TIG Dublin Experience

Doing an internship in Dublin was a once in a lifetime experience that I was so lucky to be able to do. Rachel and Lauren were a huge help in making it such a positive experience and I am so thankful for their guidance and support. I am so glad that I pushed myself out of my comfort zone by coming to Ireland because I met people I never would have and formed relationships that will last a lifetime; and was able to completely immerse myself in a different culture, which is a very valuable experience. I believe this program is ideal for people who are looking to build their resumes and travel post-grad.

Pros
  • Rachel and Lauren from TIG
  • Walkable city
  • Safe city
Cons
  • Host Point Campus

Worth the while

This experience will take you on a roller coaster, driven by rich cultural exposure and a unique placement experience from the other side of the planet. The Intern Group provided a very warm and safe environment for us to work and have fun. Throughout the program, you will develop new ideas and approaches, meet new people, and undoubtedly acquire a range of skills. This includes not only technical skills relevant to your placement but also broader skills such as traveling, personal growth, application of transferable skills, and overall self-development.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Prioritise thorough research about the area you're heading to, whether it's your placement city or another destination. You'll always uncover valuable insights on what to do, what to avoid, and how to manage your budget effectively.

Absolutely loved it

I had a great time on my Dublin program! I decided to do a three month internship the fall after I graduated college, since I didn’t get to study abroad during school. Rachel and Lauren, my program coordinators, made the transition seamless and organized a lot of fun events for us interns that helped us bond. I made some amazing friends through this experience and I loved the city as well! Dublin has a lot of history, great museums, a fun pub scene, some amazing food, and a lot of cool little towns just a short train ride away. There is so much to see and do there!

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Definitely be open to taking adventures on your own, but also try and bond with other interns on your program! Everyone has a similar goal in participating in a program like this, so it’s more than likely you’ll find someone who wants to travel to the same places as you or do some of the same activities. Don’t be shy about jumping right into activities with new people.
Pros
  • There is something for everyone, Dublin has a lot to offer
  • Easy to travel to other places in Europe from Dublin on weekends
  • Got to work in a position that is going to look great on my resume
Cons
  • Some workplaces can be quite a long commute (1 hour or so) from the accommodation
  • The bus system can be unreliable

Experience of a lifetime!

I did my internship with The Intern Group in Colombia and I don’t have enough words to describe how amazing it was. The internship experience was beyond my expectations and the activities that were set up by the company were amazing. I cannot express how much this helped me in a professional matter. Also, our coordinator Maria was amazing and was always there for us. Please don’t think twice about doing your internship in Colombia! You will never regret being in such a beautiful country and with such beautiful people.

What was your funniest moment?
My funniest moment was when we were watching the Alborada in the rooftop with the other interns and we couldn’t stop laughing and crying because it was a really beautiful scene.
Pros
  • Great for CV building
  • Great to meet and know other cultures
  • A way to understand more of your field of choice
Cons
  • Internship may not go the way you imagined
  • Accommodation may be awkward

International internship in Tokyo

Got the chance to spent 2 months in Tokyo. Overall Japan is an amazing place to live in and to get to know different culture and traditions.
Although it’s really far from Europe lifestyle, we overcome every obstacles thanks to our coordinator Erika. She is one of a kind and always willing to help for any difficulties. If you are keen on doing something outside your comfort zones going overseas in a country like Japan will be one of your best memories.
You will learn to manage your working life in a big city and gain knowledge of Japanese lifestyle

What was the most surprising thing you saw or did?
Everything is surprising here in Japan, from the amazing bathroom till the highest building. But one that amazes me the most is that they have a real solution for every inconvenience.

London Internship Program with the Intern Group

I completed a remote internship for 20 weeks as a business consulting intern at a consulting firm in 2023. It was one of the brightest spots of my life. Through this program, I met lots of people, made new friends, and did a lot of traveling and exploring many exciting places in the UK. I would say living my life in a foreign country, espcecially in London, UK, gave me a lot of unforgettable memories. I love the time when I was living abroad and found good people who, by destiny, spent time and shared good memories with me, truly unforgettable moments. In addition, I have a unique opportunity to see the world in the way I have never seen it before. I literally experience that through participating in the London internship program and living like a Londoner. I was really happy that I made the right decision. Indeed, once-in-a life-time experience.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
I would suggest program participants to take a step out of your comfort zone when you are doing an internship in this program. Please try doing new things and also meet new people such as participating in a group meeting or event hosted or recommended by the program. By doing this, you will experience other culture and gain new perpectives and you will learn a lot.
Pros
  • You have an opportunity to see the world in the way you have never seen it before.
  • You have an opportunity to meet and know new people at the destination you chose.
  • You have an opprtunity to gain hands-on experience through professional internship.
Cons
  • Program fees are quite high.
  • Cost of living in London is quite high.

My Melbourne Internship Experience

My internship in Melbourne was great! The set experiences were the highlight of the trip. Perth our experience coordinator was amazing! Always listening and helping when needed.

I particularly enjoyed the vineyard and wildlife tour The Intern Group provided as part of the program! We got to see actual Koalas and Kangaroos which made the experience 10 times better as I've never seen one before!

This program has allowed me to meet so many cool people from around the world and I have made life-long friends from this program!

Life in Madrid as an Intern

Choosing to come to Madrid right after doing my postgraduate studies in the UK has been an exhilarating and exciting experience. Not only it challenges me to come out of my comfort zone but I have been able to enjoy my internship here and make good connections for life with my flatmates from different countries as well as with other participants. Madrid is also a safe, friendly, and historic city to visit especially if you are a Real Madrid Fan, you can watch the games live at Bernabeu and attend matches.

Pros
  • Making everlasting friends for life
  • Very helpful and guideful internship
  • Sensational events and experience
Response from The Intern Group

Important information for Non-european students

In general, not only the content of this internship was wonderful, but also Lucia and Lalita were always helpful during the process. Based on my experience, three points are remarkable.

① One of the most important thing that I have hardly seen in others' review, is that TIG can help you arrange the graduation internship required by some European University, which usually requires a third-party contract (you, internship company, and university). This is incredibly useful for some students to conduct international internship without working permit. I deeply remembered how helpless I was in the beginning when I searched for international internship as a non-European student at my university. But anyway, TIG help me make it possible.

② You should always take the initiative to reach out to different team-mates, not only because you might work in a very different culture, but also you probably can't Spanish in the beginning. If you are open and professional enough, your colleagues will be more than willing to help you.

③ You should know what's your priority during this internship. I know some people just want to have some international experience. My priority is to utilise this internship to achieve my academic goal (writing a sound paper) and professional goal (worked on a digitalisation project for a large captive company). So I don't pay a lot of attention to socialisation :(

International Business Internship

Very well organized with great host organization. Local staff were very helpful and organized plenty of bonding activities. Internship experience developed a lot of useful skills that I will carry on to the job market. This includes soft and hard skills such as public speaking, presentations, sales, communication, and organization. I was very involved throughout this whole process and contributed to the success of my organization throughout these three months. This includes attending networking events and expositions as well.
