Hospitality and Tourism Interns

South Africa receives millions of tourists every year thanks to its beautiful white beaches, exciting sports activities, and diverse wildlife. As our organisation grows, so does our family, and we want you to be a part of it. We offer a variety of internships across multiple different areas of SAVE, as well as within organisations we work closely with. Our interns immediately become part of our family and are integral for the smooth running and impactful work that is being done.

Education Interns

South Africa has many challenges and the education sector is no exception. Only 20% of state expenditure is allocated to the government education department. Your internship will have different directions, from working as a teacher’s assistant, mentoring students, doing research on the education policies, fundraising and contributing to the development of the school or centre.

Pre-vet internship

Our course is designed for students interested in animals, wanting to apply to vet school, or first year vet students looking to explore or enter the professional fields of veterinary science, animal welfare and animal management. Categorized into three distinct learning areas, we provide a theoretical and hands on approach to learning as it applies to African Wildlife, agricultural livestock and domestic animals.

Sports and Youth Intern

Children of whom are living within the settlements have a huge need for youth development projects in which they have the opportunity to learn valuable life skills such as teamwork, structure and discipline. All of which uplifts their self-esteem through the realisation of talent and ability.

Marketing and planning

Through your internship program, you will gain new skills as well as develop upon old ones. You will be given the responsibility and mentorship to grow within your program as well as the positive role models you need to succeed. The work you will do will have a huge impact on the projects and leave a lasting impact here in South Africa.

Community Work

The settlement is home to 3500 people living between 400 housing units. There is no police station, medical facilities, shopping areas or job opportunities. However, there are security guards often patrolling to maintain a safe environment for the residents. SAVE assists the communities through specific programs such as “Winter Hope”, assisting and educating communities in agriculture projects. We engage the community members in regular education, motivation and social upliftment programs.
