European Explorer 25 Day Trip

This summer I had the opportunity to go on the European Explorer 25 day trip. On this trip we went to 5 countries; Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, and France. At first I was extremely nervous to go on the trip because I would be leaving the country with 11 other kids that I did not know. When I got to the airport, I immediately realized that every other person on the trip was in the exact same boat as I was and we all started talking and immediately became best friends. This trip gave me the opportunity to not only have so much fun with the best people, but I also learned so much on the trip. My counselors were amazing and were able to balance having fun and taking advantage of teaching opportunities so well. They also made me feel safe during the entirety of the trip and the accommodations felt safe and clean. While I was in all of these countries I was able to be fully immersed in the culture. While we did all of the big touristy attractions we also got to experience authentic food and have authentic cultural experiences. We did a variation of activities so everyone got to do something they like. From shopping to swimming to hiking to sightseeing there was truly something for everyone. I met people that are now my best friends and I talk to them everyday and made some of the best memories that I will never forget. TFT provided me with the best summer I could have ever imagined and I would recommend it to anyone who asked.

Pros
  • Great counselors and students on the trip with smaller group sizes.
  • A fun variety of activities were planned to keep us entertained with minimal down time.
  • Felt immersed in the culture of the countries we traveled in.

Hawaii Sea Turtle and Service

My trip to Hawaii with Travel For Teens is an experience I will never forget. Since I was going by myself, I was nervous that I wasn’t going to find people I liked to be with. However, by the time we were in the airport getting ready to leave everyone was crying because it was over. Everything about the trip from zip lining over beautiful landscapes to scuba diving with spotted rays was way better than I could ever imagine. The lodging was perfect for our group; one place even provided space for us to hang out, and get to know the other travelers. My counselors, Gabi, Breisin, and Gina, were amazing beyond words. Any chance I get I make sure to recommend this program to people. It is truly one of the best decision I’ve ever made.

Pros
  • Meeting the most amazing people
  • Learning the Hawaiian Culture
  • Lifelong memories will be created

Europe for Older Teens: Greece and Italy

Summer of 2022, I had the pleasure of joining Travel for Teens on their Older Teens Greece and Italy trip and I have to say, it was easily the best decision I've made in a long time! From start to finish, everything was spectacularly well-organized, and the itinerary left plenty of room for spontaneity and exploration. Our counselors were knowledgeable, friendly, and approachable, making us feel right at home in unfamiliar surroundings. They took care of everything from navigating public transportation to arranging for meals and accommodations. We were able to focus completely on experiencing the wonders of these ancient lands without any of the logistics or scheduling worries. Every day was filled with adventure and discovery, and I left both countries feeling profoundly affected by the experience. One of the highlights of the trip was the chance to get on the water in both Greece and Italy. These beach days where we were island hopping was most definitely one of the best experiences I have ever had. Whether it was chatting with street artists in Rome or learning about and eating traditional dishes on the island of Lefkada, we were able to connect with people on a genuine, human level. It made the trip feel so much more authentic and unforgettable. I also appreciated how Travel for Teens encouraged us to step outside of our comfort zones. Whether it was trying new foods, speaking in foreign languages, or tackling physical challenges like scuba driving in Greece, they gave us opportunities to grow and learn from our experiences. I feel like I came away from the trip with a broader perspective on life, and a greater appreciation for the diversity of the world. Not only that, but I have made lifelong connections through this program and continue to contact the friends I have made on this trip years later! Overall, I cannot recommend Travel for Teens highly enough. Their older teens Greece and Italy trip was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. If you're looking for a fun, educational, and life-changing adventure, look no further than Travel for Teens.

Pros
  • Meeting New People

Europe for Older Teens: Prague, Austria, Slovenia and Croatia

Last summer (2023) I was lucky enough to join a trip with Travel for Teens to Prague, Austria, Slovenia, and Croatia. As an 18-year-old traveler, it was important for me to find a company that could cater to my age group and interests, and Travel for Teens more than exceeded my expectations. From the moment I arrived in Prague, I could tell that I was in good hands. The itinerary was packed with amazing experiences that I don't think I could have gotten anywhere else. It was clear that Travel for Teens had done their research and put together a trip that was both unique and exciting. One of the things that really stood out to me was the variety of activities we got to do. One day we were exploring Prague’s winding cobblestone streets, and the next we were whitewater rafting through the rivers in Bled, Slovenia. Each day felt like a new adventure, and I loved that we got to see and experience so much in such a short amount of time. Another thing that made this trip so special was the people. Our counselors were fantastic - knowledgeable, friendly, and always there to answer our questions. But what really stood out to me was the opportunity to form lifelong friendships with the other older teens on the trip. From day one, we were encouraged to get to know our fellow travelers and break out of our comfort zones. Through team-building activities, group dinners, and shared experiences, we formed bonds that will last a lifetime. What impressed me most was the maturity level of my fellow travelers. We were all there to have fun and get to know each other, but we were also respectful and responsible. Our trip leaders trusted us and gave us enough freedom to explore on our own, but also made sure we were safe and accounted for. It was so cool to meet other teens from all over the world who shared my love of travel and adventure. We all quickly became friends and had a blast exploring together. Overall, I can't recommend Travel for Teens enough. This trip was such a unique experience traveling to countries I otherwise would not have visited and I feel so lucky to have been a part of it. If you're an older teen looking for an unforgettable travel experience, definitely check them out. You won't regret it!!

Best Month of my Life

Best month of my life, by far. The only word I can think of to describe this past summer is “unreal”. I went on the Ultimate Europe: 30 Days trip. Nothing can compare to sipping tea at Kensington Palace, climbing the Arc de Triomphe and eating pastries atop the Eiffel Tower, sailing down Amsterdam's canals, visiting a giant German castle overlooking a stunning alpine lake, paragliding and whitewater rafting in the Swiss Alps, having brunch in a rotating restaurant on top of a nearly 3,000-meter-tall mountain, negotiating at an Italian leather market, relaxing at a gorgeous villa on a winery, exploring the Roman Colosseum, hiking in the beautiful Cinque Terre, swimming in the crystal-clear waters of the French Riviera, and partaking in a Spanish Tapas Masterchef-esque tournament, all within a month. This is just a small taste of what this trip has to offer. The amount of meaningful memories I’ve made is endless. I met new friends, tried new foods, experienced SO many things for the first time, and had an absolutely surreal amount of fun. As a younger teen (just leaving sophomore year), I felt very safe and supported by the incredible staff. 10/10 across the board.

Pros
  • Ate all different kinds of authentic European food for a month straight.
  • Met some incredible people that I still regularly keep in contact with.
  • Made memories that will last with me till death.
Cons
  • You have to go back home after a month.
  • Sets an unrealistic standard for your future summers. Nothing will ever even come close.

Service and Adventure in South America with Travel for Teens!

This last summer (2023) I spent 3 weeks in Peru and Ecuador with TFT and it was an amazing experience. It was my third trip with Travel for Teens. Not only did I create strong friendships through the program but my eyes were also opened to new experiences and realities. I learned so much throughout my time with TFT, from staying with locals in a remote village in Peru, to volunteering at a sustainable farm in the Galápagos, and so many more once in a lifetime experiences. I am infinitely and inexpressibly grateful to have been able to participate in this program, and I will remember this trip for the rest of my life.

Pros
  • A very fun, unique, and memorable experience
  • The experience brings you more in touch with the community of the destination than normal tourism does
  • You travel in groups so there's lots of opportunity for friendship

Cannot recumbent Travel for Teens enough

I went on a trip with Travel for Teens this summer as a 16-year-old girl and I loved every second of it. This was my first experience traveling alone and even flying alone. This was the best possible first solo travel experience I could have had. Travel for teens was perfect throughout the whole process. I chose to do a service trip in the Florida Keys working with marine conservation. I felt so fulfilled after the trip proud of myself for being able to travel alone, and I was also happy with the work I did. The people I met while on this trip were all incredible and I stay in contact with every one of them. The staff was incredible, understanding, knowledgeable, and helpful. I cannot recommend Travel for Teens enough. The experience is wonderful for teens in building independence and strengthening confidence in themselves and their abilities. I will always recommend Travel for Teens to everyone I know. I will never be able to thank them enough for the experience they provided me with.

Pros
  • Wonderful staff
  • Great community
  • Wonderful activities
