Moving to Spain with the help of RVF

It can be an incredibly overwhelming process to move your life to another country, but with the help of RVF it is 100% attainable. Not only do they help you navigate all of the legal processes like getting a visa, but they are also there to aid in the housing search. They had me feeling prepared and excited for what was to come as an English teacher in Spain and I couldn’t imagine doing this without their support. This has been a great year living in Andalucía and I am excited to say that RVF is helping me in the renewal process to stay even longer!

Forever España

My time as an English Auxiliary (RVF International) in Spain has been nothing short of fantastic. I am ethnically Spanish, but was adopted as a child, so this allowed me to get in touch with my roots. However, no one could have told me the extent to which I would fall in love with Spain and its people. Whether it’s tapas on the street, local dives, or beach trips to Alicante, everything is a lifetime adventure.
There are places online that talk about the school experience in a stressful light. In my experience, it was a great chance to grow alongside the kids. Quickly, we adapted to each other, and I’ll miss all of them as I leave the school in San Lorenzo in the coming weeks. The area around my school is stunning, as the monastery is an authentic Spanish treasure. I am a little sad that you can only be in one school for two years, as I’ve formed strong bonds with the students and faculty during my time here.
I came to Spain with a base level of Spanish that can only be achieved from an American High School. Needless to say, I wasn’t the strongest speaker. However, in Madrid, everyone was super nice and easy-going from the moment I stepped off the plane. My local alimentacion is run by a couple that speaks no English, but we crossed that divide and now check in with each other every few days if we don’t go to the store. While the city of Madrid offers the hustle and bustle and nightlife of a major city, it also has a sense of tranquility amongst the crowd.
This program is 110% recommended for people of all ages looking to immerse themselves in a new culture.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Don't stress at the beginning, especially if you don't have a degree in education. As someone with no background in education, I initially questioned my effectiveness in the first one or two months of the program, but I soon adjusted to speaking lessons with the students. The two most significant pieces of advice I can offer are: 1) work closely with the teachers. Ask them what you can do to improve your skills, and ask what it is they expect from you as an auxiliary. 2) Don't get offended by the students. They tend to talk a lot and may often disregard something, but it's important to know that it's not about you or your work. Kids will sometimes be kids!
Pros
  • Cultural Experience
  • Language Immersion
  • Food and Drink Culture

RVF International - Study Abroad

I genuinely can’t say enough good things about RVF International. From the very beginning, they were there every step of the way—helping me with applications, answering every question (even the ones I asked more than once 😅), and making the process of moving to Spain so much less intimidating.

They walked me through everything from visa documents to placement preferences, and the guidance they offered gave me the confidence to actually go through with such a huge life change. Now, I’m studying at Nebrija University, living in Spain, and truly living out something I once thought was just a dream.

If you’re thinking about teaching or studying abroad, I 100% recommend RVF. They don’t just place you—they support you. And that makes all the difference.

Pros
  • Help with Visa
  • Free Application
  • 24/7 Access to Help

Amazing experience with RVF

I have participated in the NALCAP program for two years. In the first year, I did it alone, but in the second year, I had the guidance of RVF. They were incredibly helpful and responsive, making the process much easier from start to finish. The city I was placed in was my top choice- lovely people, food, and nature in Cadiz, Spain. :) The students were respectful, and the staff at my school were supportive. Overall, a 10/10 experience that I highly recommend to anyone interested in teaching and language learning.

RVF is a great option for moving to Spain!

RVF is a great option for those who are looking to live and work in Spain. I first started out with RVF in 2022, where I got my first placement in northern Spain. They handled the visa process exceptionally well and made the transition to Spain comfortable and easy. Keep in mind, there is no housing provided, but they offer assistant in finding great living accommodations. I have recommended this company to close friends who have also enjoyed the services that are provided. It’s currently 2025, and I’m still enjoying my life here in Spain and look for to working with this company in the future.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
If it’s one thing that I’ve learned while living in Spain is to just go with the flow, specifically in regards to the visa process. Spanish culture is very laid pack and relaxed, which is wonderful when you’ve finally settled in. However, this also means that the visa process and other related documents can take a while to process. If this happens, don’t worry, everything will come in time, especially with the help of RVF. They’ll answer any questions and concerns, all while making sure everything is progressing as it should.
Pros
  • Attentive staff
  • Lots of guidance and resources
  • 24/7 assistance
Cons
  • No housing

RVF International has started a new Study in Spain program, and it's AMAZING!

For the past year, I have served as a language assistant in Cadiz, Spain. RVF International managed this process, and I could not be happier with their guidance and support. I am renewing my contract to teach in Madrid, Spain. I have been tutoring or teaching English to speakers of other languages since I was certified in 2022. At the same time, I felt that I truly needed to pursue a master's degree to complete my career transition from Corporate America to teaching. Yet again, RVF International has stepped up to the plate. They have begun an incredible new study abroad program, and I am so happy to announce that, with their invaluable assistance, I have been accepted to Nebrija University in Madrid, Spain to pursue a Master's in Bilingual Education in addition to serving as a language assistant at a high school. I could not be more grateful to RVF for their leadership. Thank you, RVF International and congratulations on this exciting new chapter!!!

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
Dealing with all the paperwork. RVF International guided me through everything.
Pros
  • Organization
  • Guidance
  • In depth knowledge of Spain's education system.
Cons
  • Spanish paperwork would have been completely overwhelming without RVF

Hello Jeremy, Thank you for your question! Housing is independent and is not included in the program. It's very exciting to embark on this sort of Teach Abroad adventure with family! Currently at RVF International, we don't handle the visa process or transition process for family members. However, for anyone in the program coming to Spain with family, we are more than happy to get them in touch with English-speaking immigration lawyers in Spain who would be able to help answer all family member...

Hello Richard, Thank you for your question! You will earn anywhere between €700 EUR to €1000 EUR depending on where in Spain you'll be teaching as your monthly salary will be relative to the standard cost of living of where you'll be teaching. Doesn't sound like much? Don't worry, it is! Spain is one of the least expensive countries in all of Western Europe to live in, and you'll earn more than...
