TEFL/TESOL course from World TESOL Academy

An AMAZING course highlighting crucial pointers in teaching English Language in both face-to-face and online settings.

Overviews have been given starting from basic English Language words, punctuation and sentences, all the way up to ways to manage classrooms and students.

Exercises offered on the introduction page of most units or modules are very helpful, and ease you into the coming module core. Quizzes were straightforward and content-related, managing to sum up the module's main ideas. Overall, an amazing experience.

TESOL Certification

I was very excited to assess TESOL Certification because I have been a Language Teacher for the past 5 years, but only because I was bilingual.

I didn't have the theory and foundations needed to succeed as an ESL Teacher, yet I studied hard, prepared my lessons, and had the chance to change the lives of hundreds of kids by teaching them English.

Now I have all the knowledge I need to perform better as an ESL Teacher.

Thank you, World TESOL Academy, for your support and for developing these kinds of Certification Courses.

Pros
  • Great Material
  • Good platform
  • Structured and complete information
Cons
  • Lack of interaction with other ESL Teachers

Strongly Recommend

I am an online English teacher, but I did not major in TESOL at university. I find this course helpful, it contains the contents of a class, such as types of vocabulary, tenses and sentence structures. Also, some useful teaching methods like TPR, CCQ, help me to teach my students better. Additionally, I gained advice on how to set up an online classroom, including recommendations for which camera to use and which microphone to use. For teaching tools, I get to know it can be helpful to prepare props.

My Experience with Tesol

At first, I had this kind of feeling that maybe I am not going to make it but and the lesson went by I am enjoying learning and motivated to do well especially when I had mistakes in answering the quizzes. It helps me to review my past lessons in high school and helps me to learn new lessons as well. I love how they sequence their lesson in an easy way that students like me won't have a hard time studying. They also provided us techniques that I may able to apply in teaching online in the future and even now that I am teaching kindergarten and elementary students here in South Korea. Thank you so much for this program. Godbless you more.

Amazing course!

I like how easy and engaging this was. The instructions were simple. And the course was really short.

I recently completed my TESOL certification through World TESOL Academy, and overall, I had a very positive experience. The course was affordable, well-structured, and accessible, making it a great choice for those new to teaching English or looking for a flexible option to boost their credentials.

The material covered key areas like lesson planning, classroom management, grammar, teaching methodologies, and the four core language skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. I appreciated the clear explanations and practical examples, which made the content easy to understand even without prior teaching experience.

One thing that stood out was the focus on real classroom applications. The quizzes at the end of each module helped reinforce what I learned, and the final assessment challenged me to apply my knowledge in a practical way. The course also emphasized teaching online and adapting to different student needs, which is especially valuable today.

Customer support was responsive whenever I had a question, and the digital certificate was issued quickly upon completion. While it may not have live teaching components or in-depth feedback like more expensive programs, it’s excellent value for the price and a solid first step into the ESL teaching world.

Overall rating: 5/5

Highly recommended for anyone looking to start their ESL teaching journey or add a recognized certification to their resume.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
I would suggest you take notes and really do well on your quizzes before going ahead to the final exam.
Pros

Good Enough

This course is well-made and contains essential information for teachers in general. I do appreciate the "how to motivate students" section. I only wish it went deeper into online teaching techniques for upper levels. I feel like all the tips would work wonderfully for young learners, but not for adults. Otherwise, it's great.

PS: UX could be better, there could be video spoken versions of the topics, and it can become boring when reading through the modules.

TESOL: An Enriching and Eye - Opening Experience

Introduction

TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) has emerged as a globally recognized field, equipping educators with the skills and knowledge to teach English effectively to non - native speakers. My journey into the realm of TESOL has been nothing short of transformative, filled with valuable experiences, profound insights, and personal growth. This report aims to detail my experiences during my TESOL course, shedding light on the key aspects of the program, the challenges faced, and the significant lessons learned.

Course Structure and Content

The TESOL course I participated in was structured in a comprehensive and systematic manner. It covered a wide range of topics, starting from the fundamental principles of language teaching, such as grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation, to more advanced concepts like second - language acquisition theories, curriculum design, and assessment methods.

One of the most engaging parts of the course was the practical teaching sessions. These sessions provided hands - on experience in planning and delivering English lessons to real - life learners. Through micro - teaching activities, I had the opportunity to put the theoretical knowledge into practice. For example, when teaching grammar, I learned how to present complex grammar structures in a simplified and engaging way. Instead of lecturing on grammar rules, I designed interactive activities such as grammar games and role - plays. These activities not only made the learning process more enjoyable for the students but also enhanced their understanding and retention of the grammar concepts.

The course also delved deep into second - language acquisition theories. Understanding theories like Krashen's Input Hypothesis and Stephen Swain's Output Hypothesis was crucial. It helped me realize the importance of providing comprehensible input to students and creating opportunities for them to produce language output. Armed with this knowledge, I was able to design lessons that facilitated natural language acquisition in the classroom.

Challenges Faced

Despite the numerous benefits of the TESOL course, it was not without its challenges. One of the primary challenges was dealing with the diverse needs and backgrounds of the students. In my teaching practice, I encountered students with different levels of English proficiency, learning styles, and cultural backgrounds. Catering to the individual needs of each student while maintaining a cohesive classroom environment was a daunting task.

For instance, some students were visual learners and preferred to learn through pictures and videos, while others were auditory learners and benefited more from listening exercises. To address this, I had to incorporate a variety of teaching methods and materials into my lessons. Another challenge was managing classroom discipline. In a diverse classroom, it was not uncommon for students to have different attitudes towards learning, and some students were more disruptive than others. Developing effective classroom management strategies to ensure a conducive learning environment was an ongoing process.

Professional and Personal Growth

The TESOL course has had a profound impact on my professional and personal growth. Professionally, it has equipped me with the necessary skills and knowledge to become a competent English language teacher. I am now more confident in my ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons, assess student progress, and adapt my teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.

Moreover, the course has broadened my understanding of different cultures. Teaching English to students from various cultural backgrounds has made me more culturally sensitive and aware. I have learned to respect and embrace cultural differences, which has not only improved my teaching effectiveness but has also enhanced my interpersonal skills. On a personal level, the TESOL course has boosted my self - confidence. Successfully delivering lessons and seeing the progress of my students has given me a sense of achievement and fulfillment.

Conclusion

In conclusion, my experience with TESOL has been an enriching and rewarding journey. The course has provided me with a solid foundation in English language teaching, enabling me to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in this field. Although I faced several challenges along the way, these challenges have served as valuable learning opportunities, contributing to my professional and personal growth.

I am grateful for the opportunity to have participated in the TESOL course, and I look forward to applying the knowledge and skills I have gained in my future teaching career. I believe that the TESOL experience has not only prepared me to be a better teacher but has also inspired me to continue learning and growing in this dynamic field.

120-hour TESOL course

I thoroughly enjoyed the 120-hour TESOL course and found it to be an incredibly valuable experience. Whenever I faced any challenges, I received prompt and effective support from the instructors, which helped me stay on track. Very intuitive

This TESOL/TEFL course is was great for many reasons. I enjoyed the fact that it gets to the point, while still providing useful information. It teaches technical terms you'll use in a classroom, to practical information such as how to set up your own workspace for remote teaching. It also gives important information on how to navigate the foreign students and cultures we'll be teaching to. This course also has very digestible information and intuitive questions, both for the quizzes and final exam.

While the course was informative, having more real-time engagement would have provided deeper insights and a chance to exchange ideas and experiences.
