TEFL Certification in Cusco, Peru: Teach Real ESL Students

I completed this 150 hour course and weeklong practical teaching course in two months. The support offered and the practical teaching portion of the course are unmatched in comparison to what I have seen from other online TEFL courses. Sean was my instructor. He graded everything in a timely manner, was invaluable with feedback and encouragement during the practical teaching session, and has helped me immensely with creating a resume and the job search! I didn't know how big of a help that would be! Recommend to anyone looking to open a door to teaching and living all over the world!

I live in South Africa, and I pursued the 150h Online (+ 16 hours class observation and practical teaching experience) TEFL course with Maximo Nivel, based in Latin America. As a newbie to teaching, I did not know what to expect or if I had made the right choice with selecting an institution.
I was still working full time and studying at night, burning the candle at both ends. It was hard work and really challenging but equally rewarding. Although it can be stressful and often overwhelming to study and venture into something new, the benefits of committing and having fun while you are doing it, far outweigh the "cons".
I was contacted immediately upon payment of the course and given a briefing on how it would all work and what the next steps were to take. I was impressed right away by the company efficiency and high level of communication, always available and able to assist. This remained my experience throughout the duration of the course. Staff are friendly and professional. The platform was easy to navigate and self-explanatory. All materials and study content were provided with a trainer available for any questions or assistance I needed. They went the extra mile to make time for me and I highly respect that. I received my certification On August 14, 2026. I was congratulated by my trainer and Institute director, with a great reference letter attached to my certification. Personally, I had such a good experience. The amount I learned in 6 moths, superseded my expectations and I would highly recommend Maximo Nivel to anyone looking to get TEFL certified.

I came in with very few expectations but I am leaving feeling more than satisfied. I had some doubts about if it was the right choice, but I am so glad that I decided to take this course. It helped me grow and learn in ways I wouldn't have expected. I feel that I have learned so much that will stick with me for the rest of my life. The people here are awesome! Everyone here is genuinely concerned with your wellbeing and growth - they are constantly checking in on you and are always there to help.

Sean the TEFL trainer was amazing. He’s very warming and funny. He has an open door for any help that you need. The hours in class are very manageable. The workload is good. Class interaction is always high. I don’t think there was a boring moment. Getting the practical teaching experience the last week is extremely important. They offer things after the course (job search, CV help, interview help, contract advice, etc.). Cusco is a great place to visit for the month while obtaining your certificate.

Sean provided a great setting for all the students. The course was informative, challenging, and empowering! The four weeks flew by. Really excellent course! I feel more prepared for the future. The information was specific to the needs of ESL teaching. We explored all of the important content. The instructor did an excellent job of covering things at a good pace. I highly recommend the program. I feel ready for the next steps. I wouldn’t change anything. The practical teaching was the highlight of the month. Thank you so much!

The Practical Teaching Week was the highlight of the program. Teaching real students in an intercultural environment helped me build confidence and put everything I had learned into practice. As a non-native English speaker, I always felt encouraged and supported throughout the course.

I loved this course! I was overwhelmed by the amount of course content at first, but it ended up being perfectly fine. Sean, my instructor, was amazing and super helpful throughout the whole process. I would recommend the Maximo Nivel TEFL program to anyone seeking an amazing experience! As for Cusco itself, it is an absolutely beautiful city with so much history to explore. The food was also amazing! I'm not vegan, but a friend of mine is and they had no issues finding vegan friendly food! The altitude can take some getting used to, but I think it's worth it.

I really enjoyed this 4 week program in Cusco, Peru. Sean is a wonderful teacher and I learned so much in a short amount of time. It is an intensive course, but I still had time to enjoy the city. There were many opportunities to teach in front of real students even from the first week of the course. I felt very prepared for the last week when I taught in an actual classroom. Maximo Nivel is a great company as well. The facilities are nice and there are fun activities every week like salsa dancing and cooking classes. I stayed with a host family and had an amazing experience with the family and the other travelers staying in the house!
