A great opportunity

Angloville is a great opportunity to meet new people from all over the English speaking world and interact with some amazing juniors. I did two programmes out of Warsaw and we were met with friendly coordinators and a chance to talk to the juniors from the first moment we stepped on the bus. We also met loads of like minded adults with whom we shared evenings filled with swimming and games. I never felt alone or isolated as everyone is super friendly. The programme itself is full-on but not exhausting and the projects at the end are really rewarding! It’s amazing to see the creativity and curiosity of some of the young people you work with and they really enjoy speaking with the mentors about everything imaginable. Overall I would recommend this programme to anyone who wants to broaden their horizons and meet some inspiring new people.

Angloville Prague

My week long Angloville experience took place in the mountains of Czech Republic. It allowed me to improve my communication as well as socialising skills as we spent over 12 hours a day together with people previous strangers to us. But is also meant we created strong bonds over short periods of time- learning about the culture of the students from Czech Republic, and the day to day lives of the native speakers. There were games, group activities, sports as well as teaching sessions so there was never a boring hour. We were also given accommodation and free meals. The food was delicious native Czech Republic food that allowed me to expand my palette and find a new favourite dish!!!! Moreover, the accommodations were twin bedrooms therefore allowed individuals to get close to their roomie and not feel alone or left out.

What would you improve about this program?
Although it was nice to get to know people I thought it was was quite intense to always be socialising and maybe less full on activities. Also food variety.

Really good

I really enjoyed my week in Hungary, the other people were super lovely, the vibe was super relaxed, I liked how it was relatively small so it was really easy to get to know everyone. Also the co-ordinators were very nice and clearly enjoyed the job. I did a junior programme, I'd like to try a kids one in the future perhaps. The venue was really pretty and there was a nice pool we were free to use, the venue staff weren't that friendly but that was okay, they were at least very accommodating to my dietary needs. I would definitely do it again in the future. The only thing that would be better is if they helped subsidise some of your travel, it would be very expensive to go just for that, for me it was part of a larger trip round Europe so I really recommend doing it that way.

What would you improve about this program?
It would be great if they subsidised some of the travel, I think it would be too expensive to go just for that alone.

Angloville

Did three weeks near the end of July and so happy I did. My original plan was to do two weeks in Prague (Hotel Excelsior) but because the food was so bad I moved to Poland (Hotel Chojnik), and after went to Kunsagi Major near Budapest. Made so many friends both participants and mentors, so many positive experiences. A particular highlight was the talent show in Poland in which i and another mentor performed classic English rap. This trip honestly restored my faith in humanity and the younger generations, who are all super progressive and talented at what they do.

I think anyone who has a sense of adventure or simply an endearing and caring mindset should take up Angloville, even if it is a week. I did my programs back to back which was a little tiring.

What would you improve about this program?
Needs better coordinators, who listen to volunteers more.
Needs to reimburse travel.

My 3 week back to back Angloville experience.

Angloville was something I definitely see coming, when I heard about it I applied and didn't really know what to expect, it all seemed too good to be true, stay in different countries for free, surely not? But when I found out about it all I couldn't believe it, once I arrived my expectations were definitely exceeded, it was an incredible experience! I did two weeks in Hungary and one week in Poland. This experience probably was the best I've ever had, I had the opportunity to travel by myself, meet new people from all over the world in which I made best friends and I had the pleasure to work with amazing coordinators to help teach English to these kids in the funnest way possible, I enjoyed every second, the atmospheres were unforgettable! I made great friends with all the kids as well which was heart warming in the camps, not only did I feel like part of a family, but I also felt safe and free, this experience certainly helped me to escape from the real world for a bit and just be myself which was so refreshing, and all you gotta pay for is the flights which with Ryanair is so cheap, I also highly recommend the city tours before the program starts because this is where you get to meet all the other native speakers. I highly recommend this experience, get yourself some Angloville programs and those recommendations for your CV which you will receive in the end.

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
Haha well I made the big mistake in taking a massive suitcase with me which was so tiring to lug around and the majority of the camps had so many steps to climb to get to my room, so bring a backpack! I also highly recommend bringing your own snacks cause there won't be any shops around as you will always find yourself being hungry as you're constantly busy and make sure you take mosquito repellent in the summer!!

Angloville

Angloville is an amazing experience for both native speakers and participants. This is because it allows English speakers to travel the world as well as help improve people’s English and good for participants as having to speak English constantly for a week really does improve the fluency of the language. I had an amazing time on both the adults course and the juniors program. They were both completely different but brilliant in there own ways. I also got to make so many friends and listen to many different life stories and thoroughly enjoyed making an impact but helping people. I would describe angloville as a “working holiday” and would definitely recommend it to anyone as age does not matter. Food and accommodation is covered for the week and it’s a wonderful experience.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Stay relaxed! The program is so chill there is no reason to stress and leave breaks in between your programs so you can travel a bit :)

Such an amazing experience!

I loved volunteering with Angloville! Each week was different and you meet so many different types of people, both the participants and other volunteers/coordinators. The week is a lot of fun with different activities every day so it really does fly by but the best thing for me is seeing the participants progress over the week and seeing how much more confident they are in their own ability! I had volunteered on both the kids and juniors programme and whilst they’re both very different, they are so rewarding, the kids honestly look forward to all the activities each day and come to the sessions with such a positive attitude! I have really enjoyed angloville so much that I am going back as a coordinator in a weeks time, i couldn’t recommend Angloville any more!

What was the most surprising thing you saw or did?
Just how excited the kids are to do speaking sessions and how much they want to learn and improve their english! They’re all so enthusiastic!!

would definitely recommend

I would like to say the opportunity that arose from Angloville has been the best I could have ever imagined.

I did a programme in Łódź, Warsaw and Budapest. They were all completely different but all equally as good as eachother. The venues were like night and day from eachother and sometimes the hotel service wasn’t tremendous, but the food and the people definitely make up for that in a heartbeat.

Angloville has given me the chance to solo travel whilst spending time with wonderful people of all ages!

I think my only problem is that with all the hours you have to pay for your own flights but it’s all a very delightful experience worth that cost!

The volunteers and staff are all very caring and incredible people. I have most definitely made life long friends here!

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
I’d try the adult program and probably double book hotels rather than travel around the country for another programme.

3 Weeks in Poland, Czechia and Hungary.

I spent one week in three different countries and each one was excellent. I completed the TEFL training beforehand which really helped me when speaking with the juniors. It allowed me to understand where they were making mistakes and how to help them. By taking part in Angloville, I also understand where I am making mistakes when learning languages and I am better able to study.
I travelled alone and I would highly recommend doing so as I didn't have a friend or partner to rely on, I truly made friends with the people I have met throughout the Angloville camps.
I got to know the juniors and I am so grateful to have played a small part in their journeys. The food and accommodation was generally very good expect for a few hiccups here and there. Any problems I had were quickly solved by the coordinators without any complaints.
I would 100% recommend that you take part in this fantastic programme as you will not regret it!

What was the most surprising thing you saw or did?
I had a 50 minute conversation with a 16 year old Hungarian boy in which he told me the whole history of Ireland!

Angloville Poland

I recently completed two back to back programs with Angloville in Poland. I loved every minute of my time there. The fellow English speakers and the Polish speakers were all great people with whom I shared many memorable conversations. The organisers worked tirelessly to ensure that everything ran smoothly. The venues, accommodation and food were lovely.
It's a busy program, with little free time, but who needs free time when you have travelled so far to meet local Polish people. There was a variety of meaningful activities each day, from one to one conversation sessions to impromptu dance nights. Everybody seems sad to see the program end and most plan to return.
I hope to join Angloville for many more enjoyable programs in the future.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Just relax and enjoy the company of so many interesting people.
