Hi!

I had a 3 months program with The Internship Group. I came to London for many reasons. London is fantastic and I was lucky enough that the company where I was placed had an amazing environment, staff and give me the opportunity to learn new things and to even try to help the staff with my new projects. I'm truly, truly thankful for my time there.

Unfortunately I can't credit The Intern Group for the wanders of London or the perks of my former company. They only charge you and disapear. They have a London based team that only invites you to a Facebook Group, take at least 3 days in answering an email and during the "activities" invites their own friends and wont pay attention to the interns (who btw are paying their salary). And if you really need them for an emergency they will text you back a few hours later.

Although I have to say, your selling team based in Chile were very nice convincing me to be part of your program. No really, they where super polite, even talked with my mom to walk her through the details of the program, answered emails during the same day, even out of their own time zone.

My perception of the program would be so different if only they train / choose better staff in London.

I'm very thankful for what London has given me though.

My degree program has a required Capstone “course” that can be filled either by taking a class, conducting research, or having an internship in the field. The InternGroup was very understanding, matching me with a company that met all of my University programs criteria. It talking with other members in the program, it felt like we were all given individual attention and support to meet our individual goals.

The InternGroup also hosted very fun tourist trips and meals. I liked that the meals were hosted all over the city, and while optional, were great opportunities to meet the other interns from around the world.

Having just secured a full-time job, and gone through the interview process, I know that my international experience made my resume stand out - my time in Hong Kong became a topic of discussion in every interview I had.

I had an extraordinary time in Toronto with the other interns. The people there are very friendly and helpful. The housing was amazing and could not have asked to stay in better accommodation. I met a lot of new friends there and gained some amazing moments with those people. The coordinators in Toronto did such a great job in planing activities and spending there time with us which made this trip an outstanding experience.

The Interngroup placed me into a marketing work field which was a perfect fit for what I was looking for. I learned many countless skills while staying abroad. This is an opportunity of a lifetime and to get the confidence of working in a foreign environment will help me moving forward. I am so glad I was able to gain more knowledge in marketing and got an opportunity for working here full time after the internship.

I prepared for this internship with an outlook of coming home with international experience on my CV and whatever else came with it would be a bonus. My expectations were beyond exceeded with so many new experiences happening at the same time I was really pushed to get out of my comfort zone and as a result have really found my feet as both a designer and a person. I couldn’t recommend this experience enough if you’re looking for some direction in both your career and self-discovery.

Hard work really does pay off, even if the internship ends up being one that you realise isn’t what you want to do. Just gaining experience in the workplace, learning about the structure of a team and the workflow process is valuable experience. Definitely take this opportunity if available to you, it’s like a nurturing hand walking you through the tricky bridge between school and career. It makes the process a lot smoother and supportive. I got offered a job at the end of my internship which was very unexpected, so go for it! Who knows what this experience has in store for you ...

My experience interning for 3 months in Medellín, Colombia was one of the most amazing, wholesome periods of my life. The Intern Group facilitated all of this and were consistently outstanding throughout my time here. My placement incorporated every aspect of what I study and what I enjoy doing as well as a few unrelated topics that enabled me to learn a completely new skillset. My accomodation was excellent beyond words. The furniture and bedding was very comfortable, we had everything we needed, an amazing view of the city, it was located very close to shopping centres, workplace, and transport, and we had a huge pool and jacuzzi within the complex! It was honestly a treat to live there. The Intern Group were always very helpful and efficient with whatever we needed whether it was to do with our placements, accomodation, or general experience. The social aspect of the program was fantastic, we always had something fun to do or top recommendations for where to go and what to eat etc. The events organized by TIG were always culturally insightful and very enjoyable and the professional development workshops were extremely useful for improving my academic and professional skills. There is a huge sense of community among the interns and with the TIG team and I definitely left feeling like a part of me will always remain in Colombia. Every aspect of my internship program organized by The Intern Group allowed me to make the most of my time in Colombia, improve my academic, professional and personal skills, and gain an unforgettable and unparalleled internship experience that I don't believe I would find elsewhere. I 110% recommend this program to anyone who is considering doing an internship!!

My time in Colombia with the intern group has flown by so fast I can hardly believe it, and I have loved every minute of it! The team took a lot of time to find the perfect placements for my self and my fellow interns and were happy to meet with us anytime we had a problem. They were a constant support for us while in Colombia and I am very grateful for all the team did to make our experience as amazing as it was. Our accommodation was in one of the safest areas in Medellin and we were located right next to two of the best malls in the city so we had no problem getting delicious meals or just picking up a few things from the supermarket. The events organised by the experience team were always a treat and I found the professional workshops extremely useful for developing my CV for future job ventures. I am sad to leave both my work and my family here at the Intern Group but I would 100% recommend this programme to anyone thats looking to immerse themselves in a new culture while simultaneously developing their professional skills and profile.

The experience I have got from this programme is extremely valuable and unforgettable, but most of all, it was a big step to the engineering profession. Thanks to this programme, I've got to work with an engineering consultant company. Although I cannot speak Spanish, I received a warm welcome from everyone in this company, and we also worked on a large-scale international project which is very interesting to me who was just a 3rd year engineering student. I have obtained new technical skills and also learnt to work as a team in a real-life project.

Madrid is also a very unique city for me in many ways. Yes, it was hard for me to get used to a lot of things when I was not able to speak Spanish at all. Even so, most true Spaniards are very easy to get along and willing to help others in need. This city is also good for foodies, and I am not talking about Paella as there are so many other Spanish food/drinks that I like and miss so much. Come to find out yourself!

Living in Madrid is also not expensive: just go to any spanish-brand supermarket's website and see for yourself. Eating outside for a "menu del dia" cost about 10 euro. And hey did I mention that Zara is a Spanish company? Madrid is a place for a shopaholic.

The internship experience is generally good! The intern group Colombia found a really good internship host for me. I learnt a lot and utilised my skills in the internship. Medellin is a great city to visit. People are friendly here and the weather is great. The intern group also arranged a Guatape tour, which was fantastic. The staff at the intern group are very attentive. They resolve all the issues in time. Just one little tip, if you want really good accommodation, you can arrange your own. The hotels in Medellin are generally very cheap. It is a good way to boost your hotel elite status ;)

This was a great experience in Hong Kong! The support I received was great and there are weekly activities organised for us to explore our location! This allowed me to establish friendships with people from a variety of backgrounds which made me realize that despite our differences, there are always ways we can connect with one another! I would definitely recommend this program! This program is very international and made me understand how to build a professional circle of your own. I feel like this program allowed me to discover my weaknesses and strengths in a professional sense, which will allow me to develop further as a working professional. There are many industries and areas offered in this program which makes is very suitable for individuals with different career paths!

I'm an Australian and I went on the London program for eight weeks. As a whole I really enjoyed living in London and building a network through my internship but in the end, it is A LOT of money to be spending. For my experience I flipped the bill myself and that really made me think whether I was getting value for money. I did enjoy the career workshops (the career coach is amazing!) and events included in the program but those alone, and the accommodation, should have not totalled to such an amount.

The internship I had was good, the people were amazing, and I learnt a lot. Just be aware if you're contemplating going during the holiday season, it is a slow time of the year. Most companies close (I had about a week off over Christmas and New Year’s) over that time, and the first week back of the New Year can also be a little slow. Just measure your expectations, there won't always be things for you to do.

Regarding the social aspect, the individuals on the actual program were mostly Australian or American (during my time from Dec), but don't let that dishearten you if you're looking for a more international experience. I interned with people from the UK (obviously) and Spain and ended up living with some Germans. No matter which way you look at it, if you put in the effort, you'll meet people from around the world.

Enjoy it while you can because I'm going to be honest, I loved it! Of course, there are going to be pros and cons, but you have to remember you're in LONDON one of the most buzzing cities in the world. There are always things to do and it's amazing. As an intern, I built an international network (my goal) and I learnt a lot about the industry. As a tourist, I'd never been to London and even in its dreary winter state, I fell in love with the city. It really is awesome!

In the end I'd really recommend doing the program if you're looking to work internationally in the future, just be prepared to fork out the funds.
