I had looked into doing a TEFL course for years and didn’t stumble across TEFL Heaven until the last minute. I’m so thankful that I did! Have just spent the last three weeks in a nice hotel in Phuket getting qualified. We had fantastic trainers and I’m feeling ready to take on the Thai students for real. The course is super practical and all about sharing ideas and activities to build up a bank of lessons to take to your school, of course there is a little theory thrown in there too. The main man, Mike, was always on the other end of the phone to help if you had any issues, but really there were none because the trainers had it down. I’m very happy I decided to do a face-to-face TEFL course as opposed to one online and would 100% recommend TEFL Heaven to anyone interested in teaching English overseas. Not only is the course great, you also get to spend three weeks with 20 (ish) others you’ve never met before, I sure way to make friends if you’re taking this on alone.

THE best decision you could ever make! I can wholeheartedly recommend TEFL Heaven without any hesitation - this has been an incredible 3 weeks of my life and here's a few reasons why:

- the trainers were experienced, approachable and genuinely wanted us to do well (thank you Louise, Mary T and Dao!). They were also up late tending to anyone with illness and even made hospital runs (an allergic reaction just as you're about to give a lesson!)

- lots of opportunities for team bonding during the course with loads of games and competitions etc

- the location! A beautiful resort with a swimming pool a few hundred metres from the beach

- the course was well organised and the trainers or Mike were easily reached to sort out any problems (visas, placements etc)

- it was nice to have school placements sorted for us - a big weight of your shoulders

- most importantly, I have met an amazing group of people who I can now call my friends - I did the course on my own without knowing anyone and within the first day of arriving in Bangkok I had met 5 of my coursemates (tefl heaven set up a Facebook group weeks in advance to help everyone get to know each other) and knew instantly that I'd made the right decision

My one reservation for booking with TEFL heaven was the type of people that I might be doing the course with but they have all been amazing - I suppose it makes sense that you are going to meet like-minded people and that TEFL heaven have a good selection process for choosing people with a genuine interest in teaching and expanding their horizons.
So, if you've taken the time to read reviews on TEFL heaven then you're considering it-I would suggest you go and do it!

The Tefl Heaven experienece has been one that will be looked upon as a wonderful experience that has given me life long memories and friendships. I would reccomend this opportunity to all who are looking to gain a professional life experience that will allow you to travel the world, and positivley touch people's lives. I've grown so much through this course and I'm so excited to start teaching! It is hard to know what to expect out of an abroad experience. Moving to another country where you know no one and almost nothing about the city is hard. TEFL Heaven made the process of applying for and getting prepared for my TEFL program a breeze.

Not only was everyone I talked to from the organization super friendly and helpful, they also responded to me quickly and answered all my questions. They connected me with their partner school in Buenos Aires and were always supportive if I needed extra assistance.

I cannot speak highly enough about the school and the in class experience I had at the institute. Our teacher, Carolina, is amazing and I am so glad I had the opportunity to learn with her and the other students in my class. The 4 week course was intense and spending 5 hours every day in the same room with the same people is.... interesting. We definitely bonded quickly.

Taking this TEFL course in Buenos Aires gave me a purpose to be here and I loved it. I had a reason to wake up and something I needed to complete every day and that was a great feeling. I have only been out of the course for a week and already have several job offers and interviews. I know that was one of my main concerns along with the other students but rest assured, there is ample teaching opportunity here and the team makes sure that you are all set.

The TEFL course in Cuzco was such a wonderful experience. I am so glad that I took the oppertunity to get TEFL certified. I met people in my class who I know will remain close friends. The class was definitely highly stressful at times, but also a lot of fun and it served as a nice transition period into Cusco life. For example, sometimes we would just spend class time getting to know each other and telling stories about our lives and why we came to Cuzco.

The most challenging part of the course was the practical teaching week. Here, students had to teach a class of native Spanish speakers for one week. After doing so, though, I feel much more prepared and experienced as I continue to seek work as an English teacher in Cuzco.

This class comes HIGHLY recommended from me.

If you're unsure on whether to do a TEFL course online or spend a bit more and have quality face to face training on a paradise island, I can say that this TEFL course is worth every penny. The guidance and support from the whole TEFL Heaven team has been invaluable and you never feel in the dark. Training and living on Samui for 3 weeks was incredible- the teaching from our main trainer Suzanne was first class and there was nothing better than finishing a long day of training by unwinding on the beach. I had the most amazing time exploring the island on our weekends off and it made me so excited knowing that this was going to become part of my reality. I am absolutely loving my time here so far- teaching is very rewarding and there's nothing better than spending my weekends exploring Thailand with the most incredible people I met through training. Moving country and starting a new job is very daunting, but I feel that TEFL Heaven have done their best to make the transition as smooth as possible. It's also very reassuring to know that I could email or phone any of the team from TEFL Heaven and they would do their upmost to help. Thanks for everything!

If you are contemplating teaching abroad with TEFL but you're worried about not adapting, feeling lonely, struggling to see yourself in a classroom or lacking confidence in any way - reset your mind and just do it anyway! I wish I had woken up, stopped fretting and sat this course a long time ago without deliberation.

Studying on an island where there are so many excursions and cool locations is like a dream come true. The quality of teaching is also really thorough and exciting. Our main trainer (Suzanne) was amazing and so enthusiastic! She made us all so excited to start working and imparted tons of wisdom whilst also being really supportive! Training was hilarious, competitive, fun and more informal than I'd imagined. However, the best perk of the entire training programme was the sense of community that was generated on Samui. When travelling, you make acquaintances and decent friends but with TEFL, you will bond with an amazing bunch of people and construct true, life-long friendships. I've already made multiple future plans with my fellow trainees which include further travel, and potential work in other Asian countries. I can't wait to see how the TEFL stepping stone will effect my life in years to come.

This experience, as brilliant and rewarding as it is, is just the beginning. I know that once I'm done in Thailand, the show will go on! Don't be afraid or look back. If you have the smallest inkling that working abroad may suit you, just take the gamble and do it while you can!

I came to thailand as a Social Care Worker with no prior experience of teaching and I am now currently teaching Kindergarden, primary classes while also tutoring police cadets all thanks to TEFL Heaven. This time last year I never would have thought I would be a foreign teacher. I love every minute of being over here. The ideas and skills I have taken from my TEFL heaven course are invaluable and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is thinking about taking the big scary step of joining this ever growing family of TEFLers over in Thailand. Yes it is daunting and scary but once you walk into the TEFL classroom all that instantly fades away. I had the best time with the most amazing people (trainers and trainees) who I never would have crossed paths with if it wasn't for this. I wouldn't change it for the world!! #SamuiCrewie

Tefl heaven is the way to go!! It was the best decision I have ever made! I was nervous at first as I wasn't a teacher but I am so happy I choosed this programme!! I trained in Koh Samui and met absolutely wonderful people..friends for life! Not only was I lucky to have an amazing group my trainer and assistant trainers were the best!! Anyone wondering about travelling and may not have enough money this course is ideal! You get to work and travel at the same time! The cost of living over here is cheap and you can do so much with your money! The programme is thought in a classroom to give you great experience of what it is like to be in class again. You are also brought to an English camp so you get the feel for teaching while you are still learning. I have just finished my first week teaching in a primary school and I absolutely love it! I would recommend everyone to do the tefl heaven programme as the guys and girls there are always there for you, even after the course they still want to keep in contact with you so you never really are alone! They give you assistance with everything so you are never really alone! Mike and the team are always available to take your call/email. I was fortunate enough to win the TEFL Heaven competition, but that in no way influences my view on this company. I hands down would recommend this course to anyone looking to become TEFL qualified. I also do not exaggerate when I say this course changed my life. I had not long graduated and was living in London unemployed, work availability is low in London and not paid well, making my time there as a graduate near impossible and a miserable one. However I was fortunate enough to win this competition, which I feel is a miracle. I was stuck in a rut with no idea what my career choice was, because I knew my major was not something I wanted to pursue. This course enabled me to build friendships with the most incredible people not to mention it also increased my confidence, I experienced the most amazing and fun filled time in Thailand and the bonus was, I found my calling in life! I am now a TEFL teacher in Korea and what I love about my job is not only do I get to have fun teaching children 5 days a week, I have the opportunity to travel which would never have been possible without this qualification.

The course itself was set in a fantastic location (I was based in Krabi) the staff looked after us well and ensured our safety, the staff they employed were suited for the job and of course were knowledgeable and supportive. I am forever grateful for having such amazing trainers, they were not just trainers but also great friends. The English camp was so much fun and honestly not one day goes by when I don't miss the duration of the course, there were challenges along the way and I felt tested at times, but the positives by far outweigh the negatives. Also, Mike is a great point of contact, he does listen to your messages and will respond promptly.

That's just a few of the many pros of my experience and I did have one con which I feel is not directly the fault of TEFL Heaven but the agency who finally took me on board for my placement, to put it nicely they were not someone I enjoyed working for and I felt I had a terrible time working at the school I was placed at. However, Mike was only too happy to help and offered to place me somewhere else. If I had not sought work myself I would have gladly accepted his offer. So even when you feel like you are a having a difficult time at your school or your placement agency, be rest assured Mike or other TEFL Heaven staff are only a phone call, email or a message away. You are not alone and they are willing to offer you advice and assistance if required.
