Going into the program I had just turned 19 and had no experience living on my own, let alone working in a foreign country. The Intern Group's program gave both support and a social network while also letting you be independent and giving you the tools to succeed. I can't stress enough how great the program was; the staff was amazing and they were always willing to help you out. The experience itself was truly enriching, I made life-long friends and developed both work and home skills while also growing as a person. I have come back more confident and mature while also knowing more about the career I want to pursue after I get my degree. I highly recommend this program especially if you are on the fence or nervous as I was, you will not regret it.

The Intern Group put me in a field that I wanted to pursue, which was marketing.
The process between application to post internship was transparent, simple and easy. The Intern Group kept in touch on a regular basis and offered regular help and guidance. In addition, I have gained more confidence in being independent! Plus, a new drive to succeed.

I would recommend it to anybody looking to explore a new area in the world as well as go after what they want to do!

Melbourne city itself is incredible! A very diverse culture. People here are both laidback and hard working at the same time.
It has now become a city that I’d want to visit on a regular basis!

I was one of the first interns to choose The Intern Group's (TIG) Santiago program so I arrived a bit skeptical, but the city exceeded any expectations I could have possibly had.

It is hard to describe Chile itself, there is something for everyone. Santiago is very metropolitan and doesn't reflect many other major cities in Latin America. It is surrounded by mountain ranges and just a short hour-or-so bus ride from the coastal cities! Everyone is extremely kind and I cannot name 1 instance I felt unsafe, even when making my way home from a later evening out.

TIG was really well organized! There were optional activities or excursions every Saturday which ended up being some of the best things we did! Some examples are vineyard tours and a day trip to Valparaiso!

We lived in a student accommodation building which worried me at first because I arrived with little-to-no Spanish but it ended up being one of my favorite aspects of the program; I met people from all over the world and my limited Spanish abilities really didn't matter. People are so kind and patient and either knew English or wanted to learn just as much as I wanted to pick up more Spanish!

One thing I will say is that the Spanish in Chile is very different from what I learned in school, it is faster, they use a lot of their own words and rarely pronounce s's. But Chileans are very understanding and aware that they need to slow it down a bit around any non-natives!

Pricing isn't much different from that of the United States. Chile's economy is doing really well so the Chilean Peso is stronger than other pesos, like the Mexican peso, for example.

Overall, this program was amazing and I would do it all over again if I could! My internship placement process was smooth and the company I ended up working for was fantastic- the goodbyes were very sad!!

Traveling to live and work in a country where you do not speak the same language and where the culture is so different from what you've previously experienced can be daunting. I soon learned I had nothing to be afraid of. Being immersed in Japanese culture and living in Tokyo for two months is something I will NEVER forget. Not only did I receive amazing work experience with my company, but The Intern Group staff created an environment that was safe and a community that was supportive and friendly. Along with the complimentary events like visiting Mt. Fuji, learning how to make sushi, and touring izakayas in Shinjuku, The Intern Group staff encouraged and facilitated other events that allowed us to fully experience Japanese culture. We frequently went out to dinner, enjoyed traditional Japanese festivals, and went on excursions to see what the city had to offer. I returned home with fun memories, experience to add to my resume, relationships that I will cherish for a long time, and a new appreciation for Japanese culture. As I write this review, I have only been home for a few days and I already cannot wait to go back. I had the experience of a lifetime and cannot recommend this program enough!

I always wanted to go abroad and get some sort of music experience and when I came across The Intern Group, I thought why not give it a go. After many Skype and Whatsapp calls and emails, I was set to go to Dublin in April. Dublin was not my first choice for location, however, after having completed my internship there, I have no regrets on this decision and hope to return someday. The idea of me going to Ireland never really sunk in until I set foot on the plane, even though I had spent months preparing beforehand and purchased my plane tickets, so after 28 hours of travelling, I was in shock that I had arrived! With a house tour and meeting new interns on the agenda for my first day, I was still in complete shock that I had arrived in little ol’ Dublin. I was fortunate enough to have several days to explore Dublin before my first day on the internship as it helped me have time to settle down and figure out how to get to my internship, where to do my groceries, plan places I wanted to go and explore the city.

For my internship I was fortunate enough to work at a local community radio station. It was a great place to learn everything about radio, and it also was a great platform to do my own projects. For me two months was enough time to gorge out how a radio station works, and figure out which areas of work I preferred or thought of doing next. There were plenty of other interns and volunteers there too, and everyone there was great to work with.

I arrived as a lone intern both in terms of my program and accomodation, however the TIG staff always had my back and there were interns already in Dublin so I was able to settle in quickly. This was also unique in that I was able to meet two different groups of interns that arrived at different times, so I was able to meet so many interesting people from across the globe in a short period of time.

TIG organised weekly events which were not compulsory but they were always a tonne of fun. Whether it was in Dublin or a day tour away from the city, it was a great way to explore the beautiful country, learn more about Irish culture and get to know the interns. There was some events that I missed later on during the program because there were some sites that I wanted to visit in Ireland, which was a bummer, so I would highly recommend planning on things to do in your short time there.

In terms of accomodation, I was only 30 minutes walking distance to the city centre which was great and was only minutes away from the local shopping centre. Most of my flat mates were there for one or two weeks and then disappeared because the rent was so high, so almost every week I would arrive in the kitchen and see someone new, so in terms of housing I think perhaps there could be a notification for a new housemate moving in. For example, I made friends with a housemate who I only talked with on the day she was moving out! Whilst this wasn’t a huge problem, I think it would have been nice to know who was living in the house at the time as it got a bit confusing.

Even though Dublin was not my preferred location, it is a wonderful city and I’m sad that I never thought of going there until the opportunity presented itself to me. The culture is amazing with the plethora of pubs and live music, the people are friendly and fun to be around with. Ireland has rich history too and I miss not having Irish people around in my everyday life.

It went by so fast at times it felt like a dream. I know I’ve rated it overall 10/10 but it’s more like a 12/10.

I had the opportunity to complete my marketing internship in Madrid this summer. I can honestly say it was the best decision I made. Not only did I get the marketing experience and credit from my school but I also had an amazing time. I experienced being part of a new culture and traveling alone for the first time. It was safe and there is always something going on whether it be an event from the program or just events around the city. The events hosted by the program are really fun and helps you get accustomed to the new changes. All the events are different so its a new experience every time. As for my internship, the process was very easy and everything is explained very well. My supervisors from my job were really nice and always answered any questions I had regarding my tasks.

How is the experience with Intern Group? It all starts when you are asked for the documents, it is always the most boring and tedious process since it has to go through several revisions and there is always that little feeling of nervousness because you do not know what they will offer you or if they will accept you in the program, and when you least expect it, the first job offers and an immense amount of emails arrive. You feel overwhelmed by the information and the nerves increase a bit, job interviews always worry me a little but when you talk to the first person from the Intern Group who will be in charge of placing you in a company, all the nerves go down. I am sure that everyone is like that but I was interviewed by a very warm person from England who receives you with a smile from ear to ear and treats you in a very professional but friendly way, all the people you deal with have an incredible disposition To help you with what you need but don't forget it, you will do professional practices. When you least expect it you are already at the airport to say goodbye to your loved ones and throughout the entire flight you have a head full of ideas about how your experience will be and the emotion invades your body. Once you are in Madrid you find more and more extremely friendly people that make you feel at home. When you arrive at your apartment you realize that you have everything you need and something you really appreciate is that everyone has a single room that helps you a lot to rest as you should. In the first few days you have a training from the Intern Group and then you know your work team, and I know I mentioned it many times but as expected, everyone is very friendly.
The first week is always very interesting because you get to know the city and you can always get lost in some way and you get to beautiful places by accident, you also meet amazing people and the days sometimes become complicated because you become an adult with all the responsibilities from one day to another and despite all the difficulties you decide to get to know the city and continue learning from all the things and people you know, try new things and realize everything you are learning by leaps and bounds. The work experience is always good and offers excellent opportunities to learn new things and get out of your comfort zone but you realize that the people you know contribute a lot to your life and teach you things that you would only learn if you go out in real life. People were a very important part to enjoy the trip, the practices were an opportunity that teaches you to grow as a person and constantly grow, the Intern Group staff helps you take away all worries, and these three things are good in themselves alone, but without a doubt what made this trip unforgettable was having the honor of experiencing all three together.

I came into this program with a handful of professional and personal goals, and I'm happy to say I achieved all of them!

Professionally, I wanted an internship in Madrid in order to get first hand experience in an office setting, with all of the challenges that come with that. I definitely got that, and I feel like these challenges have both made me more responsible and given me the confidence to say that I could work in a similar setting for future jobs. And while the work was challenging, my coworkers were all very welcoming, patient, and knowledgeable, so I never felt like I was performing badly or holding someone back.

Personally, I was very excited to experience Madrid's culture for myself! I wasn't disappointed: the food was delicious and surprisingly international, the public transportation was easy to navigate and made even the surrounding cities feel very accessible, and the nightlife, while I didn't explore it too much myself, I saw enough to say that it was far from lacking.

Overall, I'm very happy I decided to go, and I advise any interns going soon to make the most of the experience. 6 weeks seems like a lot before you arrive, but it went by in a flash: I could easily see myself having stayed 2 more weeks!

I started this experience with some objectives and now that I have finished my internship I can say that I learned more than I thought. For one side, I had the objective of working in other country to learn about cultural differences in work environment. Also I tried to do my best so I can be placed in a company that I liked. After six weeks, I’m sure that this experience gave me a set of tools that I can use in my future profesional life. Also, I have more confidence about me and started developing new skills. But this internship was not only about job, also you make relationships that help you to learn and being a better person. I made friends and we shared moments that will last forever. After work we discovered many places of Madrid and on weekends we traveled to other cities. This summer was amazing and I will remember every good moment with a smile. Also I have to say that this experience was possible thanks to The Intern Group people. Lalita, Beatriz, Carlos, and all the persons that are part of the organization cared about every detail. All the process was perfect, the interviews, the placement, the apartment where I lived, the social meetings, transportation and other things that The Intern Group managed made this possible. I recommend being part of this experience. Right now I feel that Madrid is a second home.

My internship in Dublin is an experience I will never forget. My placement helped me gain and refine many professional skills and had already paid off in terms of finding a job in my field. The biggest thing I learned was to always keep an open mind, that’s how you’ll get the most out of any situation. I’ve expanded my network globally, and was able to learn things from perspectives I never would have gotten otherwise.

The events planned by TIG were amazing- never a dull moment.

Anyone who has the opportunity to do an internship with TIG in Dublin, I would highly recommend embracing it. This is truly a unique opportunity that will put you ahead professionally all while exploring new parts of the world and meeting incredible people.
