3 weeks Angloville Poland

This company ensures it gives a good experience to native speakers and participants alike. The accommodation and food is very good in all the hotels I stayed in (however some people I spoke to did have bad experiences). My hotels were Lipowy Most, Bardo and Chojnik and they are all 10/10 hotels in fantastic locations.

It is important to know that if you are doing more than 1 week, you have to find transport between your locations. For example you might arrive back in the city centre of Wroclaw at 7pm on Saturday, and have to be in Warsaw for 8am on Sunday. This might mean a night bus or train, or having to organise accommodation for the Friday night in whichever city you are staying in.

It is also worthy to note that 3 weeks in a row is very tiring, you get 1.5 hours off each day but other than that you are working 9am - 10pm with little time for rest. It is very sociable and you are encouraged to talk as much as possible, so it can quickly get tiring.
I would recommend taking at least a week break throughout your time, for example 2 weeks on, 1 off, 1 on. Or something like that just to give yourself a chance to explore and enjoy!

Now for all the good points!! The program is fun and an amazing way to meet new people and try new things as well as to learn about and experience a new country in a lesser visited country side. You get your TEFL certificate, free accommodation and free meals and honestly after Wednesdays work (day 3) the rest of the week flies by and you'll be finished faster than you can imagine. The last day is always nice and full of sad goodbyes, it is really warming to see the impact you have had on the kids.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Plan it well, look into the hotels and locations you are visiting and ensure it is easy to travel between them!
At the end of the week a lot of the native speakers gather and have a nice time in the pub in the main city, if you don't want to miss out on that then do a week on, week off, week on!

A great way to travel and meet new people!

I participated in 2 programs this summer and it was an incredible experience. I worked alongside some incredible professionals and met some amazing people and students. I would recommend that people give this a chance, it's a great way to meet new people and to see some amazing parts of Europe! You have the option of a free tour before the program, which was a really lovely way to see the city and to meet your fellow mentors before the program starts!

I did the Junior program in Wroclaw (Hotel Chojnik) in Poland and in Prague (Hotel Astra) in the Czech Republic. The hotels were really nice, the Chojnik hotel was without a soubt my favourite venue, and they catered for dietary needs (I'm lactose intolerant!) without any problems. The field trips were really cool too!

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
I was a bit unsure of whether this was a "too good to be true" scenario, so I will admit that when I arrived, alone, as a first time traveller I was a bit apprehensive, and I think I wasnt the only person to feel that way. Everything turned out much better than I expected it to!

Volunteering With Angloville

It was an incredible experience volunteering with Angloville.
I'm already planning my next programme.
I worked with juniors and thoroughly enjoyed getting to know each and every participant.
The days were long but I never felt overworked. The coordinaters always put out health and happiness first and were constantly thanking and encouraging us.
It was wonderful to meet so many new people in such a short space of time. Some of whom I will stay in touch with forever!
Also, for people looking to see the lesser known parts of Czech, Poland, Hungary, Romania or Malta, it is a great way to do so. It's also great for people travelling on a budget as I am. All transport, food and accommodation is provided so hardly any need for money at all.
A very fulfilling experience, I would highly recommend it to all.

What was the most unfamiliar thing you ate?
Strawberry pasta! It was weird at first but I grew to love it in the end.

Samira Moussoum Review of Angloville

I thoroughly enjoyed the two weeks I spent as a volunteer with Angloville. My role as a Native Speaker in Poland was very rewarding.

I enjoyed seeing how the children progressed throughout the programme. Not only was I able to see their levels of English improve drastically from day to day but I could also witness their growing confidence as they became more familiar with their new environment.

Being able to form close relationships with the children through the application of language learning in a fun and individually tailored way meant that the rapport felt natural to both parties.

Crucially, Angloville has managed to get the perfect balance between slightly more 'traditional', academic language learning and fun, interactive language activities - ensuring the children were constantly engaged.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Embrace every opportunity you are presented with as it is those that I found made the programme the most enjoyable and memorable.

Brilliant children, rewarding volunteering

I met so many great participants on this volunteering experience. The children I worked with were amazing and so inspiring, and I felt like I made a real difference in their lives that single week I was there.

I think the coordinators were very supportive of all of us volunteers and there was no confusion about anything during the trip. Although I loved the experience, I do have a few recommendations to make Angloville even better. I would recommend for the organisers to introduce more varied activities in the schedule and more group activities, because I felt like it made the volunteer's jobs a lot more effective when the participants were in groups.

Overall this experience is brilliant and it is a good experience for people of any age, especially students and young people.

What would you improve about this program?
I would improve the structure. I felt like it could've been more varied and creative.

Meet people from all over the world!

I volunteered for the Krakow Angloville and it was fantastic. The volunteers were a unique bunch from all over the world. The students were amazing, so interested in learning about our cultures and lives. I really valued mixing up the games during speaking sessions, so they weren´t just answering the same questions. It was also nice to collaborate with other volunteers on the kinds of games and activities they were running.

The food at the camp was not very good at all. Once one of the leaders complained, it got a bit better. If you have allergies or intolerances, pack snacks! Also, I felt there was not enough introductions or social bonding for the team. We arrived at the meet up location and did not introduce ourselves. Luckily, attending the walking tour was a way to meet people beforehand, I recommend that everyone attends that before the camp starts if possible. I also felt the introduction to camp was very boring for the kids, as it was just rules. There could be more fun activities to get them pumped up.

What would you improve about this program?
Areas of improvement would be based around the venue and social bonding.

Great opportunity for overseas exposure during summer

It's a great opportunity to spend a week at a beautiful resort and forge many unforgettable memories with native speakers of many nationalities as well as the Polish/Hungarian participants.

Every Angloville is different, you'll never get the same experience twice even if you sign up for multiple programmes! I was initially feeling really nervous since it was my first time being overseas alone, but the coordinators were open, friendly and approachable which really puts me at ease :)

I did 3 programmes in total, 2 consecutively and one with a week in between. The programme is very intensive. If you need lots of time to yourself, you might want to put a week between each programmes as it requires you to interact with people for over 10 hours a day.

The resorts I've been to are well equipped with many recreational activities to explore, particularly the one at Budapest, Sarlopuszta hotel. The rooms are huge and there were activities like horse riding, shooting and archery available should you be interested. The food served in all programmes also contributed to the immersive experience of each culture. Overall, I hope to return to Angloville to do another programme in the near future!

What was the most unfamiliar thing you ate?

A great programme!

Volunteering with Angloville this summer has been a great and enriching experience. The staff and venues have been great and is definitely worth the cost. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly so if there is ever any problem or issues, you definitely have someone to turn to or ask for advice from. Some of the venues have facilities such as swimming pools, saunas, pool tables,
basketball courts, volleyball courts etc. The kids are the most inspiring and energetic people to work with. As long as you’re keen to get involved and speak English fluently, it’s all the skills you need to be a successful volunteer. Overall, it has been a fantastic experience especially,
if you’re thinking about working towards achieving your TEFL certification!

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Don’t overpack& make sure you’re aware of th potential activities you might be asked to be involved in so you being suitable clothes.

Adult sessions with Angloville

My neighbor had attended two Angloville sessions in Poland last year and raved about the experience. Based on her recommendation, I completed the requisite paperwork, was interviewed and signed up for four programs in Poland. The experiences I had meeting both a variety of Polish participants of all ages and from all walks of life, and native English speakers from all over the world was incredible. I attended the a city tour and luncheon prior to the first session which left from Warsaw. The tour was informative, the lunch was delicious, and it was nice to meet a few of the participants prior to the start of the session. At all four sessions, I was impressed with the Polish participants. They were all very dedicated, and had some pretty amazing professional backgrounds. While their written English skills were usually quite advanced, their goals were to improve their spoken English skills. I can honestly say that this happened in every case. The days were long - especially for the Polish participants, as they didn’t get free time except for what was scheduled. But it was great to see, and have them acknowledge, the progress they made from beginning to end. I feel like I made some good friends during my sessions with Angloville, and we will keep in touch, hopefully seeing each other in the future.

What would you improve about this program?
I would conduct the initial interviewing and scheduling with Angloville personnel, rather than being out-sourced. I would also recommend having a Point of Contact for NS attendees so questions could be addressed and answered in advance of arrival in Europe. In an ideal world, a single room would be wonderful, rather than having a roommate.

Best way to get to know europe and yourself

When you sign in to Angloville you just think about traveling bt ut in the end is much more than that. You leave with friends all around the world and with an unique mentoring experience that can change your life. Just do it you will feel like is the best decition you have made for yourself and it comes with way more than you expected. Don't do it for more than 3 weeks tho because you will be tired of all the fun and all the long days. Angloville is the best way to meet people, do social networking and travel more in the future with this new frienda you just met. And also to have new possibilities of working abroad in almost any country with thw TEFL certification. And it's free! Like any doubts?
