Best learning experience.

The experience was great firstly because I was given enough time to work through the course and complete it. Secondly the weekly webinars were very helpful in guiding me through the course work. Thirdly, the tutors are very helpful through their platform/forums, and you can email them anytime and their replies are timeously. They give detailed feedback on assignments which helps a great deal if you didn't pass the first time. The course is full of informative knowledge for anyone embarking on their teaching journey. All in all, I recommend the TEFL academy if you want to study to become an EFL teacher

Valuable experience

This was a great value for money training course, with a high level of training. Very useful forums and youtube videos provided as part of the course content.
This course met my needs so that I could look for work as an English language tutor.
I was able to complete modules at my convenience, fitting this in with other commitments.
The opportunity to meet with fellow students would have been nice but this was not available in my region so on-line was the best option for me.
There is also the option for the TEFL Academy to help with applying for jobs and writing a CV.

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
I would have done this course sooner.
Pros
  • Improve employment prospects
  • Help in finding employment
  • Value for money
Cons
  • Difficult to motivate on-line
  • No inter-personal contact
  • Too many acronyms

Level 3 TEFL Review

Hi, I’m a 20 year old university student who completed the course for after I get my bachelors so that way I can teach abroad. I found that I really enjoyed the course especially the platform because online school makes it much easier to complete work whenever I like. Also the site chosen is easy to maneuver. I found the only thing I would hope to improve would be the engagement of the course. I felt like if there were some more mini assignments or tests it would help me put into practice the material being taught.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
I would say the first assignment was nerve wrecking! Creating a lesson plan for the very first time can be stressful and there were some challenges for me in terms of trying to come up with something cohesive especially to suit the selected student group.
Pros
  • Teaches different teaching strategies
  • Practice making lesson plans
  • Explained potential future hurdles in my career path
Cons
  • Didn’t always know if I was absorbing the material fully
  • Prefer slides over videos

Great course, website a bit cumbersome to navigate, however content was good. Enjoyed being able to do it in my own time.

Lane Q TEFL

I started this TEFL program when I was unemployed. It was a great hope for me that I would be able to teach foreign students something I was already very skilled in. My goal is to move to Japan and teach people English, possibly even how to do broadcasting in English. I looked at many different programs and it seemed this was the best product for the price. I started a new job half way through my course but was still able to dedicate some time to finishing the assignments. I think there are a few too many videos.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
It's easier than you think. Just follow the directions on the assignment and don't be afraid to get it wrong the first time.
Pros
  • Resume building
  • Personal achievement
  • Hope
Cons
  • Dry
  • Kind of boring
  • Hard to keep motivated

Comprehensive program

I recently completed the 120-hour Level 3 TEFL course, and I must say it was an incredibly enriching experience. This comprehensive program provided me with a solid foundation in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL), equipping me with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in this field.

One of the standout features of this course was its well-structured curriculum. The modules were meticulously organized, covering a wide range of topics essential for effective language teaching. From lesson planning and classroom management to language analysis and cultural sensitivity, each module was designed to address key aspects of teaching English to non-native speakers.

What made my experience unique?

Coming into this course I was both excited and anxious. I made the decision of looking at a couple of reviews online before deciding on this company. As a result, my experience has been educational, enriching and hopefully rewarding. Overall, the unique combination of comprehensive training, practical experience, individualized support, accreditation, and career development opportunities makes the course experience a valuable investment for any individual aspiring to become Foreign English Teacher.

What was your funniest moment?
Definitely, the creative lesson plan. Having being able to design a lesson plan and create teaching materials allowed me to tap into my creativity and innovation. In addition, I was able to develop engaging activities and resources tailored to the needs and interests of learners which made me very fun as much as challenging.
Pros
  • I enjoyed the practical exercises. Very educational and gives you confident and helps develop necessary skills.
  • The content was honestly amazing. Reminded me of primary. It offered comprehensive training on various aspects.
  • Lastly, having to obtain a internationally recognized certificate.
Cons
  • Time and commitment. I honestly though 6 months would be enough. However, I ended up losing tract of time.
  • Cost. Yes, I had a very big discount. However, having no one to offer assistant made it seem unreasonable but it was worth it.
  • Varied quality. This basically supports my second con, which is to say I would have preferred the Level 5 course because of its benefits.

A rich learning experience

The experience was very rich. I learnt a lot. One always thinks teaching english is an easy task if you speak the language. The topic i found most interesting was personal reflection after lesson. It has even helped me in my general life to diarise personal stuff. My plan now is to look for an online job and thanks to the support from TEFL it has been made easier. The course assignments were very tough. The support given by the team helped. Attending the online class was very helpful. Thank you for the great course.

What was your funniest moment?
The funniest moment must have been preparing the assignments. You write something and think it’s correct but when you revise your work and research more you actually see you off track. Thinking about it now it really is funny.
Pros
  • The support was really good.
  • The feedback from assignments was useful.
  • The website and reference material was top notch.
Cons
  • The multiple choice question were a bit tricky.
  • The assignment was questions were a bit confusing.
  • The support online can take a bit of some time.
