Just Brilliant

I do not hesitate in recommend AIT to my friends. It is such a great college, the people who tech really know what they do and they are always available to answer your questions, even after classes. There is a good atmosphere and many opportunities for students to go to the industry (many companies show up looking for people) or even take an academic career. There are high level research institutes in AIT. I had the pleasure to join the Software Research Institute (SRI), where I met smart and kind people and learned so much. People in International Office are very kind and always ready for help you as well. Therefore, Irish people are very nice. Always smiling and they do like international students. The accommodation is great, very safe and no problems at all.

Studying in Athlone was a changing life experience

I can not even put into words how the period that I passed in Athlone changed my life. The possibility of living abroad is already a great thing. However, AIT makes everything even better due to all the support from the staff, the very good evironment and the Irish culture. I really didn't have to leave Athlone to feel like I already knew a lot about European culture, and this due to the many europeans that go there to study abroad every year. I could make so many friends from so many different countries, not only irish. Also, one of the greatest factor was the support that the staff gave to us, providing events (such as a brazilian carnival week) and trips around Ireland. Thus we could visit the most important touristic sights and be more comfortable about being far from home. Karl, Mary and all the professors are really gentle and will provide you the best of irish hospitality. AIT made a dream (studying one year abroad) come through the best way and I could not have chosen any other university for that :)

An unforgettable experience

After 18 months in Ireland (AIT), I just carry incredible memories of the wonderful experience that I could have. This country has become my second home and one of the factors that contributed to this was the care that the AIT has with international students.
Besides improving my English, the exchange allowed me to study another type of engineering, did a survey of the institute's doctors and made amazing friends from different countries.
Accommodations and classes allow you to meet many students and learn a little of each culture.
If you asked me if I would return to the AIT, I say undoubtedly yes!

What would you improve about this program?
In the course of English, prioritize students from different nationalities

You won't feel lonely and boring in AIT!

I had an amazing experience studying abroad in Athlone Institute of Technology. There were lots of events that you can get involve for the whole academic year. The International society had organised several trips to bring the international students travel around Ireland. The international office staffs were also really thoughtful, every year there will be Chinese New Year celebration and dinner in AIT which I think it was the happiest part studying here. Because I didn't expect they celebrate Chinese New Year.

What would you improve about this program?
If possible, I wish to have internship/replacement as part of my course (biotechnology).
