I’ve had so much fun in Chengdu so far. This had been the first time I’ve gone to China and it’s really special to me. Everyone is incredibly nice and the accommodations at Keats are a lot more than I thought they’d be. I love the weekly activities and how nice the staff is even when they can’t understand the English I’m saying. It puts me at ease that they are understanding. I also really like my teacher. At first I was confused because my curriculum is different from other students but after a week i understand the lessons she plans really help me and my way of learning. I like the sentence game we play with hanzi at the beginning of every class and I think it’s helping put me further in the learning process than I thought. There’s a lot I was scared about before learning but she has really put me at ease. She’s very nice and friendly and even gave me a gift on the first day which makes me feel so grateful. I I’m glad I got put with a teacher I feel like I can relate to because it makes me feel like learning is easier and less stressful. Usually I think I’d want to leave a class back in America because it gets tiring but I don’t feel tired or upset in my class. I also really appreciate Claire and how nice she is to all of the students here. She also makes me feel at home and I like when she takes us on activities, it made me less nervous to go outside and explore the city on my own. The first day I came here I went outside and wandered around and wasn’t sure if I’d make any friends or have any fun, but now I know being here is so much fun and I want to plan to come back next year as well. I don’t think I expected to like my school this much. Its not a university so it feels more at home and more family oriented. I feel like I belong. From what I’ve heard from other classmates they also agree and it makes me want to go to Keats in other cities too such as Kunming which I’ve heard a lot about and seems really great. My family was nervous for me going so far abroad but with Keats even picking me up from the airport when I first got here I have no worries I know I’m in good hands. I’ve met so many people and I love to go shopping and see the night life after class. It’s so different and makes me want to stay in Chengdu longer. I hope I get to come back soon and if I do I want to see Claire again and also if I could also have my same teacher. I wish I could see ever aspect of this city in my 4 weeks remaining here. I hope this place can be a new home for me one day.

I studied here for two weeks. I had absolutely no prior background in the language, but I found the classes with Teacher Kong to be really fun. The teacher makes lessons enjoyable and explains meanings very clearly.

During the first week, we learned simple vocabulary. By the following week, the words and sentences became more challenging. There was vocabulary to memorize; the teacher would write words on note cards—with Pinyin and the meaning on the back—every day. It took some time to memorize them, but it was certainly doable with a bit of determination. As for writing, we were given worksheets to practice Chinese characters—two pages a day—which also required some time and effort.

After afternoon classes, we could go out with the school in the evenings. There were planned activities each day: Mondays involved watching Chinese movies—easy-to-follow ones with English subtitles. Tuesdays and Wednesdays featured activities like art classes, park visits, or trips to local markets. Thursdays were for sports; playing badminton was great fun and a good workout. Fridays were dedicated to food, such as hotpot or Yunnan-style cuisine.

The students here come from diverse backgrounds; there were few Thais, but I met people from the UK, Spain, and Italy. We communicated using a mix of Chinese and—mostly—English. 😆😆😆

The weather in Kunming is pleasant—not too cold. I studied in September; while other parts of China might be hot then, Kunming stays cool year-round. It’s absolutely wonderful.

On weekends, I went out with my classmates. We visited Bijie to climb the snow-capped mountains—a unique, unforgettable experience.

The dormitory was very convenient and located close to the classrooms.

พอเรียนเสร็จตอนบ่ายก่อสามารถไปเที่ยวได้กับทางรร.ในต้องเย็นได้ จะมีกิจกรรมให้ในแต่ละวันว่าจะพาไปไหน วันจันทร์เป็นดูหนังจีน เป็นหนังที่เข้าใจง่ายๆ มีซับภาษาอังกฤษ ส่วนวันอังคาร-พุธ จะพาไปทำกิจกรรม เช่น ทำพักวาดรูป หรือทพาไปสวน ไปตลาด ส่วนวันพฤหัสจะ้ป็นกีฬา ได้ไปแบดบินตันสนุกมาก เรียกเหงื่อได้ดี ส่วนวันศุกร์จะเป็นพาไปกินอาหาร หม้อไฟ หรืออาจารย์จีนยูนนาน

เพื่อนๆที่นี้มีหลายเชื้อชาติ คนไทยจะมีน้อย ส่วนใหญ่ เจอคนอังกฤษ สเปน อิตาลี คุยกัน ภาษาจีนบ้าง อังกฤษส่วนใหญ่ 😆😆😆

อากาศที่คุนหมิงก่อดีไม่หนาวเกินไป มาเรียนช่วงเดือนกันยายน ถ้าเป็นที่อื่นของจียก่อจะร้อน แต่คุนหมิงอากาศเย็นทั้งปี ดีสุดยอดไปเลย

สุดสัปดาห์ก่อได้มีออกไปเที่ยวกับเพื่อนๆที่เรียนด้วยกัน พากันไปบี่เจี่ยงไปขึ้นภูเขาหิมะ เป็นประสบการณ์ใหม่ๆ ที่หาไม่ได้ ตอนนี้เมื่อเรียนจบแล้ว

My experience at Keats is fantastic! There are a lot of lovely people: teachers and classmates. Teacher Jiang is professionale, funny and she help us with everything! The school is beautiful, the room very clean. The food served in the canteen is good. You feel always like at home! The center of Kunming is at 10 minute a on foot and it's very beautiful! Keats is the best choice for studying Chinese. I arrived without knowing any Chinese and far from home, and now I’m leaving having made many friends, found a place that feels like home, and learned to speak Chinese. I hope to find the time to come back here!

Lydia is a fantastic teacher, and I had the best time learning with her. She taught me so much about Chinese culture and recommended places and things to do based on my personal taste, which I really appreciated. She made learning Chinese so enjoyable, and I loved how she covered everything from grammar to writing, while also making the lessons fun and engaging. I definitely feel like I’ve gained much more confidence in speaking Chinese and memorised so many new words. I always looked forward to our lessons and genuinely feel like I learned so much during my time with her. She was always patient, encouraging, and made every lesson feel personal and interesting.

Coming to China this time, through studying I learned a lot of content I didn't know before. The teachers taught me very warmly. Although my memory isn't very good, Teacher Qin was never impatient with me, and patiently taught me many words I didn't know. Whenever I ran into difficulties, she often helped me. I'm grateful for her help, and if I have the chance, I'd like to come study again.

The school in Chengdu is very convenient, it saved me time, and there was also very delicious food, which satisfied me. There are beautiful scenic spots and lots of scenery — I went to the Giant Panda Base, Dujiangyan, and Wuhou Shrine, and then I ate dandan noodles. On the weekend I also went to Xi'an, those places were great fun, and I saw the Terracotta Warriors there. I also want to go to Jiuzhaigou and Daocheng Yading, and in the end I did go to Daocheng Yading. The air there is very fresh, and I loved looking at the scenery, which made me feel very happy.

The noodles in Xi'an were huge — I couldn't finish them by myself. I ate the meat and a little of the vegetables, but there were still a lot of noodles left. I learned that the north and south are different; in the north the portions are big.

When I saw the giant pandas, they were really cute. I bought a lot of panda souvenirs — I might go broke buying panda souvenirs! I took dozens of photos of the pandas to show my friends, and they liked them too. It was my first time seeing a panda, so the way they looked got me really excited.

I'm interested in the history of the Three Kingdoms, and I didn't expect there to be a place like that in Chengdu. I like Liu Bei, because he was a person of benevolence and virtue. Through Wuhou Shrine, I relearned the history of the Three Kingdoms. I also visited Du Fu's Thatched Cottage — that place was very peaceful.

这次来中国，我通过学习，学会了很多以前不认识的内容，老师们非常热情的教我，虽然我记性有一点点不好，但是每次秦老师都不生气，很亲切的教我很多不会的词汇，我遇到困难的时候，她经常帮助我。我感谢她的帮助，如果我有机会，下次也再来学习。成都的学校很方便，我节省了时间，也有很好吃的东西，让我有点满足，有很好看的景点，风景很多，我去了大熊猫基地和都江堰武侯祠，然后我吃了担担面，我在周末的时候我也去了西安，那些地方很好玩，在西安看了兵马俑，我还要去九寨沟和稻城亚丁玩，最后去稻城亚丁。那边的空气很清新，我喜欢去看那边的景色，这让我心里很愉快，西安的面条儿很大，我一个人没有吃完，吃了肉，吃了一点点的菜，面条还有很多，我知道了北方和南方不同，北方大菜很大。在看大熊猫的时候，大熊猫真的很可爱，我买了很多关于大熊猫的纪念品，我会为了买了大熊猫的纪念品，我会破产。我照了大熊猫几十张照片，给朋友看，她们也喜欢。我第一次看到大熊猫，所以大熊猫的样子让我激动。我对三国志的历史感兴趣，我没想到在成都有那样的地方，我喜欢刘备，因为刘备是有仁德的人，通过武侯祠，我重新学了三国志的历史。杜甫的草堂我去看了，那个地方非常安静。

-Very very helpful staff members (Wang and Willow) who were ready to help me with any problem that may have occurred (e.g. setting up AliPay, SIM card…)
-4 hours of 1 on 1 Classes from Monday to Friday
-Two very enthusiastic teachers, Ms. Jiang 奖 and Ms. Li 李, who let me shape the classes to my exact needs.
-Summary of every lesson after class with the new vocabulary learnt and additional homework if wanted.

I was in 北京 for the last 10 days. It was the best experience of my life. School was part of it and my teachers made it fun, unforgettable, interesting and I obviously learned a lot of things. The lessons were great and our teacher taught us in a very good way so we could all learn and understand well what she just explained. Beside school we had all the guides and those were the best part, we bonded so well and had a great time with them and their kindness. I loved them and I thank them for everything, so glad I could do this with them!

Sono molto soddisfatta dell'esperienza appena conclusa. In primo luogo, il corso che ho seguito è stato molto utile, mi ha permesso di imparare cose nuove e soprattutto un cinese autentico, che era esattamente quello che cercavo. La mia insegante ha usato molti metodi differenti per le esercitazioni e ha sempre spiegato tutte le parole nuove con precisione, dandomi esempi chiari e spendibili nel quotidiano. Mi sento molto più pronta ad affrontare l'HSK6.
Per quanto riguarda l'homestay, la famiglia che mi ha ospitato è estremamente gentile e accogliente. Si sono sempre resi disponibili per aiutarmi o per darmi consigli; qualche volta siamo usciti insieme, per esempio a cena o alle terme. La casa era sempre pulita e in ordine, la mia stanza era perfetta. Per non parlare del cibo, ottimo! Ogni giorno mi preparavano cibi diversi e tutti squisiti.
Riguardo la città, questa è la mia terza volta a Kunming e ho scelto di tornare qui perché mi dà una sensazione di tranquillità e ovviamente di comodità. Non essendo una città grandissima è tutto molto più vivibile; mi piacciono molto il verde e il clima che ci sono qui.

I came to Chengdu to study Chinese for two weeks. My experience was shaped by my teacher. She was understanding, patient, and attentive. She cared not only about my language progress but also about my comfort in the city, helping with logistics beyond her duty. She made class enjoyable and helped me understand difficult basic concepts. She checked my homework and guided me to correct mistakes. I would highlight three points: teachers, cooks, and cozy atmosphere. The food was incredible; the cooks were exceptional, so I did not need to eat outside. Hygiene was excellent. The academy was not overcrowded. There were cultural activities, and the environment was calm, friendly, and cheerful. Other teachers talked with students during meals, encouraging us to practice Chinese. Overall very good. If I return, it will be because of my very good teacher and the excellent cooks.

The teacher's teaching style was excellent. Even when I made a mistake, she patiently corrected me. Although it was an only short period, I was able to truly feel my Chinese improving thanks to my teacher.
The learning environment was also good. The dormitory is clean and the food is good. There's a gym, so you can exercise after studying. Kunming, where I spent time, is particularly pleasant because it's not too hot even in the summer season.
Overall, my stay at Keats was very enjoyable and educational. Thanks to all the staff at Keats!
