An Amazing experince

It was an AMAZING experience. I have made memories that will last a lifetime and friends I speak to daily. It was amazing to see 1st hand how all the community service you were doing genuinely meant to the community. This past summer, I taught English to children in Thailand - it was indescribable watching the children light up when my group would come to teach them. Leaving them was the most challenging part of all. I have been on 3 TFT service trips and hope to go on many more. My friends at home can testify how much I recommend them to travel with TFT. It was a fantastic experience that I think everyone should do at least once.

Pros
  • Amazing experinces
  • Lifetime memories
  • Friends and connections

Europe for Older Teens: Iceland Adventure

I went on the “Europe for Older Teens: Iceland Adventure”. This was my second trip with TFT and I am so glad that I picked this one. Iceland has always been on my bucket list (of course the blue lagoon more specifically). But I never thought I could get so much out of a trip. I was able to learn so much about Iceland that I never knew about and I don’t think I ever would have known. What I liked so much about this trip is that I didn’t feel like just a tourist going around and looking at cool places and exhibits but I was able to actually experience it. I was able to experience the main town of Reykjavik but also the small little towns that I think get forgotten about a lot of the time, most times these are the cutest. This was the summer before I left for college and while I have been on a TFT trip before I still get very nervous with new people, but just like before I was worrying about nothing. I had four amazing counselors that always made sure we had everything we needed and were always there for me to talk, they never made me feel like I didn’t matter and it made me trust them so much more and made me see them not only as people to tell me rules but as my friends and people I could count on. Of course the teens were amazing and again I had nothing to worry about, I made amazing friends most I still keep in contact with today and this made the trip so much more fun because not only was I experiencing amazing sites but I was doing it with amazing people beside me. I absolutely loved this trip and cannot recommend it enough. You are able to see so many different parts of Iceland and also be able to learn lessons and have experiences that you will never forget (I certainly didn’t).

Pros
  • All the different towns we got to see
  • Food was amazing
Cons
  • I wish we stayed at some places for a bit longer

Costa Rica Animal Rescue Service

I went on the “Costa Rica Animal Rescue Service” trip. This was my first trip with TFT and I was one of the younger teens on the trip so I was definitely nervous. I am a relatively shy person and with random teens I just met this was way out of my comfort zone. But I knew I wanted to do it and I am so glad that I was able to convince myself because it was truly a trip I will never forget. Of course I loved going to a different country, all the amazing sites, the great adventures (my first time white water rafting and ziplining), and being able to be around animals all day. But, to me what made me love it even more and stood out to me were the little details, the friends I made, the counselors, and of course the food I had. Every single person on the trip was so nice, and I made friends that made the journey that much better. The counselors were always there for me and I felt like I could talk to them about anything. One of the greatest things was, I got to experience something different everyday and that made me see the world in such a new way. Whether that was trying a new food, hanging with the animals, or going on some crazy adventure that I would have never thought I could do amazed me. I cannot recommend this trip enough, not only did it get me out of my comfort zone and made me see myself in a whole different way but it also gave me experiences and life lessons that I will forever keep.

Pros
  • Being around animals
  • All the different foods we ate
  • The different activties
Cons
  • I wish there were a few days that we could of relaxed, by the end of the trip I was very exhausted

Trip of a lifetime

I traveled with TFT for the first time last summer. It was my first time traveling internationally, so as you can imagine I was a little (or a lot) nervous, but I couldn’t have asked for a better experience than my Scandinavian Adventure. The amazing and knowledgeable counselors kept the group safe without ever needing to impose strict rules. They also gave us lots of independence, which made everyone a more confident traveler. All the campers quickly bonded and we made friendships that will last a lifetime. Some of the trip highlights include white water rafting and hiking up a glacier near Voss, seeing an old fortress in Bergen, and exploring the beautiful cities of Bergen, Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm, and Helsinki. I highly recommend doing a TFT trip if you are at all considering it. They truly are life-changing experiences.

Pros
  • Great Staff
  • Fun and Engaging Itinerary
  • Independent Free Time

Best Summer- TFT Spain, Portugal, and Morocco

I had the best experience at Travel for Teens. I went on my trip alone and was nervous about making friends but within the first day I made friends I still talk to daily. The itinerary was clearly very well thought out, the hotels were great, and all the activities were incredibly enjoyable. The councillors were very organized, fun, and were always there if we needed something. The pacing was something that was especially amazing, I never felt bored or like we were going too fast. This trip improved my knowledge of the areas we visited as well as my independence and responsibility. I made lifelong memories and had the best summer of my life, I’m so glad I got to experience it. I truly could not recommend Travel for Teens more.

Pros
  • small group enviroments
  • well organized
  • very fun

Amazing

I was lucky enough to go on a two week trip to Thailand this semester and it was one of the best experiences of my life! We discovered so many new places, got to volunteer to help improve a school and learned so much about the nature, animals, and rich country found in different areas. The food was amazing and the counselors made the experience absolutely perfect. The most fun trip of my life, I cannot recommend TFT enough!
Loved it, did this my first year out of Hugh school and I loved meeting everyone!

Amazing!

I took part in the Portugal, Spain, and Morocco Europe for Older Teens program. This trip was without a doubt one of the highlights of my life. The itinerary includes a good mix of activities, including sight-seeing, shopping, beach relaxation, dining, and more. The counselors are fantastic! They are terrific company and add to the enjoyment of the journey. They care deeply about everyone on the trip and are very friendly and relatable. Every city was unique, and the tour did an excellent job of allowing us to explore all each one has to offer in a short amount of time. The cuisine is fantastic, and I enjoyed trying dishes that were particular to each place. I loved that we were also given our own time to explore too, with the staff nearby easy to contact if we needed them. I created lifelong memories and wonderful friends with whom I still keep in touch with.

Ultimate 30 Days in Europe Experience

Traveling with TFT into Europe for 30 days was an incredible experience that I am so glad that I went on. Not only was it fun and cool by seeing all the different places around Europe such as the Romanian Colosseum or the Eiffel Tower, the most memorable experience was making so many new friends. During my 30 days in Europe I have made such close bonds with the people that I have traveled with that they will last a lifetime. Not only was it exciting traveling with the other campers, it was also fun meeting the consolers as they were all friendly and supportive. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone as this will be one of your most memorable things in your life.

Pros
  • You do so many activities every day.
  • You see so many cool places
  • You really get to immerse within the culture.
Cons
  • Lots of walking, around 25,000-30,000 steps per day.
  • Some of the housing is a bit cramped.
  • Some of the breakfast aren’t the best.

Incredible, trip of a lifetime

The time I spent in Costa Rica with travel for teens truly altered the way I view the world. It was an incredible experience with some amazing people. I went to Costa Rica alone but I came back with a group of amazing friends and a lifetime of experiences. To say that the trip was incredible is an understatement. I've been to many countries and none of them had the type of beauty Costa Rica had. I vividly remember on the 6th day of our trip when we went to a new hotel and I saw the view of our hotel balcony. It was unforgettable. My jaw very well dropped. Being able to help at the rescue centers was something I am so thankful for. Those poor animals go through a great deal and Travel for Teens making this a helping opportunity is so kind. This is a trip my family would never think about going on with their own prerogative, but Travel for Teens made it possible for me to do it on my own, and gain a new perspective of living in the process. "experiental docet" experience teaches, as they say in latin. This trip holds extremely deep meaning to me and I will remember it for every day of the rest of my life. I cant thank Travel for Teens enough for making this possible.

Pros
  • Solo travel as a teenager
  • An amazing new group of friends
  • Memories to last a lifetime

Pacific Northwest Adventure + California Adventure

I did both the Pacific Northwest Adventure and California Summer trips and I loved them! The itinerary presented so many activities in so many places, most of which concentrated in city life, but some hiking and nature activities were mixed in. One of my favorite things about how Travel for Teens operates their trips is that there is built in free time, where you can do whatever you want to do for that few hour period. My group went to watch a red carpet premiere in Santa Monica for one of these times. The staff are also incredible! 10/10 would recommend Travel for Teens!

Pros
  • Great Staff
  • Encouraging, but not pushy staff
  • Great kids, though of course this probably isn't always the case
Cons
  • Lots of hours spent traveling
