About Program

We have placed teachers in Korea since 2007 with zero complaints because we at T.E.I.K. (Teach English in Korea) are a husband-and-wife team who have taught, lived, and worked in Korea as ESL teachers and government officials. We pride ourselves on being a boutique recruitment agency that is always focused on our teachers getting the best job opportunity that fits the teacher's qualifications, experience, and preferences.

We are a very laid-back, low-pressure, expat-owned, and run agency. We also live by the motto, “No B.S., No Drama.” If you are not 100% certain that you feel that you would be a great candidate to teach English in Korea, then don't waste both of our time. We only want to work with caring and honest individuals who have an adventurous spirit, love to travel, and meet new people. We will assist with gathering visa documents, the visa process, placement, arrival to Korea, and continued support during your full year in Korea.

Do it

After being in Korea for 4 years, working for a privately owned academy, I needed a change. A friend of mine told me about Teik and how helpful they were with her move to Korea and I immediately reached out! Teik sends plenty of updates via email almost daily, on available posts at different schools, in different parts of Korea. Plus, they added pictures of the apartments offered which really helped me make up my mind.

2 years with the program and I'm happy with my choice. I've just been promoted to Head Teacher and I look forward to another year in Korea!

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Learn some basic Korean before arriving. Koreans appreciate it so much and it shows you really embracing their culture.

Best recruiter

I arrived in South Korea in August 2023. After researching South Korea as a destination to teach in and reading so many horror stories on the internet, I was very lucky to come across Teaching English in Korea. Bradley was so helpful and got me a really good position at an academy that is really professional and cares about teaching. I was only going to stay for one year but I love it so much I'm going to stay for a second year. Thank you for all your help and support on my South Korean journey.

TEIK

I think I ended up in a very great placement! I have a really great support system in my school and I get support when I ask. I have heard so many horror stories and I’m glad to say I’m not one of those! I was nervous to begin this journey but I’m grateful I have! The process was pretty straightforward and TEIK was very helpful with finding my a school that was a good fit for me. The process start to finish was very fast! I was in Korea within 2.5 months of starting the process! I found that I love teaching and i enjoy my classes!

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
My first day, I was so nervous, but I took a deep breath and the rest came easy.
Pros
  • Fast placement

Teach English in Korea!!

this program is really good and makes sure you get a job in an area you want to be in! brad is really helpful and makes sure that you have everything you need before applying to any jobs in korea. he also helps prepare you by making sure you understand the cultural differences and tells you what to expect when teaching in korea. once you have a job, he routinely checks up on you to make sure you are comfortable and prepared to make your move overseas to korea. i really recommend him and his program!

What was the most unfamiliar thing you ate?
the most unfamiliar thing i have eaten was raw marinated octopus!
Pros
  • Friendly people
  • easy to get around

Excellent Recruiting!

TEIK has been super helpful throughout my entire experience of moving to Korea. They always answered all of my questions with great detail and have always been incredibly patient! When I felt scared about making such a big move, TEIK was understanding but encouraging so that I felt confident in my decision. Not only did the provide profesional help and information about the process, but also great recommendations for my personal/ social experiencias! I know that I would like to stay in Korea longer and I know I will continue working with TEIK!

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
I don’t think I would change anything about my experience!

Super Helpful Recruiter

Working with TEIK has been a great experience for me. Not only had they connected me to multiple schools, they also walked me through my different options to help me decide thoroughly and be confident about the school I chose. TEIK always answered all of my questions patiently and in great detail. They helped me through my entire visa process. I felt confident that TEIK had my back throughout the entire experience. They are very friendly and made me feel at ease. I can really tell that TEIK cares about placing quality teachers at quality schools.

Amazing Experience!

I arrived in Korea going on three months ago, and started working with Poly schools. The experience so far has been great! Apartment paid for, walking distance from school, and smart students. I spend the weekend exploring the local Korean scene, as there's many restaurants, arcades and historical sites to see. The people here are very kind and helpful, they will try to use as much English as they can while interacting with you. The Hangul script is also relatively easy to learn, and you can usually get around knowing only a little. English signs are widely posted; it would not be hard to get around. I recommend this to anyone who's curious, it's been a life-changing experience.

Pros
  • Rent paid for by school
  • Rich culture and kind people
  • Incredibly helpful support system
Cons
  • Long hours
  • High expectations
  • Large workload
