Questions & Answers

Yes, we certainly do. Most students contact us directly with questions, which is why you might not see so many questions asked on this platform.

You do not need a degree or teacher's license to register in or complete our courses. Most of our students are not teachers and do not have a teacher's license - though some do and take our course to upgrade their credentials.

In general, our certificates are accepted around the world. Though every country sets their own rules and can change them anytime, we have not had any students indicate that their certificate was not accepted in a particular country, including China. In fact, a large number of our graduates end up working in China so we are very confident in saying that China accepts our certificate and will...

Yes, it is the same certification. We have designed and structured our courses to maximize savings for our students because we believe in affordable education. We are not the only providers in this price range - but typically others do not include all of the same elements as our course. When comparing courses, check to see if other providers include videos (we do), free international shipping (we...

Solid course for an outstanding price

The UNI-Prep course is a helpful guide to learning the basic building blocks to becoming a successful TESOL teacher. The majority of things I worried about for my time teaching were at least mentioned throughout the course. The videos and readings are fairly short, but full of good information.

While a course with practice teaching included would be nice, this course is significantly more affordable and provides a lot of good information. If you are willing to read the material and reflect upon it and apply it yourself it will be useful. Those who need the guidance of a live teacher or assistant to stay on track should be a little careful though. Overall a good experience, we will see how it applies during my first teaching job soon.

What would you improve about this program?
More comprehensive assessments, written answers, etc. would provide better progress updates. However, for the price the format is fine.

UNI-Prep's TESOL Certificate course is excellent because it provides a lot of useful information. I especially like the unit on Classroom Management which includes a section on Strategies for Establishing a Healthy Learning Environment. It talks about how students should be motivated, how classroom activities should demand a high level of student involvement and how to manage and eliminate student anxiety.

Unit Prep 120 hour certificate

I have three years experience teaching ESL in South Korea and I wasn't sure how useful some online instruction would be but I really enjoyed it. I learned a lot more than I thought I would. I will continue to read over their materials. The tests are fair and although watching the videos would not be necessary to pass the test, they are worth it for reinforcement. I would recommend this certificate program to anyone who is unsure.

My experience with the UNI-Prep TESOL course was a positive one. I really enjoyed the format of each lesson. The quizzes were challenging and they really made you think about what you've read throughly. Overall this was a really great course for learning the basics of Teaching English. This course will give you a lot of information about the steps of teaching english to the best of your ability.I really enjoyed the courses and that you can go at your own pace. I look forward to using the certificate in teaching abroad. Thank you so much!

Comprehensive TESOL Course

Thank you for such a well-structured TESOL course, which I've just finished. The course is very well-organized, providing great knowledge and teaching methods for any future TESOL teachers. With videos, the learning process is even simpler and I was able to finish all the lessons within one month at my own pace. The things I've learned here will definitely help me a lot in designing my lesson plans.

Great experience!

It was a great course in which I have had a refreshment about teaching English . Even though I am an experienced teacher , this course was beneficial for me . I liked the fact that it can be completed on your own pace . I have also liked the way quizzes were structured and that the PDF documents could be kept to be looked at anytime you wish . I had a problem with the audio in the videos but the information was great and useful so we may close an eye on that . I have already recommended this course to some of my colleagues who are great English teachers but don't have the necessary training and certifications . All the best .

What would you improve about this program?
The sound of the video could be a bit better.

Quick and Thorough

This is a high quality, highly affordable, and quick TESOL course. Whether or not you have background in education, this course lives to its promise of being quick, but still thorough at the same time.

I was actually able to blast through the quizzes within a day. I'm a fast reader and I minored in education. However, I still went through the work and I was happy to have spent the $250 as I was still able to learn more! Each unit took approximately 1 - 2 1/2 hours which included the reading and video elements. Passing the quiz on the first try is really simple so as long as you read, watched the videos, and took notes on both.

Though I finished within a day, I don't fully recommend doing that. However, if you have nothing planned for a day, you surely can finish this course. But even if you have a really busy schedule, you can finish this course within 10 days so as long as you do 1 unit a day (which is basically setting aside 2 hours our of your day to finish).

What would you improve about this program?
Making more extensive quizzes with short answer and filling in the blanks, rather than just multiple choice.

Having a final exam at the very end.

Good Basic Info and Supplemental Aids

I'm an experienced teacher and have a Masters, but have never taught ESL. I'm going to Asia and thought a TESOL certificate might help me pay for the trip. The first 1/3 of these lessons are well structured for students with little or no teaching experience in any field. But, beginning with lesson 5 to the end, I learned key words and important strategies specific to teaching non-native English speakers. There are also numerous supplemental teaching aids offered for those of us building a curriculum from scratch.
