Successful Experience in China

My expectation to have such a great and successful experience was 100% right. The Go Abroad Chinese program really fantastic and useful training was very helpful to accumulate new skills and to have a realistic view of an eventuality occupation. I will definitely come again.

GO Abroad China team very friendly and helpful staff they guide me throw everything step by step big thanks to Lucy.

My name is Amy from South Australia im 21 years old. My program was an internship program in the marketing section with GAC would have to be one of the best experiences of my life. From the weekend trips with GAC to making friends from all around the world, there was always something fun and exciting to keep you entertained. The staff at GAC were very helpful, whether it was a trip to the doctors or the post office, they were always happy to help and translate if needed. The weekend activities are a great way to make friends as well as finding out about China's heritage and culture. I can't wait to come back and do it all again next year!!
My experience was amazing to learn and discover new life experience and I was differently lucky to be with Go Abroad China

The GAC staff worked hard at helping me learn Mandarin Chinese, setting up tours, helping me with day-to-day living, though especially with making me feel welcome and seeing me feel comfortable in China! My biggest regret is not having more time

What is your favorite travel memory?

One of my favorite travel memories was exploring Beijing’s historic hutongs while meeting local families who welcomed me with tea and stories about their traditions. It reminded me that travel is not just about seeing new places, but also about connecting with people and cultures on a personal level. That experience gave me a deeper appreciation for the kind of cultural immersion we provide at Go Abroad China. Just like I felt welcomed and enriched, I want every student who joins our programs to leave China with unforgettable memories, lifelong friendships, and a stronger sense of the world beyond their comfort zone.
 

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

Working with Go Abroad China has transformed the way I see education and global careers. I’ve grown more aware of how meaningful international experiences can be in shaping young people’s futures. I’ve developed stronger communication skills by interacting with students from different backgrounds, and I’ve learned the importance of tailoring opportunities to match individual goals. On a personal level, I’ve become more patient, adaptable, and culturally aware, qualities that I believe are essential in today’s interconnected world. Every time I help a student take their first step abroad, I’m reminded of the impact this work has, and that motivates me to continue growing professionally and personally.
 

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

One of the most inspiring stories I heard was from a student who joined our internship program with little confidence in her skills. She was placed at a Fortune 500 company in Shanghai, and at first, she was nervous about meeting expectations. But with support from her mentor and colleagues, she grew into her role, contributed to major projects, and even received a full-time job offer after graduation. When she shared her story, she said that the experience completely changed her career path and gave her the confidence she never thought she had. Stories like hers show the real impact of our programs—not just on resumes, but on personal growth and self-belief.
 

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

If I could join one of our programs, I would choose the Chinese Language Immersion Program combined with a homestay experience. For me, language is a gateway to understanding culture on a deeper level. While internships give valuable professional skills, living with a host family and learning Mandarin directly from daily life allows for a unique cultural connection. It’s an opportunity to not only improve language fluency but also gain insight into traditions, values, and perspectives that shape modern China. Personally, I think this program best represents the heart of Go Abroad China—authentic cultural immersion, meaningful connections, and lifelong learning.
 

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

What makes Go Abroad China unique is the way we combine professional development with cultural immersion. We don’t just place students in internships—we make sure they are supported with mentoring, accommodation, language training, and community activities. I was especially proud of our team when we continued supporting students virtually during challenging times, ensuring that they still had access to meaningful internships and learning opportunities despite global restrictions. That adaptability and dedication showed me that our team is deeply committed to student success, no matter the circumstances. We truly care about creating transformative experiences, and I believe that’s what sets us apart from others in the field.
 

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

I believe the biggest factor in being a successful company is trust—both with partners and students. Students and parents need to know that we will deliver a safe, reliable, and valuable experience. Companies need to trust that we provide them with motivated interns who are ready to learn. Building that trust requires transparency, consistency, and genuine care for people.
