My daughter came back a different person

My 15-year-old daughter spent 6 weeks in Beijing with GAC's high school program. I was nervous at first, but the coordinators sent updates and photos regularly. Her homestay family treated her like their own child – even celebrated her birthday with a traditional cake. She went from knowing zero Mandarin to ordering food, taking taxis, and even helping me translate during a video call. The weekend trips to the Great Wall and Forbidden City were unforgettable for her. She came home more confident, independent, and mature. Thank you, GAC – we're already planning her next trip.

best career decision

As a finance graduate from Copenhagen Business School, I wanted to understand Asia's financial markets. GAC placed me with a venture capital firm in Shanghai's Jing'an district. I analyzed startup pitches, helped with due diligence, and even sat in on investment committee meetings. My mentor taught me how Chinese VCs think differently from European ones – invaluable knowledge. The team handled my visa, found me a great apartment, and checked in weekly. Three months later, I landed a job in international finance back in Denmark. My China experience was the main topic in every interview. we had some cultural activities too.

Pros
  • real career growth
  • real responsibilities
  • fast adaptability

The internship that changed my entire career path

As a marketing graduate from France, I wasn't sure what to expect. GAC placed me with a PR agency in Beijing, and within my first week, I was helping manage a real campaign for an international brand. My mentor taught me how Chinese social media works — completely different from Europe. The team handled everything: visa, accommodation, airport pickup. I also took weekly Mandarin lessons which helped me navigate daily life. Three months later, I came back with a job offer and a whole new perspective. If you're serious about international business, do this program.

From zero to conversations in just 8 weeks

I studied Mandarin at Fudan University in Shanghai through GAC. I arrived knowing nothing — not even tones. My homestay family was incredible; they only spoke Chinese, so I had to practice every single day at dinner. Classes were small and my teacher was very patient. Within 8 weeks, I could order food, bargain at markets, and have simple conversations with locals. The GAC team organized weekend trips to West Lake and the water towns. This wasn't just a language course — it was a life-changing experience. Highly recommend.

IT internship in Shenzhen exceeded all expectations

As a software engineering graduate from Poland, I wanted hands-on AI experience. GAC placed me with a tech startup in Shenzhen — China's Silicon Valley. I worked on real machine learning projects alongside experienced developers. The office culture was fast-paced and collaborative. My Mandarin was zero at the start, but weekly lessons helped me get by. The apartment was modern, and the 24/7 support team was always there. Within two months of returning home, I received two job offers — both mentioned my China experience as a key differentiator. Highly recommend for any IT student.

Finance internship in Shanghai opened every door

I joined GAC's finance program as an economics graduate. They matched me with an investment firm in Shanghai's financial district. I worked on real client portfolios, helped with market research, and even sat in on strategy meetings. My mentor taught me how China's financial system works — so different from Europe. The team handled my visa, found me a great apartment near the office, and organized weekend trips to Hangzhou. Three months later, I landed a job in international banking. Worth every single euro.

Highly Recommend This China experience

As a junior university student from Spain, I joined Go Abroad China’s Paid Internship in China: Business, Consulting & Trading program, and it has easily been the most rewarding experience of my university life.

The team perfectly matched me with an internship role in a Chinese consulting company, and I'm happy with the placement. I spent half a year living and working in China, where I received hands-on professional training and built solid practical skills in my consulting career.

Beyond career growth, this journey brought me so much more. I met wonderful, genuine local and international friends here, and fully immersed myself in authentic daily Chinese life and culture. Living in a new country helped me broaden my horizons, gain cross-cultural awareness, and become more independent and confident.

I truly appreciate the support from GoAbroadChina throughout the whole process. Everything was well-organized and smooth from placement to daily life assistance. I highly recommend this program to any international students who want to gain valuable work experience, explore Chinese culture, and make meaningful lifelong memories. 10/10 would recommend!

Learned more in 8 weeks than 2 years at home

I studied Mandarin at Fudan University in Shanghai through GAC. My homestay family was incredible — they spoke zero English, so I had to use Chinese every single day. My teacher was patient and made the classes engaging. After 8 weeks, I could hold conversations, order food, and even bargain at markets. If you want real fluency, do the homestay program. it always felt like home and I never felt like I'm away from home in a foreign country with strangers that I knew for almost a few weeks. Thank you from everyone

i miss my homestay family

I studied Mandarin at Peking University for 4 months through GAC. Coming from Germany, I was nervous about living in a new country, but my homestay family in Beijing made me feel at home from day one. My host mum even taught me how to make dumplings!

Classes were challenging but fun — my teacher was very patient and pushed me just enough. I went from knowing only "ni hao" to holding real conversations, ordering food, and even bargaining at markets.

The GAC team organized weekend trips to the Great Wall and Summer Palace, which made the experience even more special. I made friends from all over the world and my Mandarin improved faster than I ever thought possible.

If you want to learn Chinese and experience real life in China, this program is worth every euro. I'm already planning to go back for an internship next year.
