What a valuable program! I really enjoyed the course as it was also very informative and educational. The platform presentation is also very professional, structured appropriately and makes for easy learning.Apart from teaching a variety of learners online, I will also be applying what I have learned in my tertiary education lecturing classes. I would definitely recommend the program for teaching english to young and adult learners. It is also a globally recognized program so it will definitely be worth its weight in gold abroad as well.

What would you improve about this program?

Perhaps touching on business english as well and incorporating elements of that into the course.

I started the TEFL course last year December and I really enjoyed doing the course. The TEFL Academy provided me with all the materials that I needed to be able to complete the course. The TEFL Academy gave me interesting materials and allowed me to grow as a teacher. The in class section of the course was really interesting and gave me excellent practice and guidance for teaching students in the future. The course was really well presented and is definitely recommended to anyone who would like to teach.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?

My most nerve-racking moment was teaching the in class teaching section. I overcame this with great support from the mentor at the in class event and the support from fellow students.

The Level 5 course was challenging and it was really interesting....the academic content was really informative, I honestly learned a lot from this course, both fro the academic content and research links provided in the course. I love that the course was self paced, I was able to take my time on the more challenging sections without having to be concerned that I was going to run out of time. both the technical and academic staff are extremely helpful, I would definitely recommend this program to anyone who wants to do an esl course.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?

The most nerve wracking experience was having to wait for my final results, I literally checked my emails 6-7 times a day. Eventually I got my results and was beyond relieved to get a pass result

When you think about becoming a teacher, remember that as a teacher you are an instrument in shaping someone's future. This is a comprehensive study course, so plan well ahead to finish the course in the allotted timeframe. It is well structured and the assignments will need time, should you want to get a good grade. When you receive your certificate, it is well deserved and you can start working with confidence. Being a TEFL graduate, you are globally available and you can shape your route while shaping some other futures.

What would you improve about this program?

I would like to have some kind of (electronic) handbook for future reference.

I thoroughly enjoyed the TEFL experience - the material was great, practical and relevant which is beneficial to teaching English as a foreign language. The course balanced a whole range of things from grammar right through to classroom management which was so valuable. Undeniably, the assistance of the people from the TEFL Academy which included admin and tutors was exceptional with a quick turnover time and always so willing to assist. The feedback on assignments was always constructive. A great experience!

The Level 5 TEFL course was a very comprehensive and challenging course, definitely worth more than the money put in. It gave you access to world class content which are not readily accessible anywhere else and presented these in very organised units. I found the numerous links and further reading articles very helpful too.The assignments will push you to research and you'd be grateful you did because at the end of the day, you'd be more knowledgeable, more professional and ready to take the world of ESL teaching. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

What would you improve about this program?

Definitely the time it took to grade the assignments. Quite a long wait.

What a fun way to learn a new skill! Coming from a traditional teaching background I've learned so many new skills to enhance my teaching. The course material was presented in a simple and straight forward manner that made it easy to follow(considering I completed my original degree in 2002, this was important to me). The assignments were challenging but by following the instructions provider it was easy to complete and pass on my first try. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone looking for a way to challenge themselves or anyone looking for an adventure. After completing the course I received many helpful tips on Cv writing and job opportunities to take me forward on my TEFL journey. Thank you TEFL Academy for making me a better teacher!

Being in one of the hardest hit industries in the country, tourism, I deemed it necessary to change direction, and after much research The TEFL Academy course seemed to be the best value. I was not mistaken!
It is an intensive course covering quite a bit of grammar and writing skill. The emphasis is always that we do not need to create the next Shakespeare, but to give our learners to become confident to use the language productively. I loved that the course was performance based and of some substance, and not just a certificate of attendance.

What was your funniest moment?

When I did one of the assignments, I felt as if I channelled one of my teachers in school!

What is one piece of advice you'd give to someone going on your program?

The one piece of advice I would give is to plan ahead and to do your best. Worrying and stressing won't help you. The resources, as well as the markers, are there to assist and help you achieve your best. Planning ahead is beneficial as you do not want to get stuck with a pile of work and then have to ask for an extension. Just do your absolute best and you will reap the rewards.

What does an average day/week look like as a participant of this program?

The TEFL course spanned over a period of 6 months which gave me ample time to complete my course accordingly. Some units take more time than others to complete, but if you plan and stick to that plan, you will not have a problem. The TEFL site also makes it easy and exciting to learn so that you do not get bored or frustrated during your study session.

Going into your experience abroad, what was your biggest fear, and how did you overcome it? How did your views on the issue change?

I have no been abroad yet for TEFL teaching, but I am surely looking into it. I would love to travel to Asia, as I have been to India once and I absolutely loved it. I would like to visit Japan, South Korea, and China as a TEFL teacher and hopefully start my career there. I look forward to new experiences and challenges.

Any other tips for any prospective traveler?

India is a fantastic country, not quite like what I initially perceived it to be. The people are genuine and the country itself is a true wonder. My advice to anyone traveling there is to absorb as much as he/she/they can. India is rich with culture and history, full of diversity. Visiting places such as the Taj Mahal brings a totally different feeling, the atmosphere is spectacular. India is a beautiful country and so are its people.
