassed. The apartment was big, in an amazing area and It had all we needed. I got to visit some of the other apartments where the interns usually stay and they were great too! (Seriously, Imagine living right at Puerta del Sol, amazing.)

Others: I would really recommend going in Spring or Fall because it's the best weather, Summers are VERY hot and winters get REALLY cold.

In general, I wouldn't recommend this program to someone who just wants to chill and party. The Intern Group provides you with high quality hands on internships that will help you grow professionally and personally in many aspects. For me a Latin American recent Uni Graduate, it was the best choice I made, and would do it a million times more. (If growing up was a choice, and I wouldn't need to go back to real life)

Talking about growing up, lets talk about life AFTER the internship:
I've been home for 3 weeks now and job offers have been way easier for me to find and get, I've had options to choose from, and my internship is always a highlight in my resumé.

I hope the choice you make changes your life and perspective as much as it did to me! International experience in 2018 is something super valued and opening your mind and soul to these things will sure be memories to tell for a lifetime.

What would you improve about this program?
Nothing really, maybe during the interview process to be asked some more specific questions about cultural beliefs or requirements. But like I mentioned before, there was nothing that was unsolved for me.

Intern Group Review

The Intern Group has been a great experience for me both for my career aspirations and a cultural experience. I have genuinely noticed several improvements in my academic ability after doing the internship at a law firm in downtown Chicago, namely my improvement in my analytical skills. TIG is a great opportunity for anyone thinking about getting good international vocational experience and can really set you apart from other competitors in interview process!

Best Thing I’ve Ever Done

This programme gave me not only invaluable work experience, but allowed me to develop as a person. I met some amazing people both on the programme and in and around Chicago!
I would recommend this programme to almost everyone.
This internship gave me something to talk about in interviews as well as practical experience. They also ran a workshop on how to maximise the opportunity run by our experience coordinator. The support she gave me on the programme helped me make the most of the experience and avoid any home sickness.
My favourite memory was going to the top of Willis Tower (included in the programme) with everyone in my flat. It was terrifying but so funny and a memory I will treasure forever.

What would you improve about this program?
The only improvement I would make would be to get in touch with my flatmates before I flew out. However, I made this recommendation and it was acted upon almost immediately.

Great Experience

I had the greatest time in NYC during 5 months. Intern Group was able to find me this great internship in a great company with great colleagues. The city is awesome and there are plenty things to do. We had fun events every weekend and explore New York to the full extent. I would also like to thank Brian, Miriam and Nicholas from Intern group for being responsive and kind all the time. I don't think you need second thoughts if you are considering to attend this program. You are going to add a great value to your career and have so much fun!

Intern Group Dublin

Overall, my experience with the Intern Group in Dublin was fantastic. My internship was not exactly what I had intended it to be, but it still turned out to be an incredible opportunity to grow, expand my horizon of experiences, and attempt to make a difference in the community.

My experience was made fantastic by 2 factors, and those were (1) My boss who made every effort to make sure my internship experience was worth my while and enjoyable, and (2) The people at the Intern Group, both faculty and fellow Intern Group participants. The faculty were dedicated to making our internships and our time in Dublin amazing, and I appreciate their efforts. The social gatherings were fun, and some of the people I met through the program are now friends for life.

Lastly, Dublin is an amazing city. The people and the lifestyle are laid back and accepting, and I would definitely recommend spending an extended period of time here, if possible.

A unique, transformative experience!

My three months doing policy research and analysis at an Irish nonprofit were an unparalleled experience! I had been worried about whether or not I'd be getting meaningful experience, since I was a high school graduate on a gap year. The Intern Group did an amazing job matching me with an organisation that made use of / improved the skills I'd learned from my previous internships. The Intern Group spent a tremendous amount of care on making sure that I benefitted from the experience as much as my employers did, which is something I appreciate more than I can say. Living in a house with other interns has more than prepared me for dorm life this fall, and the program staff were always on hand to help with any concerns I had. I will never forget the community that I had the privilege to be a part of during my time in Dublin. I never expected this level of personal or professional development, and I will always remember my three months in Dublin with TIG as three of the best months of my life!

What would you improve about this program?
I really cannot think of any ways that this program can be improved.
