New York Program

If you’re contemplating doing it, just do it you won’t regret it! Met the most amazing people, made so many memories and learnt so much during my internship! The intern group organise everything, and make you feel so prepared! They walked me through the visa steps, found me the best placement and matched me with the perfect roommate! The intern group coordinator was incredible, doing weekly check ins, organising day outs and offering 24/7 service when we need it! Truely the best part experience

Life changing experience!

I had an unforgettable time during my 8 weeks in Madrid. From meeting other amazing interns to working at a firm that met my professional goals, I was able to gain new professional and personal skills that I will carry to the next stage of my life. There is so much to do in Madrid, filled with culture and amazing food. Lalita and Nikte were so helpful in ensuring we had a great time here with the events. It does get really hot in the summer but the experience is so worth it. Recommend traveling to other cities in Spain while you’re here!

Once in a lifetime experience

Going to New York for an internship is one of the best decisions I have made. My workplace was really supportive, and the whole process from the interview to onboarding was smooth. Not only that but the amount of activities and fun you get to do within the city is incredible. And if i ever needed help at any time, my programme mentor responded to me very quickly. The lessons and online classes the intern group provides definitely help with your overall professional resume as well. I definitely do recommend

Good opportunities

I had an incredible experience with the InternGroup in Tokyo. The staff was exceptional, providing continuous support and assistance in all aspects of my internship. My internship was equally fantastic; the company I worked for significantly contributed to my growth by enhancing both my skills and knowledge. Additionally, I thoroughly enjoyed immersing myself in Japanese culture, exploring the diverse food, and learning about the rich traditions. The whole experience was enriching and memorable, making my time in Tokyo truly amazing.

Amazing experience in Madrid

The internship was truly a one of a kind experience, In the 6 Weeks I was there I grew as a person worker and much more due to the cultural immersion and work experience I was luck enough to participate in. The Madrid intern group was there every step of the way and very helpful throughout the whole process.

Madrid is a beautiful city with tons of things to do no matter what your interests are, the food is amazing the public transportation is very accessible and easy to navigate.

Overall I had an amazing time made several great connections and would recommend this experience to anyone thinking of participating in an internship abroad

Best Summer Ever! 8 weeks in Tokyo

My program coordinators, Alisha & Erika were the absolute best. Everything under TIG was fantastic. Best internship I could have asked for and there were always fun events to attend through the intern group. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking to do an international internship. I was an intern at an architecture firm for 8 weeks. The only thing I wish I could have changed is how far I lived from my office. The commute was tough at times but honestly I don’t have really anything negative to say.

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
I would have chosen housing that was closer to my place of employment.
Pros
  • Community
  • Culture
  • Friendships

8 week program in Madrid

I had such an amazing experience in Madrid this summer. I loved the company I was working for and I learned so much about my field, both in general and in an international context. It was super easy to make friends with other interns. The social events set up by TIG gave us the opportunity to not only explore the city and adjacent towns, but also build a community with other interns. I could not have been more satisfied with my experience and I would definitely recommend to anyone interested in international travel.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
There were definitely moments where the language gap was frustrating, especially in moments where I needed to understand what was going on around me. However because of the friendships I made with fellow interns, it was easier to overcome
Pros
  • Learned the language
  • Developed professionally
  • Enjoyed the city as a local
Cons
  • Unpaid work
  • Expensive
  • Lonesome at times

A supported journey into the Japanese work force.

My internship was a 6 month program in a non-TIG accommodation. The advisors were down to earth people, always available, and very helpful. My internship was an IT based one. I really enjoyed the company I worked at. All of my coworkers were very accommodating and I had a healthy work-life balance. Outside of the internship, there were many events that TIG hosted, including welcome parties for new Interns once or twice a month, going to landmarks in and around Tokyo, and outings to the nearby Kanagawa prefecture. I got along well with my fellow interns within the program and we also organized doing our own explorations of Tokyo. My only complaint is that the program fees are a little expensive, but if money is no a problem, I would whole-heartedly recommend this program to anyone looking to gain work experience in Tokyo or broaden their international perspective.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Tokyo is what you make of it. It is big enough that there probably is a shop or attraction for whatever niche hobby you may have. Personally, I have a keyboard hobby and was able to find a hobbyist keyboard shop in Akihabara. I built and modded my own keyboard with their own specialty switch. I think it's the most personalized 'Tokyo Souvenir' I could ever get and something I can use forever into the future.
Pros
  • A very safe location with great public transportation.
  • Plenty of opportunities for weekend activities.
  • Food is cheap and delicious.
Cons
  • Program fees are expensive.
  • Depending on where your accommodation is, commute time could be 1hr+
  • Personally did not experience, but I know some interns may have had problems with their accommodations (loud neighbors/dirty common areas)
