An Unforgettable Experience

This internship through The Intern Group has been my second work abroad experience and my fifth international experience in general. In other words, I'm no stranger to the international experience. However, that doesn't mean this time around hasn't been less fun than my previous ones, because that's simply not true. This internship was a perfect fit for me and it was just what I was looking for. The Intern Group helped me find my dream placement and the work I've been involved in is exactly what I wanted. Also, I was able to work in my favorite city, London! They were helpful throughout the whole process and that made all the difference. A truly unforgettable experience and one that I wouldn't go back on. I'd do it all over again... and again and again!

An incredible and eye opening experience!

My internship was a role in PR/Marketing which was a perfect balance between office admin work and events where it was mainly socializing and meeting clients. I would say I was greatly exposed to both the office work environment and the events side of the job. The office work was more academically challenging but after being in the company for so long and with such great colleagues I never felt stressed out or that it was not manageable. The entire experience was incredible and eye opening.

The intern group were always diligent and efficient in replying to any emails not just during the application and visa processes but also whilst being in Hong Kong. They are always willing to help especially the co-coordinator of the intern group HK who is always just a phone call away.

I would definitely do this again and recommend it to other friends. I met the most lovely people and the city is amazing, I extended my stay for another three months as I loved the experience so much. Its hard to describe just how incredible this experience has been. Definitely broadens your horizon and outlook in life as cliche as itv may sound.

Best decision I have ever done...

I am an university student in Mexico and I was looking for study abroad program but instead I found The Intern Group. I went to London to work in an Influencer Marketing company and I can say this gave me a big idea of how the professional world really works. Most of the people I worked with were from England and that helped me to improve my language skills and to get to know more their culture.

The Intern Group really cares about the whole experience you are having. You don´t have to worry about anything at all, they have everything under control so you could enjoy every single minute, not only in the company you are working for but the city in which you are living. The accomodation, the internship, the attention you get from the moment you arrive, the feedback from the internships, everything is soo good. I had very good housemates, the supermarket, the train station, the bus stop and also my internship was so close to my home and that was amazing. They organize some events in which you can meet other interns and that is great because you can get new friends from all over the world.

I had so many good things to say about what I had lived and not enought words to explain it. This internship have changed my life, I have leaned more that I could ever imagine not only in a professional way but in a personal one as well and basically it was the best decision I have ever done.

What would you improve about this program?
It is excellent but the only thing I did not like is the company that provides the houses, this other company have serious problems with the way they organize their information and that makes The Intern Group and the Interns to get confuse and sometimes have bad experiences.

The Greatest Growth in my Life

Truly, I struggle to think of how I could have enjoyed myself or learned any more than I did within my 3 months of interning in Bancolombia's High Impact Entrepreneurship and Strategy Consulting division due to The Intern Group. You will see the same sentiment echoed repeatedly throughout these reviews - Medellín was heaven on earth and the greatest work/cultural immersion experience of my life. My work was intellectually challenging and meaningful (rare in the banking sector in the United States), where I was truly making a positive impact for the poor class of Colombia, and I formed strategic work relationships and personal friendships that will serve me well in my future, undeniably. At the age of 21, nowhere else would I have had the opportunity to work within venture capital projects, agro-finance (with the World Economic Forum), strategy consulting, and entrepreneurship all within the course of 3 months. Not only was I personally introduced to the highest echelons of the bank (like the Director of Innovation), but I was treated as a true worker and integral part of the workplace.

Separately, the tours and suggestions for cultural events such as salsa dancing were planned by The Intern Group extremely well. These permitted the interns to spend more time with one another, and I still keep in regular contact with more than five of my fellow interns. The workshops were fantastic and we were given unprecedented access to a global marketing superstar with clients like Apple and Google named "Brian" who gave pertinent tailored advice on personal branding, which is more important now than ever. I fell in love with the friendliest people on the planet, paisas, the weather, and everything about Colombia. I literally intend on living there in the future. The most impressive part of the experience, however, was the personalized attention and herculean effort made by the Intern Group women making the experience as streamlined as possible to allow you to grow as an adult and professional. From arranging all of the travel paperwork, to world class accommodations, to giving you helpful tips about phone packages in Colombia, the professionalism of the Intern Group cannot be overstated. Erika Londoño went above and beyond the job in every capacity, and the same applies for Adriana Ferrer, who elevated the proverbial bar for the paisa people by literally being in the top five genuinely nicest/kindest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. If I can be half the professional that these two ladies are in my career one day, I have no doubt I will be successful. As an economist and financier by trade, interning in Colombia through The Intern Group is the greatest return on my investment I have ever made, and that you will likely make if accepted for the program. Don't think twice. Apply for The Intern Group internship and forever change your life for the better. I can guarantee you will not regret it.

What would you improve about this program?
I struggle to say how the program can be improved. Truly, it was a life changing experience, and I cannot imagine being in better hands than the incredibly passionate and skilled TIG ("The Intern Group").

The Hidden Gem of International Work Experience.

Hi! Lenin Ballesteros, Colombian program. Well, immediately upon arrival, I fell in love with the Intern Group. They arranged for a driver to pick me up from the airport, which is was EXTREMELY helpful because the airport is about 45 minutes from the city. But this guy was the best -- I was hungry and he pulled over at this amazing sandwich shop, lent me some money, and helped me to order. And, also, this was all at around 1AM. Yet, somehow, my experience in Medellín only went uphill from there. If you want to know all the details about that, feel free to contact me. But in short, what I loved about my experience in Medellín, and what I will never forget, are the people. The people of this city are the most genuine, the most caring, and the most hopeful people I have ever found on this earth. You'll find them in the airport, in the streets, in the international travel start-ups, or even in a midnight taxi.

Melbourne Internship - United Global Capital

Overall a very valuable experience in which I believe I grew as an individual and gained important practical experience in my field of study (finance).

I feel that I was very lucky with the group of interns that I arrived with as we became very close as a group and had many enjoyable adventures together.

The company at which I worked (United Global Capital) were very good to me and I really enjoyed the working life in the city. The work itself was extremely valuable in giving me a platform on which I can further build up work experience heading towards the end of my undergraduate studies.

In terms of location - Melbourne is a very special city and a great city to be in for a young person. The nightlife and post work activities keep you busy and there is always something new and exciting to do.

What would you improve about this program?
The accommodation was very disappointing to be frank. The only thing that was enjoyable regarding the living standards was that all the interns were together.

The advertisement of the rooms on the website was completely different to what we ended up in and a few of the promised features were not granted.

In addition, I feel like certain matters (the rat) were not dealt with in a proper manner from the intern group team and the hotel management in general.

Positives from the accommodation was that there was access to a swimming pool and modest gym facility.
Response from API Intern Group

Hi Chris, Thank you for leaving us a review. We are glad to see that you had a valuable experience with United Global Capital and rated the program a 9/10 overall. We are also happy to hear that you made close friends on the program and enjoyed all that Melbourne has to offer. We are sorry to hear that you were disappointed in the accommodation and felt that we did not deal with certain situations in a proper manner. We can assure you that we took all of the necessary steps to resolve the problem. The rat sighting was a result of food being left out in the common areas. We called pest controllers that came 4 different times for good measure. We also had builders come to assess the building and close up any potential access points. There were no more rat sightings after taking these precautions. But, you will be happy to know that we are cancelling this accommodation altogether. Your feedback is important to us.

Interning in London is worth every £!

I have had an absolutely phenomenal experience in London! Every aspect of my internship and of London has been great. The events organized by Intern London and Arianna are fun and engaging, the ease of travelling to the rest of Europe is so convenient, and London is such a great city to live in! Throughout the course of my time in London, I have never felt bored or out of things to do.

The friends, professional connections, and experience I have gained on this trip are second to none, and I am so grateful I could come to London.

What would you improve about this program?
Working out some of the kinks in the housing would be the best improvement, otherwise it is in great shape!

Can I stay longer?

I didn't know I would have this much fun during my 3-month internship with InternGroup. If I had known I was matched with a great company, office location, housing location, housing accomodations, and meeting a group of fun individuals all over the world, I would've stayed for at least 5 months! Ugh... next time. Nevertheless, the InternGroup helped me step by step along the way and they were there for me whenever I bumped into trouble. Even if they are not able to do anything about it, they gave me moral support, some advice for next time, and a virtual hug. I am so grateful and I feel really lucky to be in London with new opportunities about to unfold.

What would you improve about this program?
Maybe have flexible dates for each event? I was bummed I missed the Career workshop, but it would be great if I can attend next month's workshop instead of being assigned to attend the one I was supposed to go to because the events are all the same-just at different times and month.

The Intern Group: Madrid - Review

My time in Madrid with the Intern Group was a dream!

Really what makes the experience that much better is the quality of people that you meet here. You meet people from all around the world, and these people become your friends because at the beginning, there is nobody else that you can relate to because you don't know anybody else! Whether it's getting churros at the oldest churro place in Madrid late at night or travelling to other Spanish cities like Salamanca together, the people is what makes this an experience of a lifetime. Kudos to the Intern Group for choosing and selecting great people; it makes your experience that much better.

The Intern Group is also fantastic at ensuring there are events for you attend during the work, and everyone on staff is so easy to get along with. Importantly, if there is ever an issue, they respond promptly and fix the issue as soon as possible, which is a wonderful thing to have when living in a foreign environment.

What would you improve about this program?
If possible, providing more scholarship or financial aid the enable participants to come who may not have the necessary funds to come on their own. The program is quite expensive and while that isn't an obstacle for a lot of the program participants, it was for me, and required a lot of fundraising and working about 50 hours a week. So if it was possible to provide more of that for those in financial need, that would be fantastic.

The best learning challenge for your career and life!

Acquiring an internship through The Intern Group (Madrid) only saw amazing rewards and benefits for myself. As a Media Graduate, I was able to learn and enhance various skills within my taught discipline, as well as other areas I was interested in. As a young adolescent, the international internship taught me greatly how to adjust to a completely different, rich culture and successfully live independently.

I was a Content Marketing Intern at a Political Communications start-up.
I had set responsibilities, but was also give much freedom to learn about the sides of the business I wanted to work in too. This company helped me greatly in analysing and learning about the technical sides of Social Media and Content Marketing, as well as using CMS and Company Exclusive Software. A lot of these skills I had developed at this start-up helped me in standing out at job interviews recently.

Aside from interning all-day, The Intern Group schedules fun social events for all interns in the city. In Madrid, it was always a good time catching up with the other interns at tapas nights, walks around the city... and then even scheduling our own events by ourselves! Everyone whom I have met in The Intern Group have been awesome characters that have added to my experience in Madrid.

When it came to accommodation and living there, Intern Madrid took care of me very well, and gave instructions and info about every aspect of living in Madrid. They provided me with 10/10 accommodation and answered to any queries or complaints I had right away. They make sure to be contactable easily, and knowing they were just a call or message away made me at ease all the time.

In short, you wouldn't be wise to turn down an international internship, especially one with The Intern Group. You have only to gain from these kinds of experiences, and I hope you choose to experience it through The Intern Group!

What would you improve about this program?
Growing the Intern Group to more cities around the world!
