BEST TIME EVER

Visiting the west coast and Canada was one of the best decisions of my life hands down. The National Parks were incredible sights to see. Rock climbing in Utah was the scariest adventure of my life, but so rewarding. I loved white water rafting and Alcatraz had the best audio tour I’ve ever heard. Camping out underneath the stars in Utah and Colorado was beautiful and I cannot imagine having a better experience. I loved the friends I made on the trip and my trip leaders were well equipped for all situations we experienced and amazing people in general. I can’t wait to travel with TFT again!

best summer ever!

This summer I had a great time in Fiji. We stayed in several resorts that all had such friendly staff members. I spent my birthday at my favorite resort, and it was one of my favorite parts of the trip. TFT has an amazing staff that makes you feel safe and welcome the entire time. I made some of my best friends through this trip, and I am so thankful for that. I even got to go scuba diving, which I probably would not be able to do in the United States without a license. The service aspect of my trip was especially rewarding. We built a trash incinerator at a local school and we got to play with the children afterwards. I would totally recommend this trip to anyone who is looking to experience another culture, help benefit our world, and make new friends!! :)

What would you improve about this program?
Honestly I cannot think of anything significant to be improved on, the only thing I would struggle with is the price but that can be expected when traveling to a foreign country.

One of the best experiences of my life!

I went on the Italy Service and Adventure trip during the Summer of 2018, which was my first trip with Travel for Teens. I can genuinely say that I had some of the best days of my life on this trip! My fellow travelers and I took part in meaningful service activities such as helping maintain a garden at a monastery and renovating an Italian elementary school. After a few days of service, we focused on the adventure portion of the trip! This included visiting historic sites such as Pompeii and taking boat rides up and down the Amalfi Coast. Overall, this trip was both humbling and incredible fun. It was an amazing opportunity for me to experience what Italy is like from a real traveler's point of view, not a tourist's!

What would you improve about this program?
The program was very fast paced and did involve some early mornings. It would be great if we could spend more time in each city and have a relaxed day here or there.

Immersion in Australian and New Zealand Culture

My trip to Australia and New Zealand with Travel for Teens has changed my perspective on traveling, I was not just a tourist when I visited these foreign countries but became extremely immersed in their culture, through experiences such as watching a ritualistic haka in New Zealand to camping in the Australian outback with locals. I felt at home in these countries and not out of place, which sometimes can happen when traveling. We stayed in hostels, not big chain hotels and got to meet so many locals that we could learn a lot from, such as where the best traditional places to eat were and where we should shop or visit if we had any free time (which luckily was not often because we always had some fun activity planned). Overall, I honestly had the time of my life on this trip and it really opened my eyes to truly experiencing different cultures, after I even told my Mom that this trip has showed me that I want-NEED to continue traveling to different parts of the world for the rest of my life.

What would you improve about this program?
This trip could be improved by having a longer stay at each city, there was a lot of quick traveling where it was hard to get settled in to each place.

Amazing Experience!

This was my first time traveling abroad alone without my family. I have always wanted to travel to Iceland. Travel for Teens had a great itinerary and covered all of the most iconic destinations and waterfalls that Iceland has to offer. Along with traveling to all of the best locations they included a variety of super fun activities that I wouldn’t have found out about by myself. Before the trip I was worried about meeting new people and how the counselors would handle the teens and the trip as a whole. The counselors exceeded my expectations they made everything fun and made sure nobody was left out. They always made sure everyone and everything was accounted for. On travel days everything went smoothly, even though one of the teens suitcase was left by the airline in the USA the counselors talked to the airline and made sure he got his bag the next day. They handled everything so well. It was amazing to be able to meet teens from all around the world and to be able to experience a new country with them. It is a trip I will never forget and I am so excited to go on another trip next summer!

Peru Service and Discovery

This was my second trip with TFT and it was so fun. I went on this trip because I loved the first trip I did, South Africa service. This trip was amazing because there were so many different experiences. My favorite part of this trip was the home stay we did, this was the part I was most nervous about because I had no idea what to expect. But it was amazing, the hosts were so welcoming and it was something I had never experienced before. It allowed me to see how differently people live. Overall this trip was amazing.

What would you improve about this program?
I would say more service, we did a good amount but when you are there you see how much more you could be doing.

Great experience

I went on this trip in 2018 and it was my second Tft trip. I had such a great experience with cultural immersion, trying new Foods, and meeting great people. I highly recommend this trip to people who are ready for an exciting adventure. My favorite part was trying the food. I had never had Greek food before we went to greece but now I would eat it every day if I could. Travel for teens is a great company that my family has trusted for years. And they never disappoint.

What would you improve about this program?
Better service opportunities.

My experience in Japan.

I went to Japan with Travel for Teens as a teenager who didn’t know what she wanted from life. I have always been interested in Japanese culture but before I went on this trip I didn’t know it would have such a huge impact on who I am right now. I have actually chosen to major in Japanese language at my university and I will be returning to Japan next year for a study abroad session. This trip with Travel for teens changed my life.

What would you improve about this program?
Make it last a little bit longer

Exciting and Interesting

This was truly an amazing experience. We volunteered for the earthquake and tsunami disaster relief effort in the Iwate region, visited magical hidden shrines in the rural town of Nikko, experienced volcanic springs in the mountainous region of Hakone, and explored big cities like Tokyo and Hiroshima, as well as got a first-hand perspective of local customs and culture. The hotels were always safe and comfortable, and our tour guide, Akemi, is one of the most wonderful people I know and has vast knowledge of Japan. 10/10 would go on this trip again.

I only wished we could stay longer!

Setting My Soul Free

Before this trip, i was very introverted. I was the one in the back and who's voice was never heard. One of the greatest weaknesses I had was social anxiety, and I was going on a trip with a bunch of other kids my age who I thought I would never get along with at first. No one really paid much attention to me until we left, and from there I bonded with each individual teen and counselor. On that trip I completely let loose and began making friends who I am still friends with today, and this experience has definitely taught me to open my soul up to the people around me, and establish a connection with anyone I meet.

What would you improve about this program?
The only thing that others may be cautious of is staying with the group. i wandered off a lot, but could be Japanese. I also had to spend the night at an airport, waiting for my plane, alone.
