Amazing Internship Experience!

I had one of my best lifetime experiences with The Interngroup in Madrid, Spain!

*Please note I am adding another review now, even though my internship happened a few years ago already.

Everything was basically perfect. Most people were very kind and open-minded at all times, especially Lalita and Cata. They were always very helpful and seemed very concerned for the well-being of all interns.

The InternGroup always listened to all of our questions and concerns, even those that were not entirely related to the internship. Lalita, Cata and the rest of the people from The InternGroup were always concerned about us. They kept fostering the personal and professional growth of their intern, while giving them tools and advices to develop key skills.

The InternGroup also organized many fun and interesting activities and events with their interns, always finding ways to make things work overall, despite the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, and everything that involves.

The housing providers (Vitium) also made my experience much better than I was originally expecting. The “hostal” was very well located (right in the center of Madrid), and the building was in great conditions, and at a very affordable price.

The company in which I was working as an intern (called The International Business Hub) had a lot of positive, characteristic aspects, which made it unique and distinguished it from many other places: Firstly, the managers and employees were very skilled at what they did, and were always willing to answer our questions, and help us learn in the process. Secondly, the the working environment was always very productive, and the division was divided very effectively and efficiently. Thirdly, the employees, managers, and company as a whole had well-traced short and long-term goals.

Moreover, Álvaro, Juan, Fernanda, and all of the people there seemed to be incredibly knowledgeable and smart individuals, with a tremendously great level of expertise in their industry. They were always looking for the personal and professional growth of others, even including the interns. I have a lot of respect and admiration for them, and value and appreciate everything they do.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Take advantage of every opportunity to the maximum, and grow as much as possible individually, collectively, and professionally

Intern Group NYC

I got placed in a company that aligned with my field of study and career aspirations. The responsibilities assigned to me were both challenging and rewarding, allowing me to apply my academic knowledge in real-world scenarios. Living in such a dynamic city allowed me to explore its diverse neighborhoods, iconic landmarks, and vibrant nightlife. Weekend outings with fellow interns further enriched my NYC experience, creating lasting memories and friendships. In summary, the intern programme in NYC was a transformative experience that significantly contributed to my personal and professional development.

Unforgettable experience!

TIG’s program has given me the chance to grow in many ways. In a professional level I got to network a lot and to get my first corporate experience. In spite of host organizations being medium-sized, this gives you the chance to build long-term relations and to connect with all areas of the organization at a deeper level. Experiencewise, the program coordinators, Debby and Brian, had made this program an AMAZING one. During weekends they organise group visits. If you ever need anything, they are always willing to help.

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
I would have stayed more than 2 months!! Always something new comes up and there are so many great things to do in NY.
Pros
  • Emotional support
  • Fun activities
  • Fast communication

Great experience to push yourself out of your comfort zone!

Interning in Colombia as a digital nomad intern was an amazing experience! I learnt so much about myself and what I’m capable of doing, in both a professional and personal capacity.

Meeting people from Colombia and from across the world was an absolute highlight of my internship. These connections helped me really grow my understanding of different cultures.

Being a digital nomad was awesome - it meant I had the flexibility to explore the country while still gaining valuable work experience.

What was the most surprising thing you saw or did?
There are so many diverse birds in Colombia! Going up to feed the hummingbirds was an unforgettable experience. I discovered a passion for birds which I never knew I had until I lived in Colombia!
Pros
  • Connections with interns and host organisation
  • Food was delicious and plentiful!

Madrid Internship

I did the 6 week program and I loved every second of it. Madrid is an amazing place and there is always something to do. The Intern Group makes moving abroad so much easier by providing you with your living accommodation, public transportation card, and even activities to do with the other interns. Everyone I interacted with was very friendly and welcoming. The part that made me the most nervous was where and who I was going to be living with. But I was very happy with my apartment and my roommates. I definitely recommend doing this to anyone who is interested on going abroad.

Bangkok Abroad Program

This program truly exceeded all my expectations and was an absolutely incredible experience! From the amazing advisors and engaging events to the provided housing, everything was meticulously organized. The friends I've met through this journey have become like family to me. The highlight was undoubtedly being matched with an amazing company that provided a supportive and enriching environment. My coworkers and mentors were not just colleagues but became mentors and friends who I still regularly keep up with. Additionally, the opportunity to explore Thailand was incredible. The culture, the places, and the people – every aspect was mesmerizing. I wholeheartedly recommend this program to anyone looking for a comprehensive and fulfilling experience.

Amazing Experience

I had an absolutely wonderful experience in Dublin with the Intern Group and I highly recommend it for anyone looking to gain working experience in a new and exciting country/city. I spent three months in Dublin this fall after graduating university in the spring, and it was definitely the right decision. I was matched with a great company that gave me a lot of responsibilities and tasks, which kept work exciting each day, and made invaluable connections. Dublin was also an amazing city and I met some great people through the intern group, which provided me with a small social circle from the very start that I spent a lot of time with exploring the city and the rest of the country. Overall it was a great experience!

Pros
  • Connected me with other interns and made great friends
  • Dublin is a really exciting city with lots to do
  • Internship experience and recommendation looks great on a resume
Cons
  • Gets cold and rainy quickly after September
  • The housing company's service wasn't great

Best Experience of my Life!

As someone who has never travelled alone or outside the country, my month in Thailand was so pivotal. Not only did I realize my own independence, but I was so happy to be immersed in a culture so different from my own. I also was able to make great friendships despite going on this trip with no familiar people. I am happy the program also immersed us in the community such as bringing us to street fairs and showing us the history of our destination. Because of this trip, I am open to exploring more of the world and am fearless when it comes to changing my environment!

What was your funniest moment?
I went to this giant mall and there was a boba shop, but right next to the stand was a boba mascot costume. I decided to get in it and dance around and all of my friends were dying.

Internship in Bangkok

The day to day life in Bangkok was a truly inspiring experience. No day is the same. From getting the bts or mrt to new places you've never heard of or trying new street food daily. You wont get bored. The work culture is completely different from the western world with the attitude of work hard play hard being the key factor. Theres a party on every street that ventures into the early hours of the morning. On top of the activities there are to offer the work place is friendly and welcoming to everyone. With lunches at the market to hanging out after hours. Being an intern in Bangkok is one of the best experiences to have.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
No matter what say yes, on your weekends and public holidays explore the rest of the country! Getting to other parts is easy and affordable. Plus you will meet so many people that you instantly connect with its easy to make friends.

Tokyo Internship

I have had an amazing time here! During these two months I've had the opportunity to work with professionals and learn a lot about marketing and startups, which where the fields I've worked in.
Living and working in Japan has had a huge impact on my everyday life. Now how know what it feels like being reallt far from home and having to rely just on myself and on my skills to sort out problems and difficult situations.
Thanks to the InternGroup I've experienced super funny and heartwarming moments, thanks to Erica and Alysha, our coordinators, who where always there to help and share valuable moments together!
