RVF International

Teaching abroad in Madrid has been a mind broadening as well as a pallet expanding opportunity I am grateful to have had. Had it not been for the RVF team I would not be here today. If I had to do it all on my own I don't think today I would be in the center of Madrid amidst the bountiful culture and perfect opportunities to grow myself in ways not previously imaginable. Leaving your family and friends can be a struggle, but this experience makes it worth your while. You'll go home to your family and friends with new knowledge, an understanding of another culture, and fresh new perspectives. All in all I know this was the right decision and it may be for you too. Thanks again RVF International!

So Grateful For RVF International

I genuinely do not think that I could've turned my dream into a reality without RVF International. Since my Junior year in college, I have been trying to find a way to live and explore Spain due to Covid-19 canceling my study abroad plans. It took some years but I stumbled across RVF International as I was looking for “teaching abroad in Spain” jobs and the moment I told them I was interested they immediately reached out informing me I was a good candidate for the program. As there is a placement fee that you have to pay, I can assure you that if it is your first time leaving your home country, IT IS WELL WORTH IT!!!

Any time I have had a question RVF International support always responded with solutions within 24 hours. If the inquiry required more than a quick email, they would schedule a zoom call to go more in-depth. As living in a new country requires a fair share of legal documentation, RVF regularly schedules zoom calls, group meetings, detailed pdf documents/ powerpoints, and reminder emails from start to finish of the entire moving process. They also serve as a middleman to aid future language assistants with the more difficult task such as scheduling Spanish id appointments, finding potential housing, travelers insurance, and official translation of legal documents.

Moving abroad is not an easy task no matter how experienced one may be. As someone with anxiety, RVF helped me throughout the entire process and made me feel comfortable and confident whenever there may have been an obstacle with documentation. I could not be more grateful for the support that I have to received and currently still do that has enabled me to turn my dreams into a reality. As a result, I have acquired more opportunities for myself on an international scale. If you have ever dreamed of living life in Spain, exploring Europe, and gathering professional teaching experience, take a leap of faith with RVF international. You won't regret it!

Pros
  • Phenomanl Support
  • Top 3 Choice of Placement Gaurantee
  • Regual Info Sessions to Prepare Living Abroad
Cons
  • You Wil Recieve a Lot of Documents (but it is extremely neccessry and you will be grateful in the long run)

Highly recommended!

I highly recommend this program to teach in Spain. RVF will help you with any bureaucratic procedures both before and after arrival, the big two being securing your visa and residence permit. The workload is pretty light, as you only work 16 hours a week, 4 days a week. The pay grade varies between 700-1000 euros per month but just about everything here is significantly cheaper than in the United States which makes living here great. I never thought I would be this happy teaching Elementary school English. You can also be placed in high schools as well if that age group is more up your alley for teaching. Overall, I recommend this program for anyone looking to teach in Spain.

Pros
  • Support with Visa and Resident Permits
  • Great working hours
  • Living in Spain
Cons
  • Things with the Spanish govt that RVF has no control over
  • Spain’s slower pace of life could be jarring for some Americans

Highly Recommend!

I highly recommend RVF International if you are interested in teaching English in Spain! All team members provide utmost customer service. They assist every step of the way to help make your transition to Spain as smooth as possible. They are always available to answer questions, help manage any challenges, and provide direct support to help you along throughout the process. This program is a once in a lifetime opportunity made easy by the effort and attentiveness of such an incredible team. Lourdes and Sandra have been particularly helpful and I have been provided nothing but support and care throughout this entire journey. I truly don't think I would have been able to navigate or participate in this program without their extensive help. Thank you RVF!!

Pros
  • Timely and thorough responses
  • Extensive support and assistance throughout the entire process
  • Attentive and dedicated staff

No, I don't recommend this program

Please don't waste your money!

Most of the rateing questions here have anything to do with what RVF actually has influence over. Their website is deceptive as they claim to be a "program" when they are in fact not. They are just a service that helps you apply for Spain's NALCAP program, yet they don't mention NALCAP on their website. You can actually apply for it directly yourself and save your money and get plently of application help from the NALCAP FB community.

RVF: Deceptive, dismissive, condescending team wants your $$

Cons
  • Poor assistance after getting to Spain
  • Lack of respect towards so many who paid them money for their services
  • Deceptive advertising, written and verbal

Response from RVF International LLC

Hello Kimberly,

Thank you for your feedback, and we are sorry to hear you were disappointed with some aspects of the program. Please send us an email at hello@rvfinternational.com as we would love to learn more about your specific concerns and what you wish could have been different. Hopefully we can clear up any miscommunications or misunderstandings about the program since joining last year!

The difference with RVF International is that we are not a job or a recruitment agency like the other available option of working in Spain you mentioned, but rather a teach abroad program offering a cultural exchange experience full of support and community. We are not a job provider. We are very transparent about that and always have been.

Someone who is more independent or has been teaching already for years might not need to join a teach abroad program to achieve their ultimate goal of just finding a job in another country, but for many people joining a program like ours that offers support and community is actually the best choice for them.

If someone has extensive travel experience, transitioning to life in a new country like Spain might seem like a breeze. But for someone who doesn’t speak Spanish, or has never traveled alone to a foreign country, it can understandably be a very intimidating and scary transition.

In our experience, people that join a teach abroad program just want to come to Spain to teach and enjoy their time, and don’t want to deal with the hassles of setting up life in a new country. In many ways, it’s like the difference between fixing your leaky faucet yourself through DIY YouTube videos (searching for a job and moving abroad on your own) or hiring a specialist (teach abroad program) to just take care of it! Both are ok and valid options, and different types of people find value in both avenues.

We hope your time since finishing the program has been enjoyable and rewarding. As always, we are available to speak over email or Zoom if you need anything or would like to share more feedback. Thank you!

Best regards,

Harrison Fowler (Managing Director)

RVF International

RVF International has been such an amazing organization throughout my time in Spain! From the minute that I was interested in coming overseas, RVF immediately sent more information to create a Zoom meeting to discuss my options and who they are and what they do. They have been so helpful throughout this process and I truly don't know what I would've done without their help. Moving overseas is scary as it is, especially alone, but knowing that RVF has only been an email or Zoom meeting away has truly allowed me to keep a peace of mind and enjoy my journey. One thing that I have truly been so thankful for are the personal Zoom meetings with Lourdes to help me just calm my nerves before I made the move. I have been treated with such respect and kindness. I am thankful that RVF has made this journey flow more smoothly than trying to decipher and figure out things on my own.

Pros
  • Quick and timely email responses
  • Personal Zoom meetings
  • Kindness. You can tell that they work their hardest to provide us with what is needed.

Excellent program supported by caring and thorough staff!

I would strongly recommend RVF International to anyone looking to go overseas and teach in Spain! I cannot begin to imagine what my experience would be like here, as well as my experience trying to get here, without their help. RVF has gone above and beyond in making this extensive and complicated process as stress-free as possible. I have nothing but positive words to say about this company and how much they've helped me through all the intricate processes!

Truly an amazing support program!

Pros
  • Quick, thorough replies to questions & concerns
  • Detailed, step-by-step instructions on anything and everything you could possibly need while over here
  • Kind and caring staff

myTEFL.com connected me with RVF

Previous to RVF, I found work as an English Language Assistant in France through Greenheart. My preference for satisfaction rating with them as well as with RVF is that the program follows through with the support they say they will. They deliver.
I invested in the highest package deal with RVF and I am getting all that is promised: ad libidum email support, transparent visa process, apostille translation and help with finding housing (not securing it). If you like your hand held, I recomend RVF.

Pros
  • With the highest package deal, an apostille translator is guaranteed
  • A job is guaranteed as long as you follow through with payments (that I am aware of)
  • Ample time to prepare financially for the trip's potential costs if placed where the stipends are months delayed
Cons
  • Due to being here on a student visa, you are not crediting your hours toward a long-term visa/ citizenship for Spain
  • (Personal preference) A person that was initially part of the recruitment team departed RVF while I was there and there was no explanation offered (bummed me out about the potential work culture at RVF)
  • You cannot predict when you will need to pay your remaining latter half of the program (you pay when you find out placement: not RVF's fault, moreso raising your awareness that it is the Spanish government you must be patient with)

Questions & Answers

Hello Jeremy, Thank you for your question! Housing is independent and is not included in the program. However, our program has a very comprehensive housing assistance plan that helps our program participants find housing in Spain. On average, on average those in our program who follow our housing plan move into a fully furnished apartment in Spain within the first 48-72 hours of arriving in Spain...

It's very exciting to embark on this sort of Teach Abroad adventure with family! Currently at RVF International, we don't handle the visa process or transition process for family members. However, for anyone in the program coming to Spain with family, we are more than happy to get them in touch with English-speaking immigration lawyers in Spain who would be able to help answer all family member...

Hello Richard, Thank you for your question! You will earn anywhere between €700 EUR to €1000 EUR depending on where in Spain you'll be teaching as your monthly salary will be relative to the standard cost of living of where you'll be teaching. Doesn't sound like much? Don't worry, it is! Spain is one of the least expensive countries in all of Western Europe to live in, and you'll earn more than...
