Alaska for Older Teens was a great trip!

No one would really think that if they could travel, they would go to Alaska. I was totally like that. But after seeing what this trip had to offer, I decided to sign up and do it. It was such an amazing experience! By far, my favourite Travel for Teens trip. I was with a small group and we all got along so great. The activities were amazing like going sea kayaking and seeing seals, going hiking and seeing a herd of wild goats and a glacier, and going whitewater rafting down a canyon! I would totally do this trip again, if I could, I loved it so much. Travel for Teens is a great company to travel with because you’re going with great kids your age and you’re very safe. Also, the dinners and breakfasts are included and the counsellors, food and accommodations are great! I absolutely love Travel for Teens and would totally recommend signing up for the USA for Older Teens: Alaska Service & Adventure trip (only if you like the outdoors though).

What would you improve about this program?
The only thing I would improve is to minimize the amount of time we spent camping and spend it on going into a town or doing another adventure activity.

Another Fabulous Summer with TFT

After traveling with TFT last summer to Paris, France, Cinque Terre, Italy, Florence, Italy, and Interlaken, Switzerland, I thought nothing could top the memories I made on this whirlwind trip. However, traveling to Thailand this summer as a Counselor in Training gave me a whole new level of appreciation for TFT and the impact the staff truly has on shaping the campers' experiences. I loved the balance between community service, cultural exploration, and exhilarating adventures. Everyday brought something new and different, especially as we traveled across the country to experience the natural beauty, bustling cities, and breathtaking islands Thailand has to offer. I can't recommend this trip enough for future campers and am so excited to continue working with TFT in the future! Go TFT!

California and the Grand Canyon!

Travel for Teens creates a wholesome experience for its campers by carefully planning activities that cover a big range, from watching a show in Las Vegas to sea kayaking in San Diego. My third trip with Travel for Teens covered Las Angeles, San Diego, Las Vegas, and Arizona in 11 days! It was action packed with things like Disneyland, a bike tour through Santa Monica, and exploring Grand Canyon National Park! My favorite part of the trip was exploring Arizona! Along with the Grand Canyon, we explored Horseshoe bend and Antelope Canyon! Walking through Antelope Canyon was a sight to behold, with the red rocks contrasting the blue sky above. It was stunning. I always leave my Travel for Teens trips with lifelong friends and memories, and I couldn't be more grateful for my experiences with this company.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Be open to getting out of your comfort zone! This is a big part of traveling, and it is the best way to grow as an individual!

Sea lions, sea turtles, see everything!

This summer was my favorite summer yet. I had the chance to spend a week on the Galapagos Islands and two more weeks in the numerous amazing places in Ecuador. I was able to snorkel with sea lions and sea turtles, learn about Charles Darwin's research, and help out the local community to maintain the island's sustainable practices. The Galapagos were incredible, but I could not wait to go to the Amazon! Not many people can say that they hiked through the Amazon to get to a lodge and shortly after, go piranha fishing, and top off the night with a night-walk to spot giant tarantulas. The adventure did not end there. We hiked up Cotopaxi, one of the tallest volcanos in Ecuador. The views were unbelievable! We finished off the trip but relaxing in natural hot springs, standing in the middle of the world (on the equator), and going on the best ziplining course I've ever seen. This was a truly unforgettable trip, and I have found another country to add to my list of places to re-visit!

What was the most unfamiliar thing you ate?
Piranha, ants, and medicinal plants found in the Amazon!

Best Three Weeks Ever!

In the Summer of 2018, I had the amazing opportunity of traveling to Australia and New Zealand. It was absolutely amazing. I got to do once-in-a-lifetime activities such as scuba diving at the Great Barrier Reef and the Sydney Bridge Climb. These are memories that I will never forgot. for community service, we volunteered at a wallaby sanctuary. This was absolutely amazing, The wallabies were beyond cute, and they reminded me of my dog that I missed dearly. I never once imagined that I would be able to spend so much time with wallabies, and it was amazing.I had the most amazing counselors and met friends that I still keep in touch with. There was not a day that I did not love. If you have the opportunity to do this, you should, I can guarantee that you will not regret it.

Scandinavian Adventure

I got to go on the Scandinavian Adventure trip with Travel for Teens this summer. It was my 5th trip with TFT and I enjoyed the entire trip so much! We did lots of adventurous activities such as white-water rafting, ziplining, glacier hiking, going to amusement parks, going on a ghost tour and riding in a jet boat. Each county we got to visit was beautiful, especially Norway, which was absolutely breathtaking. The food on the trip was absolutely delicious, I even got to try whale, moose, and reindeer! The staff were always there to help and answer any questions I may have had. The counselors on my trips were approachable, fun, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable of the countries we were in. They made sure the trip ran smoothly the entire time, as well as making sure everyone on the trip was having a good time! I made some of the best memories in Scandinavia thanks to TFT!

Thailand Elephants and Explores

I got to go on the Thailand Elephant and Explores trip with TFT this summer! It was my 4th trip with TFT and one of my favorites. We got to do amazing service work taking care of elephants at an elephant sanctuary, getting to work hands on with the enormous animals. We also got to go on a two-day white-water rafting trip down the Pai river, which allowed us to see Thailand from a completely different perspective. The food on the trip was delicious, and every activity we did was so much fun! staff were always there to help and answer any questions I may have had. The counselors on my trip were approachable, fun, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable of the country we were in. They made sure the trip ran smoothly the entire time, as well as making sure everyone on the trip was having a good time!
got to learn so much about the Thai culture thanks to Travel for Teens.

Amazing

This program was really great. I had a lot of fun on the trip and I loved making new friends also. The counselors are amazing. They truly care about the trips and the programs. One of my favorite parts was the volunteering. We volunteered on a little farm in the country side of Greece. They made us a completely homemade dinner and it was so amazing. Not only was the food good but putting work into what we got felt great and I hope in the future I will get more experiences like this. I have been involved with travel for teens for years and I definitely advise everyone to get involved. They always run a variety of great programs and i cannot wait to continue my involvement with the organization. I love what they’re doing and their philosophy.

I had the time of my life

Before the trip, I had reservations that the program might be too pre-planned, coddled, or inflexible, especially with a group of 21 kids. After going to 4 different towns and cities, I have to say that I had the time of my life. Ryan is a very understanding and flexible trip director who works his hardest to fufill any individual wishes we might have, on the itinerary or not. Though he is very accommodating, he is certainly not a pushover either and keeps us feeling safe and secure no matter what. What really touched me was how much effort he took to get to know every individual on the trip and it was obvious to us as campers that he wanted nothing more than to provide the best possible experience for us during our time with him. Whether we were interested in scenery, socializing, food, thrills, or anything else, he made sure that we got what we wanted and that everyone’s interests were accommodated. I had the time of my life and by the time the trip was over, I felt that I had no regrets about my time at each city and felt that the trip left no stones unturned in any leg of the trip.

What was the most surprising thing you saw or did?
The Cinque Terre, is a group of five towns perched on the dramatic coastline of Italy. I hiked around 15 miles in a day and explored these five towns.

Trip of a Lifetime

I participated in the Europe for Older Teens: Florence, Cinque Terre, Interlaken, and Paris trip. This trip was easily one of the best weeks of my life. The trip is well balanced with sight seeing, shopping, relaxing at the beach, hiking, eating, and more. The staff is amazing! They make the trip extra fun and are great to be around. They are approachable, relatable, and really care about everyone on the trip. Every city was different and the trip does a great job of getting to see as much as the city has to offer in a short time. The food is amazing and I got to try different foods unique to each city. I loved that we were able to explore on our own time while the staff was near by and easy to contact if we needed them. I made amazing friends I still talk to and memories I will never forget.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
There was an optional excursion to go paragliding in the Swiss Alps. I was the first to go out of the group; they told me just to start running off the cliff. I was terrified but it was the craziest and most amazing moment I will never forget.
