Keats is the best school to learn Chinese China

This year, I had the wonderful opportunity to return to Keats to continue my Chinese language studies. Following an excellent experience nearly two years ago, I realized I needed professional guidance to upgrade my spoken Chinese. Therefore, my top choice was to return to the finest academy I have had the privilege to attend: Keats. This time, the director paired me with a highly seasoned pronunciation instructor. Thanks for your help and patience 周老师! While the practice was intense, I noticed a massive improvement by the end of the term thanks to my teacher's dedication. In my opinion, the premier benefit of their one-on-one program is that classes are customized to each individual student's requirements and pace. That edge, combined with the exceptional expertise of the faculty and the overall motivating environment, yields remarkable results by the end of every week. The institution also provides a dedicated student advisor who handles any daily needs while consistently tracking progress and satisfaction. Thank you for your incredible support, Willow!Another fantastic aspect of studying here is the chance to explore everything Kunming has to offer; the city boasts an abundance of tourist attractions, restaurants, and shopping districts. There is always a unique activity to enjoy every day to unwind after hours of study. Furthermore, Keats organizes plenty of weekday activities to immerse students in Chinese culture, alongside weekend excursions to Yunnan's most breathtaking destinations. I will always enthusiastically recommend Keats as the ultimate destination to learn Chinese in China. I can't wait to return—hopefully for a much longer stay!

KEATS school review

So I've now stayed at KEATS (昆明)for almost 6 weeks and am about to leave (with great sadness).
First of all, the teachers here are all amazing, not only are they very nice and attentive to your needs, but the teaching level is also very high. The life advisors are also there to truly help you, whenever I had a question or problem, they would always be there to listen to me and help me out, it was truly pleasant.
The school organises also various activities such as local night markets, hiking mountains, visiting historical/cultural sites, and even learning to play mahjong and Chinese chess! This was not only an excellent way to immerse oneself into Chinese culture but also an opportunity to socialise and meet new friends.
The housing is simple but nice, the fact that your room is inside the school avoids a lot of trouble and is very convenient. The school is situated in the city and as such nothing is too far, once again, very convenient.
Overall I would 100% recommended KEATS to anyone who is interested in immersing themselves into the Chinese language and culture.

Pros
  • Teaching and instruction
  • Support and help
  • Social events

A very memorable and valuable life experience

I had a great experience studying Chinese at KEATS in Kunming. I studied there for three weeks and made much faster progress than I expected, reaching approximately HSK 2 level. The teachers were professional, patient, and supportive, and the lessons were well structured, engaging, and focused on practical communication.

The school is located in a convenient area of Kunming, a beautiful city with a pleasant climate and a relaxed atmosphere. The facilities were clean, comfortable, and well maintained, creating an excellent environment for learning.

Overall, I highly recommend KEATS to anyone who wants to learn Chinese in China. The quality of teaching, the friendly staff, and the positive learning environment made my stay both productive and enjoyable. It was definitely worth it, and I would gladly study there again.

What was the most surprising thing you saw or did?
A duck on a leash at a night market! A true highlight :D

Kunming is really a great k´place to study Chinese - the locals are usually extremely friendly, helpful, and don't speak English - so one can practice in everyday situations!
Pros
  • good tuition
  • adaptability & responsiveness of the school staff
  • convenient location

Experience in Keats

I have absolutely loved my experience in Keats School, Kunming.
The classes were thought to be 100% adaptable to the single student’s necessities, according to their objectives and personal methods preferences. The whole Keats stuff is extremely friendly, available for any doubt or need, and they surely contributed to make the experience even better. Lastly, the opportunities to meet new people and bond with them are infinite, so i would recommend to anyone who likes traveling and connecting to different realities.
I personally feel like my level of Mandarin has improved significantly, thanks to the constant learning and actual outdoor immersion that helped me overcome my insecurities about this language. Kunming’s people are extremely friendly, welcoming and also curious about each single person’s story and the reason they decided to choose Kunming as their study destination. I’m leaving today with so much sadness in my heart, and the desire to stay in touch with my new friends and come back again as soon as possible.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
If you’re really interested in giving your mandarin a boost this definitely can be an excellent option, given the price and the competitiveness of the programs that are offered.

The school is clean, and all the teachers are friendly

The school is clean, and all the teachers are friendly. Once, while shopping online, I didn't know how to answer the delivery person's call, and my teacher taught me what to say. Each class has only one or two students, so the teacher can give individual attention and tailor lessons according to my learning needs. Whenever I had questions, I could ask my teacher, and she would always answer carefully. The school also organizes events—we visited a museum together and enjoyed hot pot as a group. My teacher is Chen Ying. She is very patient. On my first day, she told me that coming to a new country to learn a language takes courage, and as long as I keep practicing and stay persistent, I will definitely succeed in learning Chinese. Teacher Chen Ying said to me: "It's okay to make mistakes—take your time." She often praised me, calling me "good" and "great." I've become increasingly confident. We sometimes talked about Chinese cuisine, and I think Chinese food is delicious. My teacher is from Yunnan, so I've learned about some Yunnan food and culture too. If I ever get the chance, I’d love to visit Yunnan—it’s a beautiful, romantic place full of flowers. I also really enjoy Chengdu. There are many shopping spots, and everything here is fun—clothes and hair clips often feature pandas, which is unique. I also went to see the pandas in Chengdu, and they’re adorable. These animals aren’t found anywhere else. Although that day was tiring, we were all happy. Life in Chengdu is comfortable, and I’ve been truly happy living here. If you want to learn Chinese, I recommend coming to Chengdu Keats School. You’ll be just as happy as I am.

I studied Chinese for three weeks at Keats School in Chengdu.

I studied Chinese for three weeks at Keats School in Chengdu. At first, I could only say "hello," but now I've learned many more sentences to express my thoughts. I'm very interested in Chinese food, so I've also learned a lot of words related to it. The school environment is great, and they organize various activities for us—like taking us to eat hot pot or having us paint traditional face masks—so we can experience and learn more about Chinese culture. Whenever I encountered difficulties, the teachers were always warm and ready to help promptly. My teacher is Chen Ying, who is very dedicated. When I pronounced something incorrectly, she patiently taught me slowly without getting upset. Sometimes I forgot words I had learned, and she would remind me gently, encouraging me by saying it's okay. Every time I answered correctly, she'd say "Great!" I wanted to learn how to order Chinese food and how to communicate when dining out, and my teacher was happy to teach me. During my stay in China, whenever I faced something unfamiliar, my teacher helped me right away. In daily life, I also chatted with her about our cats or shared our hobbies. I'm really glad to have met my teacher and hope to see her again. I also love the city of Chengdu. The people here are friendly; even when I speak slowly, they never rush me. Chengdu has delicious food, and my favorite is hot pot. There are also giant pandas here—I visited them once, and they're so cute. Life in Chengdu is convenient, as you can easily reach many places by subway or bus. I find Chengdu to be a very comfortable place. If you want to learn Chinese, I highly recommend this school—you'll have an unforgettable experience.

Perfect experience

I am very satisfied with my first experience at Keats School in Kunming. The classes were well adapted to my level, the teachers were very patient, and I feel that I made significant progress. The school itself is very well located, and the facilities and services are simple but perfectly adequate.

The relationships with the other students were very enjoyable, and the school provides a good balance between freedom and support. Kunming is a very pleasant city for this kind of experience, both lively and peaceful at the same time.

I will certainly do it again!

Two week 1-on-1 class in Chengdu

That was such a wonderful two-week experience at Keats School in Chengdu. The 1-on-1 classes were the highlight of the program. My teacher was excellent and adapted her teaching style to my learning needs, making it easy to improve quickly. She answered all of my questions concerning Chinese language, history and culture, and focused definitely on the areas where I needed the most help in terms of the language.

In just two weeks I have learnt a lot and the time went by very quickly. The campus is modern, the facilities are new, and it was easy to meet new people from around the world, as the school has arranged different extracurricular activities.

Chengdu also positively surprised me in many regards. It is a very amazing and large city, lots of very cool sights things to discover here, especially the Pandas, lots of ancient history and picturesque landscape.

I highly recommend Keats Chengdu to anyone who wants to improve their Chinese in an effective and enjoyable way. Thank you very much for everything and hope to see you next time again :).

Pros
  • Very good 1-on-1 class
  • Super modern facilities
  • Conveniently located, close to Metro

Amazing stay and wonderful learning experience!

I deeply enjoyed the month I spent at Keats Chengdu. The city is a mix of old and new, the vibes are incredible: old style tea houses, elegant parks, big malls and cool bars can be found in Chengdu. During my stay at Keats everything was amazing: from the people I met to the experiences, the food and learning.

I had studied some Chinese already but my teacher helped me improve my language skills on all levels: listening, speaking, pronunciation and grammar. It has been a challenging but rewarding journey that left me with the desire to come back and better my Chinese.

I’m also looking forward to visit other Keats campus’s and of course pay a visit to my teacher in Kunming!

Pros
  • Great organization
  • Tailored experience
  • Amazing people
