Essere stata a Pechino per otto giorni è stata un avventura. Ho conosciuto nuove persone in un ambiente totalmente diverso.Le professoresse con cui sono stata sono state molto di supporto e sono state sempre presenti. La professoressa cinese che ci insegnava era molto cordiale e divertente e ci ha aiutato tantissimo ad apprendere la lingua nella vita reale.La scuola era molto vicino a dove alloggiavamo, era molto accogliente e nuova. L'esperienza fatta mi lascerà sempre un bel ricordo di Pechino: persone, abitudini, cultura e cibo. Vivere veramente cio che continuo a studiare da ormai tre anni è stata un emozione unica. Un esperienza del genere mi ha aiutato a capire come comportami quando non ho i miei genitori accanto, a fare amicizia con altre persone e a osservare un mondo diverse dal mio. Spero di tornare presto a Pechino e in altre città.

Being in Beijing for eight days was an adventure. I met new people in a completely different environment. The teachers I studied with were very supportive and always there for me. The Chinese teacher who taught us was very friendly
and fun, and she helped us a lot learn the language in real life. The school was very close to where we were staying, and it was very welcoming and new. The experience I had will always leave me with fond memories of Beijing: the people, the customs, the culture, and the food. Truly experiencing what I've been studying for three years now was a unique experience. An experience like this helped me understand how to behave when my parents are away, make friends with other people, and observe a world different from my own. I hope to return to Beijing and other cities soon.

It was my first time in the city and in the country and I cannot say less that I’m more than satisfied and happy either way with my experience. The school and the hotel were basically door to door and that allowed me to not have more stress over transportation. The services provided by the hotel were excellent and the school supported us and helped us in every way possible, providing lunch, transportation, visits.

Also, the lessons were really engraving and I found interesting their teaching being majorly in Chinese, in this way I could developed my listening. The activities were engaging, fun and relaxing. They were not just grammar lessons but also deepening into the Chinese culture through art workshops.

Frequentare la Keats a Chengdu è stata una delle esperienze più belle e formative della mia vita. Fin dal primo giorno mi sono sentito accolto in un ambiente stimolante, internazionale e allo stesso tempo familiare. L’organizzazione è impeccabile e ogni dettaglio è curato con attenzione, permettendo agli studenti di concentrarsi completamente sull’apprendimento e sulla scoperta della cultura cinese.

Uno dei punti di forza assoluti di questa esperienza è stata l’insegnante Amber. È davvero bravissima: preparata, paziente, sempre sorridente e capace di rendere ogni lezione interessante e coinvolgente. Grazie al suo metodo chiaro e dinamico, ho imparato un sacco di cose in poco tempo, migliorando non solo la mia conoscenza della lingua, ma anche la mia sicurezza nel parlare. Amber riesce a creare un ambiente positivo in classe, dove non si ha paura di sbagliare e si è sempre incoraggiati a fare del proprio meglio.

Oltre alle lezioni, la Keats offre tantissime attività culturali e opportunità per esplorare Chengdu e i suoi dintorni. Grazie a loro abbiamo visitato un sacco di posti bellissimi, dai templi tradizionali ai parchi naturali, fino ai vivaci mercati locali. Ogni escursione è stata organizzata in modo eccellente e ci ha permesso di immergerci davvero nella cultura locale. Chengdu è una città affascinante, ricca di storia ma anche moderna e dinamica, e viverla da studente della Keats è stato un vero privilegio.

La cultura cinese mi ha colpito profondamente: è affascinante, ricca di tradizioni e valori che si percepiscono in ogni aspetto della vita quotidiana. Anche le persone sono state una splendida sorpresa: sempre cordiali, disponibili e curiose di conoscere studenti stranieri. Questo ha reso l’esperienza ancora più autentica e piacevole, facendomi sentire parte di qualcosa di speciale.

Un altro aspetto che merita una menzione speciale è il cibo. Voglio fare i complimenti alla cuoca della Keats, che è davvero bravissima. Ogni pasto era delizioso, vario e preparato con grande cura. Ho avuto l’opportunità di provare piatti tipici della cucina cinese e ogni giorno era una nuova scoperta di sapori. Anche questo ha contribuito a rendere l’esperienza ancora più completa e memorabile.

In conclusione, il tempo trascorso alla Keats di Chengdu è stato semplicemente magico. Ho imparato tantissimo, ho conosciuto persone meravigliose e ho vissuto momenti che porterò sempre con me. Consiglio questa scuola a chiunque voglia studiare il cinese in modo serio ma anche vivere un’esperienza culturale unica. Spero davvero di poter tornare in futuro e rivivere, anche solo in parte, questa splendida avventura.

Amber creates a positive classroom environment where there's no fear of making mistakes and you're always encouraged to do your best.

In addition to lessons, Keats offers numerous cultural activities and opportunities to explore Chengdu and its surroundings. Thanks to them, we visited many beautiful places, from traditional temples to natural parks to vibrant local markets. Each excursion was excellently organized and allowed us to truly immerse ourselves in the local culture. Chengdu is a fascinating city, rich in history yet also modern and dynamic, and experiencing it as a Keats student was a true privilege.

Chinese culture deeply impressed me: it's fascinating, rich in traditions and values ​​that shine through in every aspect of daily life. The people were also a wonderful surprise: always friendly, helpful, and curious to meet international students. This made the experience even more authentic and enjoyable, making me feel part of something special.

Another aspect that deserves special mention is the food. I want to compliment the chef at Keats, who is truly excellent. Every meal was delicious, varied, and prepared with great care. I had the opportunity to try typical Chinese dishes, and every day was a new discovery of flavors. This also helped make the experience even more complete and memorable.

In conclusion, my time at Keats Chengdu was simply magical. I learned so much, met wonderful people, and experienced moments that I will cherish forever. I recommend this school to anyone who wants to study Chinese seriously but also have a unique cultural experience. Il viaggio studio a Chengdu è stata un’esperienza intensa, formativa e piena di momenti che porterò con me per molto tempo. Fin dai primi giorni ho capito che questa città riesce a unire tradizione e modernità in modo sorprendente, facendoti sentire continuamente tra due mondi diversi ma perfettamente armonizzati.

Durante il soggiorno abbiamo visitato luoghi molto diversi tra loro. Siamo stati anche nel centro commerciale più grande del mondo, una struttura immensa che fa capire subito quanto la città sia moderna e in continua crescita. Molto più suggestiva è stata la visita al ponte tradizionale illuminato la sera: camminarci sopra, circondati dalle luci e dall’atmosfera della città, è stato uno dei momenti più belli del viaggio. Tra gli scenari più spettacolari ricordo anche le Bamboo Towers, che di notte si trasformano in uno spettacolo di luci con l’acqua che scende lungo le facciate come una cascata luminosa: un’immagine davvero impressionante e simbolo della Chengdu contemporanea.

Un’esperienza culturale indimenticabile è stata assistere all’Opera del Sichuan. I costumi, la musica e soprattutto il famoso cambio delle maschere sono stati affascinanti e completamente diversi da qualsiasi spettacolo visto in Europa. È stato uno di quei momenti in cui ti rendi conto di quanto sia ricca e antica la cultura cinese.

Ovviamente uno dei ricordi più emozionanti resta la visita alla riserva naturale dei panda. Vederli dal vivo è stato incredibile: sono tenerissimi, goffi e irresistibili mentre mangiano bambù o si muovono lentamente tra gli alberi. È stata un’esperienza che mi ha fatto capire quanto la Cina tenga alla tutela di questo animale simbolo.

Durante il viaggio abbiamo anche partecipato a una lezione di Kung Fu. È stata un’attività divertente ma anche impegnativa, che richiede concentrazione, disciplina e controllo del corpo. Provare in prima persona questa arte marziale è stato un modo concreto per entrare in contatto con la cultura locale.

Le persone a Chengdu sono state una bellissima sorpresa: molto cordiali, gentili e disponibili. Anche quando la lingua rappresentava una barriera, bastavano sorrisi e gesti per capirsi. Mi sono sentito accolto e questo ha reso l’esperienza ancora più speciale.

Il cibo è stato uno degli aspetti più interessanti del viaggio, perché fin dall’inizio abbiamo provato piatti tipici della cucina del Sichuan, famosa per i sapori intensi e piccanti. Ho assaggiato noodles piccanti, ravioli cinesi (jiaozi), riso fritto, spiedini alla griglia e diversi piatti con pollo e verdure ricchi di spezie. Solo verso la fine del viaggio abbiamo vissuto una delle esperienze più caratteristiche: l’hotpot. Si tratta di una grande pentola bollente al centro del tavolo in cui si cuociono carne, noodles e verdure. È un momento conviviale e divertente, ma anche molto piccante, tipico della tradizione locale.

Un ruolo fondamentale in questa esperienza lo ha avuto il campus della Keats School. L’ambiente era accogliente e internazionale: studenti provenienti da tanti paesi diversi vivevano e studiavano insieme, creando un’atmosfera che sembrava quella di una grande famiglia. È stato facile stringere nuove amicizie e sentirsi parte di qualcosa di speciale. Personalmente ci tornerei mille volte, perché mi sono sentito davvero a casa.

Il corso che abbiamo seguito è stato molto interessante e utile: mi ha permesso di conoscere meglio la cultura cinese, aprire la mente e vedere il mondo da una prospettiva diversa. Questo viaggio mi ha insegnato quanto sia importante uscire dalla propria zona di comfort e confrontarsi con realtà lontane dalla propria. Chengdu resterà sempre un ricordo bellissimo e un’esperienza che mi ha fatto crescere.

From the first few days, I realized that this city manages to combine tradition and modernity in a surprising way, making you feel constantly between two different yet perfectly harmonious worlds.

During our stay, we visited very different places. We also visited the largest shopping mall in the world, an immense structure that immediately demonstrates how modern and constantly growing the city is. Even more impressive was the visit to the traditional bridge illuminated at night: walking across it, surrounded by the lights and the atmosphere of the city, was one of the highlights of the trip. Among the most spectacular sights, I also remember the Bamboo Towers, which at night transform into a light show with water cascading down the facades like a luminous waterfall: a truly impressive image and a symbol of contemporary Chengdu.

An unforgettable cultural experience was attending the Sichuan Opera. The costumes, music, and especially the famous mask changing were fascinating and completely unlike any show I've seen in Europe. It was one of those moments when you realize how rich and ancient Chinese culture is.

Obviously, one of my most emotional memories remains the visit to the panda reserve. Seeing them in person was incredible: they are incredibly cuddly, clumsy, and irresistible as they eat bamboo or move slowly through the trees. It was an experience that made me understand how much China cares about protecting this iconic animal.

During the trip, we also took a Kung Fu class. It was a fun but also challenging activity, requiring concentration, discipline, and body control. Trying this martial art firsthand was a tangible way to experience the local culture.

The people in Chengdu were a wonderful surprise: very friendly, kind, and helpful. Even when the language barrier was a barrier, smiles and gestures were enough to understand each other. I felt welcomed, and this made the experience even more special.

The food was one of the most interesting aspects of the trip, because right from the start, we tried typical Sichuan dishes, famous for their intense, spicy flavors. I sampled spicy noodles, Chinese dumplings (jiaozi), fried rice, grilled skewers, and various spicy chicken and vegetable dishes. Only toward the end of the trip did we experience one of the most distinctive experiences: hotpot. This is a large boiling pot in the center of the table where meat, noodles, and vegetables are cooked. It's a convivial and fun experience, but also very spicy, typical of the local tradition.

The Keats School campus played a key role in this experience. The environment was welcoming and international: students from many different countries lived and studied together, creating an atmosphere that felt like one big family. It was easy to make new friends and feel part of something special. Personally, I would go back a thousand times because I truly felt at home.

The course we took was very interesting and useful: it allowed me to learn more about Chinese culture, open my mind, and see the world from a different perspective. This trip taught me the importance of stepping out of your comfort zone and engaging with realities far from your own. Chengdu will always be a wonderful memory and an experience that helped me grow.

Ho visitato la suggestiva capanna di Du Fu, l’impressionante sistema di irrigazione e il centro commerciale più grande del mondo. Abbiamo anche mangiato piatti piccanti, ed era tutto buonissimo! Il corso di cinese è stato davvero interessante: ho imparato tantissimo e mi ha aiutato molto a migliorare la lingua. Un’esperienza indimenticabile e molto formativa. Ho avuto la possibilità di vivere un’esperienza al Keats di Chengdu, in Cina, e posso dire che è stata davvero indimenticabile. Si tratta di un campus internazionale molto organizzato, capace di offrire un ambiente accogliente e stimolante. Anche se le aule non erano particolarmente grandi, questo ha reso tutto più familiare e ha facilitato il rapporto con insegnanti e compagni.

Le lezioni erano interessanti e coinvolgenti, soprattutto quelle di lingua cinese, che mi hanno permesso di migliorare molto grazie a un approccio pratico e diretto. Gli insegnanti erano sempre disponibili e pronti ad aiutare, creando un clima positivo durante tutta la permanenza. Una delle attività più belle è stata la lezione di kung fu, che mi ha fatto scoprire una parte importante della cultura cinese in modo divertente e attivo.

Oltre allo studio, abbiamo fatto tante uscite ed esperienze culturali. Abbiamo visitato il museo di Chengdu, dove ho potuto conoscere meglio la storia e le tradizioni della città. Siamo stati anche all’opera del Sichuan, uno spettacolo davvero particolare e affascinante, molto diverso da ciò a cui siamo abituati in Italia. Un altro momento indimenticabile è stata la visita alla riserva dei panda, dove ho visto da vicino questi animali simbolo della Cina. Abbiamo anche visitato la capanna di Du Fu, legata a uno dei più importanti poeti cinesi, e la famosa statua del Buddha di Leshan, davvero impressionante per grandezza e significato.

Durante il soggiorno abbiamo anche visitato luoghi moderni e impressionanti, come il centro commerciale più grande del mondo e le famose Twin Towers. Inoltre, il sistema di irrigazione ci ha colpito per la sua importanza storica e per l’ingegnosità con cui è stato costruito. Tutte queste attività hanno reso l’esperienza ancora più completa e interessante.
Il cibo è stato un altro aspetto importante del viaggio. Abbiamo mangiato piatti tipici di Chengdu, scoprendo sapori nuovi e diversi. All’inizio non è stato facilissimo abituarsi, ma con il tempo ho imparato ad apprezzare questa cucina così ricca e particolare.

Le persone che ho incontrato sono state tutte molto cordiali e disponibili. Anche quando c’erano difficoltà linguistiche, facevano sempre il possibile per comunicare e per farci sentire a nostro agio. Questo ha reso tutto ancora più piacevole.

In conclusione, consiglio questa esperienza a tutti gli studenti che vogliono mettersi alla prova e vivere qualcosa di diverso. È stata un’esperienza da cinque stelle che mi ha fatto crescere sia dal punto di vista personale che culturale, e che porterò sempre con me.

Another unforgettable moment was the visit to the panda reserve, where I saw these iconic animals up close. We also visited Du Fu's hut, associated with one of China's most important poets, and the famous Leshan Buddha statue, truly impressive in its size and significance.

During our stay, we also visited impressive modern sites, such as the world's largest shopping mall and the famous Twin Towers. Furthermore, the irrigation system impressed us with its historical importance and the ingenuity with which it was built. All these activities made the experience even more complete and interesting.

Food was another important aspect of the trip. We ate typical Chengdu dishes, discovering new and diverse flavors. It wasn't easy to get used to at first, but over time, I learned to appreciate this rich and unique cuisine.

The people I met were all very friendly and helpful. Even when there were language difficulties, they always did their best to communicate and make us feel at ease. This made everything even more enjoyable.

In conclusion, I recommend this experience to all students who want to challenge themselves and experience something different. It was a five-star experience that helped me grow both personally and culturally, and one that I will always cherish.

La mia esperienza in Cina, a Chengdu nel Sichuan, è stata davvero indimenticabile, soprattutto grazie alla scuola Keats e all’ambiente unico che offre. Il campus è semplicemente fantastico: moderno, pulitissimo, ben organizzato e pensato in ogni dettaglio per rendere la permanenza degli studenti il più confortevole possibile. Le aule sono accoglienti e ben attrezzate, gli spazi comuni perfetti per rilassarsi o socializzare, e l’atmosfera generale è sempre positiva e stimolante.

Uno degli aspetti che ho apprezzato di più è stata la comunità: il campus è pieno di persone simpatiche, provenienti da tutto il mondo, con cui è facilissimo fare amicizia. Si crea un ambiente internazionale davvero speciale, dove ogni giorno si ha l’opportunità di confrontarsi, imparare e condividere esperienze. Anche lo staff è sempre disponibile, gentile e pronto ad aiutare in qualsiasi situazione.

Un altro punto fortissimo è stato il cibo: abbiamo mangiato davvero benissimo ogni giorno grazie alla cuoca presente nel campus, che preparava piatti deliziosi, vari e sempre freschi. È stato fantastico poter assaggiare ogni giorno specialità diverse, soprattutto della cucina del Sichuan, direttamente lì a scuola. Anche questo ha contribuito a rendere l’esperienza ancora più autentica e piacevole.

Un ringraziamento speciale va però alla mia insegnante, Amber, che ha reso questa esperienza ancora più significativa. È una persona straordinaria: sempre sorridente, paziente e incredibilmente preparata. Le sue lezioni erano coinvolgenti, mai noiose, e riusciva sempre a motivarmi e a farmi migliorare giorno dopo giorno. Grazie a lei ho fatto progressi enormi con la lingua, ma soprattutto mi sono sentito supportato e incoraggiato in ogni momento.

Vivere a Chengdu è stato un valore aggiunto incredibile: una città affascinante, ricca di cultura, tradizioni e con una cucina unica come quella del Sichuan. Tuttavia, è stato proprio il campus Keats e le persone che ho incontrato lì a rendere questa esperienza così speciale.

It was fantastic to be able to try different specialties every day, especially Sichuan cuisine, right there at the school. This also helped make the experience even more authentic and enjoyable.

A special thanks goes to my teacher, Amber, who made this experience even more meaningful. She's an extraordinary person: always smiling, patient, and incredibly knowledgeable. Her lessons were engaging, never boring, and she always managed to motivate me and make me improve day after day. Thanks to her, I made enormous progress with the language, but above all, I felt supported and encouraged at all times.

Living in Chengdu was an incredible added value: a fascinating city, rich in culture, traditions, and with unique Sichuan cuisine. However, it was the Keats campus and the people I met there that made this experience so special.

Il mio viaggio a Chengdu, nel cuore del Sichuan, è stato un’esperienza che mi ha cambiato profondamente. 11 giorni di pura magia, immersi in una cultura ricca di storia, tradizione e cibo straordinario. Chengdu, famosa per i suoi panorami mozzafiato e la sua cucina piccante, è anche un luogo dove il passato e il presente si incontrano in modo perfetto, creando un’atmosfera unica che mi ha fatto sentire subito a casa.

Il nostro soggiorno nel Keats School, pur essendo di dimensioni contenute, è stato speciale. Ci siamo sentiti parte di una grande famiglia, soprattutto grazie alla signora anziana che cucinava per tutti noi. Ogni piatto che preparava era una vera delizia, e il suo cibo, semplice ma ricco di sapore, ha reso il nostro soggiorno ancora più caldo e accogliente. La sua cucina era un modo per riunirci tutti attorno a un tavolo e condividere non solo il cibo, ma anche momenti di autentica connessione umana.

Durante la nostra permanenza, abbiamo avuto la possibilità di esplorare alcuni dei luoghi più incredibili della regione, e ogni tappa ha aggiunto un ulteriore tassello alla nostra esperienza.

1. La Riserva di Panda Giganti di Chengdu
Chengdu è famosa per i suoi panda giganti, e uno dei momenti più emozionanti del nostro viaggio è stato sicuramente la visita alla Riserva dei Panda Giganti. Questo centro di protezione è il cuore pulsante della conservazione di questa specie in pericolo. Abbiamo avuto l’opportunità di vedere questi magnifici animali da vicino, mentre giocavano, mangiavano bambù o riposavano nel loro habitat naturale. La visita è stata un’esperienza magica, che mi ha permesso di apprezzare ancora di più l’importanza della protezione della biodiversità. Non dimenticherò mai l’emozione di vedere un panda così vicino, uno dei simboli più amati della Cina.

2. Il Sistema di Irrigazione di Dujiangyan
Un altro sito che ci ha davvero impressionato è stato il Sistema di Irrigazione di Dujiangyan, un’antica opera di ingegneria che ha cambiato la storia dell’agricoltura nel Sichuan. Questo sistema, risalente a più di 2.000 anni fa, è stato progettato per controllare le acque del fiume Min e prevenire le inondazioni, garantendo al contempo l’irrigazione dei campi circostanti. La sua ingegnosità è incredibile, ed è uno degli esempi più straordinari di come la tecnologia tradizionale possa essere al servizio dell’uomo e dell’ambiente. Passeggiare lungo il fiume e vedere da vicino il funzionamento di quest’opera maestosa mi ha fatto riflettere sulla saggezza e sull’ingegno che la cultura cinese ha accumulato nel corso dei secoli.

3. Il Ponte di Anshun e la Capanna di Du Fu
Un altro posto che ci ha affascinato è stato il Ponte di Anshun, una struttura storica che attraversa il fiume e offre uno dei panorami più suggestivi di Chengdu. È un luogo ricco di storia, dove la bellezza della natura si unisce all’architettura tradizionale cinese. Ma non è stato solo il ponte a colpirmi. Abbiamo anche visitato la Capanna di Du Fu, un piccolo rifugio immerso nella natura, che un tempo ospitava il poeta cinese Du Fu. Questo luogo è perfetto per chi cerca tranquillità e ispirazione, ed è un omaggio alla figura di Du Fu, uno dei più grandi poeti della storia cinese. Passeggiare nei giardini circostanti e respirare l’aria fresca del Sichuan ci ha dato un senso di pace che è difficile da descrivere.

4. Il Centro Commerciale Più Grande del Mondo
Infine, una visita che ci ha sorpreso è stata al New Century Global Center, il centro commerciale più grande del mondo. Questo enorme complesso è davvero una città dentro la città, con negozi, ristoranti, cinema, hotel e addirittura una spiaggia artificiale! Camminare all’interno di questo immenso centro commerciale ci ha lasciato senza parole. Era come entrare in un mondo parallelo, dove la modernità e il consumismo si mescolano con un’architettura spettacolare. Anche se si tratta di un luogo decisamente più moderno e commerciale rispetto agli altri posti che abbiamo visitato, è stato comunque un’esperienza affascinante da non perdere, che ci ha mostrato un altro lato di Chengdu.

La Cucina Piccante del Sichuan: Un Viaggio nei Sapori
Uno degli aspetti più sorprendenti di Chengdu è la sua cucina, che è un vero e proprio viaggio nei sapori. La cucina del Sichuan è conosciuta per essere piccante, ma anche incredibilmente ricca di aromi e sfumature. Ogni piatto che abbiamo mangiato ci ha fatto scoprire nuove combinazioni di sapori, ed è stato un’esperienza che ha coinvolto tutti i nostri sensi.

Una delle prelibatezze che non potevamo perderci è stato l’Hotpot Sichuan, una fondue piccante che ci ha davvero entusiasmato. L’Hotpot consiste in un grande pentolone pieno di brodo bollente, spesso piccante e speziato, dove si immergono carne, pesce, tofu, verdure e noodles. Ogni boccone era un’esplosione di sapori, e la possibilità di personalizzare il nostro piatto con ingredienti freschissimi lo ha reso ancora più speciale. La combinazione del pepe di Sichuan, che provoca una sensazione di formicolio sulla lingua, e del calore dei peperoncini ha reso ogni boccone un’avventura per il palato.

Oltre all’Hotpot, abbiamo assaporato altri piatti tipici come il Mapo Tofu, un piatto di tofu morbido e cremoso in una salsa piccante e aromatica, perfetto per chi ama i sapori forti. Un altro piatto iconico è stato il Gong Bao Chicken, pollo con arachidi e peperoncini, che mescola dolcezza e piccantezza in modo perfetto. Ogni pasto a Chengdu è stato un’opportunità per provare nuove pietanze che ci hanno sorpreso e conquistato. La cucina del Sichuan non è solo piccante, ma anche incredibilmente ricca di sapori complessi e ben bilanciati.

La Gentilezza delle Persone Cinesi
Una delle cose che ha reso il nostro viaggio ancora più speciale è stata la gentilezza e la cordialità delle persone cinesi. I cinesi sono incredibilmente accoglienti e ci hanno trattato con una generosità che non dimenticherò mai. In ogni luogo che abbiamo visitato, ci siamo sentiti come se fossimo parte della loro famiglia. Ogni sorriso, ogni parola gentile, ogni gesto di ospitalità ci ha fatto sentire davvero a nostro agio, nonostante la distanza culturale. La loro disponibilità ad aiutarci, a rispondere alle nostre domande, a condividere con noi la loro cultura e la loro storia è stata una delle esperienze più belle del nostro viaggio. In un mondo dove la cortesia sembra sempre più rara, in Cina abbiamo trovato una gentilezza sincera e una disponibilità che ci ha sorpresi e commossi.

Questa esperienza mi ha lasciato una sensazione di calore e di appartenenza che non avevo mai provato prima. Chengdu, con la sua cucina piccante, i suoi monumenti storici, le bellezze naturali e la cordialità delle sue persone, è diventata un luogo che porterò nel cuore per sempre. Se mai dovessi trasferirmi, non avrei dubbi: Chengdu e il Sichuan sono il posto giusto per me. La loro storia, la loro cultura, e la loro bellezza naturale sono semplicemente uniche, e non vedo l’ora di tornare!

My trip to Chengdu, in the heart of Sichuan, was a profoundly transformative experience. 11 days of pure magic, immersed in a culture rich in history, tradition, and extraordinary food. Chengdu, famous for its breathtaking views and spicy cuisine, is also a place where past and present blend seamlessly, creating a unique atmosphere that made me feel instantly at home.

Our stay at the Keats School, despite its small size, was special. We felt part of a large family, especially thanks to the elderly lady who cooked for us all. Every dish she prepared was a true delight, and her food, simple yet rich in flavor, made our stay even warmer and more welcoming. Her cooking was a way for us all to gather around a table and share not only food, but also moments of authentic human connection.

During our stay, we had the opportunity to explore some of the region's most incredible places, and each stop added another layer to our experience.

1. The Chengdu Giant Panda Reserve
Chengdu is famous for its giant pandas, and one of the most exciting moments of our trip was undoubtedly the visit to the Giant Panda Reserve. This conservation center is the beating heart of the conservation of this endangered species. We had the opportunity to see these magnificent animals up close, as they played, ate bamboo, or rested in their natural habitat. The visit was a magical experience, which allowed me to appreciate even more the importance of protecting biodiversity. I will never forget the thrill of seeing a panda so close, one of China's most beloved symbols.

2. The Dujiangyan Irrigation System
Another site that truly impressed us was the Dujiangyan Irrigation System, an ancient feat of engineering that changed the history of agriculture in Sichuan. This system, dating back over 2,000 years, was designed to control the waters of the Min River and prevent flooding, while also ensuring the irrigation of the surrounding fields. Its ingenuity is incredible, and it is one of the most extraordinary examples of how traditional technology can serve humanity and the environment. Strolling along the river and seeing this majestic work up close made me reflect on the wisdom and ingenuity that Chinese culture has accumulated over the centuries.

3. The Anshun Bridge and Du Fu's Hut
Another place that fascinated us was the Anshun Bridge, a historic structure that spans the river and offers one of the most evocative views of Chengdu. It's a place steeped in history, where the beauty of nature blends with traditional Chinese architecture. But it wasn't just the bridge that struck me. We also visited Du Fu's Hut, a small retreat surrounded by nature that once housed the Chinese poet Du Fu. This place is perfect for those seeking tranquility and inspiration, and is a tribute to Du Fu, one of the greatest poets in Chinese history. Strolling through the surrounding gardens and breathing in the fresh Sichuan air gave us a sense of peace that's hard to describe.

4. The World's Largest Shopping Mall
Finally, a visit that surprised us was the New Century Global Center, the world's largest shopping mall. This enormous complex is truly a city within a city, with shops, restaurants, cinemas, hotels, and even an artificial beach! Walking through this immense shopping mall left us speechless. It was like entering a parallel world, where modernity and consumerism blend with spectacular architecture. Although it is a decidedly more modern and commercial place than the other places we visited, it was still a fascinating experience not to be missed, which showed us another side of Chengdu.

Sichuan Spicy Cuisine: A Journey Through Flavors
One of the most surprising aspects of Chengdu is its cuisine, which is a true journey through flavors. Sichuan cuisine is known for its spicy flavors, but also incredibly rich in aromas and nuances. Every dish we ate introduced us to new flavor combinations, and it was an experience that engaged all our senses.

One of the delicacies we couldn't miss was Sichuan Hotpot, a spicy fondue that truly thrilled us. The hotpot consists of a large pot filled with boiling broth, often spicy and spicy, into which meat, fish, tofu, vegetables, and noodles are immersed. Every bite was an explosion of flavor, and the ability to customize our dish with the freshest ingredients made it even more special. The combination of Sichuan pepper, which causes a tingling sensation on the tongue, and the heat of the chili peppers made every bite a palate adventure.

In addition to hotpot, we savored other signature dishes like Mapo Tofu, a soft and creamy tofu dish in a spicy and aromatic sauce, perfect for those who love strong flavors. The Kindness of the Chinese People
One of the things that made our trip even more special was the kindness and warmth of the Chinese people. They are incredibly welcoming and treated us with a generosity I will never forget. Every place we visited, we felt like we were part of their family. Every smile, every kind word, every gesture of hospitality made us feel truly at ease, despite the cultural distance. Their willingness to help us, answer our questions, and share their culture and history with us was one of the most beautiful experiences of our trip. In a world where courtesy seems increasingly rare, in China we found a sincere kindness and a willingness to help that surprised and moved us.

This experience left me with a feeling of warmth and belonging I had never felt before. Chengdu, with its spicy cuisine, its historical monuments, its natural beauty, and the friendliness of its people, has become a place I will cherish forever. If I ever move, I have no doubt: Chengdu and Sichuan are the right place for me. Their history, culture, and natural beauty are simply unique, and I can't wait to return!
