Teaching

It was a great experience. It taught me how to be patient, and the tutors were helpful.

I hope to travel overseas and teach people, and make friends. I think that it was really fun taking this course. I am going to be the best tutor one day on a big platform. I am planning to pursue other certificates if God wills.

It was both stressing and fun. When I become a tutor, I will try to connect with you guys and tell you about my achievements. Thank you so much for this wonderful opportunity. Always grateful for this experience.

TESOL/TEFL Certificate

Wow!!!

I am still amazed at how fast I've managed to complete my TESOL/TEFL Certificate in just 2 weeks. All because of how straight forward and helpful their tutors are. I would recommend anybody to try it out. And best of they are internationally accredited.

Just from starting I managed to convince my friend to join because I sent her my progress everyday and it motivated her to register and start her journey too.

Thank you World TESOL Academy for giving me the platform to learn and change my future🌍❤️.

Teaching English online

Taking this course will give you the basic understanding and refresher course in the English Language. This course was easy to understand and get from one lesson to the next. I would recommend this to my friends and family. One benefit of being able to teach online will provide a world of experience for myself and my family and also gaining employment as a teacher in another country will provide world life experiences for myself and my children. Teaching English in the home country of the student will be a vital tool for children to build relationships with me as their teacher. I am looking forward to this wonderful opportunity that this will provide.

What was your funniest moment?
A funny moment while taking the course was to see that I could use props to teach and one day as I was practicing a lesson I had a wig on and funny clothes and my children thought I was trying to be a clown as a job and then they understood that it was for the program and that other children will find it funny and will want to learn English.
Pros
  • Remote work anywhere in the world
  • Flexible scheduling
  • Wider student reach
Cons
  • Technical difficulties
  • work-life balance
  • social isolation

Not very engaging

For someone with ADHD, this program becomes rather repetitive and boring. This program is mostly about reading. You read the lesson, you may have a video showcasing something that was taught, then take a quiz. It is not very engaging or innovative.

It might also not be very accessible for blind people as there is no option for text-to-speech built in. Overall, it is a well-built course.

Good experience

The course is well-structured, combining theoretical knowledge with practical teaching strategies. Modules cover lesson planning, classroom management, language skills, and teaching methodologies, making it suitable for beginners and those with some prior experience.

The online format is flexible, allowing me to learn at my own pace while still receiving feedback from experienced instructors. I particularly appreciated the practical assignments, which helped me apply concepts directly to lesson planning and teaching scenarios.

Overall, surprisingly helpful

Very helpful and detailed. I was amazed by all of the information that I didn't expect to gain. Especially with how to deal with students and how to plan your lessons, the pshycology behind it and all the factors needed to make your lesson as successfull as possible. It's easy to use and understand. I loved all of the lessons explaining how it's important to pay attention to other cultures as that would have never came to my mind. Very thoughtful and considerate course. Definitely would recomend it for anyone that is looking for a carieer in teaching either online or overseas.

What would you improve about this program?
I personally would only delete the lessons like phonetics and such that aren't taught in schools and aren't needed for teaching.
Pros
  • Short and easy to understand
  • Very detailed and considerate
  • Contains all of the factors for teaching
Cons
  • Some lessons aren't needed for teaching

A Really Helpful TESOL Course

I really found this TESOL course helpful. It felt like my brain opened up a little, and I got a much better idea of what to do as a teacher. It teaches you not just the theory, but also how to handle kids and guide them while teaching. The course is great for brushing up on your skills and preparing you to be confident in the classroom. I learned so many new things, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to teach English as a second language.

Overall, this course not only improved my teaching skills but also boosted my confidence, making me feel more prepared and excited to step into a real classroom.

What would you improve about this program?
I think one thing that could make this program even better is having more of the practical videos they showed at the end of each lecture. Those videos, where we got to see teachers actually using the techniques they were teaching, were really helpful. As a teacher, sometimes I had no idea how to apply the methods in a real classroom, but watching those videos made it so much clearer. I believe every section should include more of these short videos, showing us exactly how teachers put the lessons into practice. I would definitely recommend adding more because they really help bridge the gap between theory and practice.
Pros
  • I learned a lot about classroom dynamics and how to get students’ attention effectively.
  • The course gave me practical guidance on being a confident and prepared teacher.
  • I discovered new teaching techniques that I hadn’t thought about before.
Cons
  • I wish there were more practical videos showing teachers using the techniques in real classrooms.
  • Some sections could use more examples or demonstrations for tricky concepts.
  • I feel it would be helpful if the course included a compulsory activity or seminar where participants could practice what they’ve learned.

My Journey Through the TESOL Course: Learning, Growing, and Teaching

First, thank you for the great TESOL course—I learned a lot and feel more confident as a teacher. The lessons were clear, practical, and helped me build real teaching skills I use every day. That said, I wish the course offered more ready-to-use teaching materials and lesson plans that I could use directly in my classes. Having those resources would make it easier to apply what I learned and help my students even more.

I hope you consider adding practical class materials in the future to support teachers like me better.

Thanks again for your hard work!

Best regards,
Nico

Affordable English Teaching resource

I recently completed the 120-hour TEFL/TESOL course offered by World TESOL Academy. While the course provided a foundational understanding of teaching English as a foreign language, my overall experience was mixed.

The course is designed for beginners, covering essential topics such as lesson planning, classroom management, and teaching methodologies. The modules are structured to be accessible, with clear objectives and concise explanations. However, the depth of content was limited, and I found that some areas lacked comprehensive coverage.

An aspect that stood out was the inclusion of video materials. While these videos aimed to illustrate teaching techniques, I found that some did not align well with the content being tested in the accompanying quizzes. This disconnect made it challenging to fully grasp certain concepts and apply them effectively.

The assessment process involved multiple-choice quizzes at the end of each module, followed by a final exam. The quizzes were straightforward, and I was able to complete the course in a relatively short time frame. Upon successful completion, I received a certificate, which is useful for entry-level teaching positions. However, it's important to note that some employers may prefer certifications from more established institutions.

Throughout the course, I had access to online support, including a help desk and job board. While these resources were available, I did not find them to be particularly robust or interactive. Additional support, such as peer discussions or instructor feedback, could enhance the learning experience.

In conclusion, World TESOL Academy's 120-hour TEFL/TESOL course offers a basic introduction to teaching English. It is suitable for those seeking a quick overview or entry-level certification. However, for individuals aiming for a deeper understanding or planning to teach in more competitive environments, I recommend considering programs with more comprehensive content and stronger industry recognition.

What would you improve about this program?
I touched on this in my review but I would introduce more relevant video material to testing
Pros
  • It was a great introductory course
