Amazing! 😊

I really enjoyed the experience because I learned so much during this time and there was a good balance between work and fun. I have done things that I wouldn't have done otherwise just by working at home and it gave me an idea about what it will mean to work in the type of environment I want to work in. I would definitely recommend the program to anyone who is fresh out of university or has some time between a course and another. It's been an experience I will never ever forget. I really wish I could have stayed longer.

What would you improve about this program?
Not much, just the bed in the accommodation and I would add a small lamp on the desk.

Amazing experience

It was a very good experience for me, the staff of the Intern Group is amazing, they take care of us and I never felt alone.
I even had some health issues and they were very nice to me and helpful.
I traveled a lot, I even lived in Argentina but Dublin was my best experience. I think it's because I met a lot of new friends, I traveled a lot, I walked in the nature and else. It's so interesting to meet people that you would never know in other case, because they are really different than you are
I recommend it 100% !

TALK !

Valuable internship experience

The internship experience has proved to help me quite a lot in developing my self professionally and personally. The internship has also helped me widen and broaden my skill set by continuously refreshing and practicing them at the work place hence, I have also managed to gain transferable skills which will be extremely handy whilst applying for this to a postgraduate degree. This internship has helped me grow out of my comfort zone and enabled me to change my outlook in the field I interned at.

What would you improve about this program?
Better training, workshops, resources and frequent personally helpful events

Incredible Memories

I was lucky enough to get to spend six months working in Australia as part of my university program. Throughout the entire process of applying, being accepted, finding a role, and traveling to Melbourne, The Intern Group stayed in touch and provided tips and tricks to reduce friction.

Once I was in Melbourne, the experience was even better. At first, I was a little nervous, but The Intern Group does a lot to help give interns a community to feel comfortable away from home. There were opportunities to explore the city, compete in trivia nights, and meet out to dinner every few weeks, along with bigger excursions like wildlife sanctuaries and beaches. I began in July, one of the more popular months for new interns, so there were about 15-20 of us getting settled in and enjoying the events together. I made some really good friends that I plan on staying in touch with forever.

There were also a lot of opportunities to sightsee more independently. With other interns, I saw the Great Ocean Road and Tasmania (I highly recommend both). On a trip for work, I was also able to visit Sydney alone for a couple of days as well.

As for the internship side of things, it was incredible! Coming in as a computer science student, I was originally unsure of what work I would be doing: would it be interesting and helpful to my career, or would I be doing smaller, more general tasks? However, I ended up joining a non-profit in the startup community, where my role was mainly to maintain and develop the website. Although the internship was unpaid, my supervisor did everything she could to ensure I had opportunities to learn and grow as much as possible.

I had always heard people say that their global experiences were some of the best in their lives and, now that I've had my own, I can't help but agree.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
You get out of this experience what you put in.

I had a lot of people telling me, "Oh, it's an unpaid internship. That means you don't have to work very hard: they can't expect you to treat it as seriously as a full-time role." However, once I got to Melbourne, started working, and chatted with other interns, it became so clear that when we worked hard, we learned and grew so much.

If you only put the bare minimum into your internship, you probably won't get all that much from that side of the program.

PR Internship in London

This summer I completed an internship in Public Relations in the fashion industry and I had the time of my life. I highly recommend this program because it makes it more feasible for students to work abroad to help increase the value of their resume. Through this program, I meet lots of people, made new friends, and did a lot of traveling and exploring. Also, this program is the most affordable out of most placement programs. Every person replied in a quick and efficient manner. Definitely recommend traveling while in London and be considerate that transportation for the first month.

What would you improve about this program?

Intern Group-California Program

It was a great experience. Lauren made all the interns feel welcome by organizing regular meetups and providing transportation to events. We did tours around LA to places like the Hollywood Museum, Warner Bros Studio to name a few. We also did an escape room event which I personally enjoyed. I got to interact with the rest of the group who were from different countries around the world. This internship also opened up more opportunities in my field because of the work experience I got during the 4 month period. I'd recommend it to people like me who needed a jumpstart to their careers and have been struggling to find internships in the past.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
My advice would be work hard, play hard. Enjoy LA if you're new to the US, have fun and make sure you put in the work in your internship.

An Invaluable Experience

This experience truly blew away all expectations. With the help of the experience coordinators and the ease of The Intern Groups process it makes the whole experience memorable and unstressful. The company I was interning for was amazing, they were nothing but accommodating and welcoming, while challenging me to do the best I can in whatever work I did. I learned valuable skills while also improving on the skills I did have to work at a professional level. I met lifelong friends and made a network of professional acquaintances. It was the best experience I could've had with traveling abroad and an internship experience.

A good taste of how it is like to live in Japan

I have been to Japan quite a few times but coming for an internship is a brand new experience for me. Coming through the intern group I was able to experience actually living in Japan and not just being here as a tourist while they take care of most of the more complicated things. They connect you to great companies, and the staffs are very helpful throughout the whole program. A special shoutout to the Experience Coordinator who worked really hard planning events to make sure everyone has an amazing time during their time in Tokyo.

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
I will talk to people who live in the same apartment or from the same program more.

unforgettable experience!

I wish i could extend my time in the program! This was a once in a lifetime experience that i will never forget. The friends i made and the work experience i got was second to none. Plus you get to explore all aspects of Tokyo on the weekends which is super awesome. The events that are planned are really well thought out and really elevate your experience. I would happily do this experience again in Tokyo or somewhere new.

I would recommend this program to anyone wanting to try something new and get out of their comfort zone whilst building experience in their chosen career. After doing this experience i have not only grown more through industry experience, but also i have managed to develop more as a person by trying new foods and exploring places i never thought i would.

What was the most surprising thing you saw or did?
the most suprising thing was being able to see mount Fuji up close and really apprciate all of its beauty

Great Experience

The Intern Group is an amazing company, I made great friends and had so much fun at all of the events. The staff made me feel really welcomed, safe and cared for. I'd 10/10 come back and recommend this to my friends. This program really helped me grow as a person and helped me find what I'd like to do when i get older. I'm super thankful for my time here and I wish i had more! I'm going to be sad when I leave but I know i can take this experience with me anywhere i go and apply it to where i end up. The friends and people I met are going to be my friends for the rest of my life (hopefullY) everything I learned here made me more mature and ready for my future. I'll miss the intern group

What would you improve about this program?
