Fantastic opportunity to experience the country and its people

Angloville is an amazing opportunity for native speakers and English Teachers to experience the country, its people and make lifelong friendships.
A day before the program Angloville offers an amazing tour of Warsaw, not mandatory but definitely recommendable as you will get a chance to meet everyone and learn more about this great city.

You'll spend six days at a secluded, picturesque venue in Poland, dining and socialising with everyone, creating an idea of what it's like to live in an English speaking country for Polish participants and yes, they will love it as much you will love the process of giving them this unique opportunity.
Days start with breakfasts where you will be asked to make sure the number of native speakers and Polish participants at the table is about the same. This applies for lunch and dinner as well. At first, before you get to know everyone, this might be a bit out of your comfort zone but trust me, as days go by and you establish bonds with everyone around you, this will come with ease.
Each day you will have both one-on-one sessions with different people and one hour with your mentee where you help them prepare a short presentation of their choice. This can be anything from their life, work or hobbies, the most important thing is that the subject is something they feel comfortable talking about.
Be ready for fun activities like volleyball, paddle boating and cycling in your free time or during lunch breaks or, if you wish, during one-on-one sessions as well. I had the most amazing time walking around the lake and exploring the venue with my mentee during our sessions.

Scavenger hunts, charades, group activities, barbecues, even horseback riding are just some of the many things waiting for you at the venue. I can not imagine a better holiday and a more relaxing way to teach English.
Come armed with positive energy, great attitude and an open mind to experience everything this program has to offer and I guarantee this will turn out to be one of the best things you've ever done.
Don't be surprised by a few friendly pranks from your fellow participants as you will completely submerge into the summer camp experience, it's all in good fun!
I guarantee great food, fantastic energy and probably a group of the most amazing people you will ever meet.

Enjoy Angloville

What would you improve about this program?

Probably the best thing I've ever done

You take a bus to the hotel and then meet the Polish participants. It was awkward for about 5 minutes before you get to know them. It's a week of talking, laughing and making friends. You have breakfast at 9am and social time finishes at 8.30pm. It's all day but you can go for walks, hikes etc in the 1:1 which you have. You change participants every hour. You share a room with another native English and it's an amazing way to make friends. Our group was very social and we stayed up late nearly every evening. The participants are intelligent, funny and great to be around. I wouldn't recommend for unsociable people, you need to have a personality and things to talk about. There's no written or actual work, there are even lists of things to talk about if you can't think of anything to say. It's a very full on week and if you're interested in learning about Poland, you'll be blown away!! For me it was the best week of my life, I had never volunteered before like this and I will be doing it again next year.

What would you improve about this program?
More hands on activities in the local area perhaps to use language more functionally- but in the winter you can ski on the hotel grounds so maybe it depends when you go!

My Angloville experience

Overall a great programme, a lot of conversations, great people from all over the country, many stories, many great moments shared. Would definitely do it again!
Each day we had a chance to participate in a number of activities. I have learnt so much about Poland. The people here made it so special, I am definitely going to stay in touch with many of them.
The venue was really nice. Very charming location in the mountains. The standard of the hotel was very good.

Questions & Answers

The two companies I have used for this so far are Angloville and VaughanTown. The enquirer needs to visit their websites and discover what the conditions are. There is availability throughout the year and quite often spaces available on trips at short notice that may not yet have been filled. Angloville has a Facebook page also. volunteers.grupovaughan.com/what-we-do/vaughan-town angloville.com
