Arcos Learning Abroad - Study Abroad in Granada, Spain

I had a wonderful time on my 5-week program in Granada, Spain this summer! The Arcos team was wonderful to work with as I prepared to leave for my trip, and the experience itself went as well as it could have gone. I had the BEST host mom and roommate, great program directors, I really enjoyed my classes, and the activities we were able to do were so much fun. In addition to my time in Granada, I took a weekend trip to Córdoba and Sevilla and another trip to Paris. During my time in Spain, I feel like my Spanish improved significantly, and I had so much fun learning. I highly recommend a program with Arcos!

During this program the students have the opportunity to learn and practice Spanish all the time: in class, with the host family, during the cultural activities and during the excursions.
The Spanish classes take place from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm Monday to Friday in a comfortable classroom. During the afternoon, Saturdays and Sundays the students attend cultural activities and excursions to learn the history associated with the language they are learning. I recommend this program to all the students that want to learn Spanish during the summer.

Overall my experience in Granada, Spain was amazing. The people, the culture, the food, everything was fantastic. Arcos Abroad did a good job showing us this beautiful country but there are things they could change to make their program better. Other programs offered more support. I believe I was only asked once or twice about how my classes were going. Another thing that I think they could change is giving each student their own room. I, including some other students had to share rooms. Meanwhile, other students in the same program had their own rooms. Another thing they can change is giving more support and activities who arrive earlier than the rest of the students. Some students in our program took an intensivo Spanish course the first month. I didn't personally go through this, but was told by my peers that they felt lonely and had a difficult time during this period of time. These are a few problems that can be easily fixed. I think with these changes, Arcos can become a great program!

My experience with Arcos Learning Abroad was absolutely incredible! The Arcos staff were wonderful to work with, the education was of great quality, and the immersion in the culture of Spain was phenomenal. I felt very safe and supported throughout my stay in Granada thanks to the Arcos team and my host family. There was a great balance of education and outside activities that made the experience both rewarding and enjoyable. I would do it all over again if I could! Overall, I highly recommend this program!

I could talk for hours about how much I enjoyed doing study abroad through Arcos. I had a great group, incredible and unforgettable homestay families, and very kind and helpful advisors. If I weren’t graduating I would do Arcos learning abroad programs every year of college! My time at the Universidad de Granada had such an impact on my life, Spanish, and college education. I am so grateful to have participated in this program! I hope to return to Granada or at least Spain as soon as possible. My life is forever changed since visiting the beautiful city, region, and country.
