Teaching Nomad, and the agent I worked with, Darrah O'Flaherty, have been great. They've been really supportive during the whole process from choosing jobs, interviewing, accepting offers, giving advice, to holding your hand and allaying your fears during the visa process. They are always easy to get in contact with and response time is super fast. I highly recommend Teaching Nomad. The schools I've been in contact with and ultimately accepted a job offer from have been very supportive about the visa process and answering questions about life there in another country and the expectations of the school and new society you will be joining. I have learned so much already! It's an extremely exciting opportunity and I would advise anyone who could do this to do this and to give Teaching Nomad a try.

I applied with Teaching Nomad when I decided to leave my current school in the middle east (Ras al Khaimah). I was not ready to go back to the UK, hence I started to look for KG teaching positions in the middle east. Mike Ostrowski was the coordinator I was assigned to, He was very supportive and helped me get a position in a school that fitted me best. Mike was amazing and did not stop until I found a good school. I was very delighted with how experienced and prepared Mike was when he was dealing with my application. He emailed me back and forth and reassured me through out the entire process. Within two weeks of being assigned to Mike I knew I was ging to find the right school due to the effort he put in. Madison Van Doren was my placement consultant and was AWESOME. She was able to answer ALL my questions I had and helped me a lot with looking for my job in Shanghai China. Madison was able to help me figure out what type of job I want and where in Shanghai I wanted to be located. On my first interview I was offered a job. I am so excited to start my new job in August 2019. The process of applying for job wasn't hard or long and Madison also helped me apply for job as well. I am so grateful to have found Teaching Nomad. I think I am going to love my new job and I owe it all to Teaching Nomad. When my husband and I were looking for teaching positions in China, our contact Madison at Teaching Nomad was so helpful! We were really nervous about the job search process because we needed to find jobs together and we were planning on doing a decent amount of traveling, so we needed a job with good benefits and good vacation time. Working with Madison has made my job hunting for work abroad a breeze. She was such a pleasure to work with right from the start. As someone who has teaching experience but not experience teaching English, I found that this course was a great opportunity to learn about what it's like to teach English abroad. There are videos of classroom sessions which are great examples, and you can practice writing lesson plans with detailed and timely feedback from the instructors. You can also revise the lesson plans you submit based on instructor feedback.

This course is a bit more expensive than some 120-hour online TEFL courses, but it seems more thorough than average, from what I researched. This company also helps with document legalization, which is rare for TEFL companies, and a major help if you're going to China. The course is mainly focused on teaching children, but there's lots of helpful teaching theory relevant to any age group. I was able to finish the course in a little under a week, but I made it my main focus. The exams are low-pressure because you can download the readings and reference them as you take the exams.

Madison is the best recruiter that I have ever met! She helped me get a job within 2 weeks of my first meeting with her. She provided me with resources that helped gain a greater insight into the area I wanted to go into. Which in turn made the interview easier as I knew a lot about the job I was applying for. When you work with Madison you also have her contact details which makes it easy for you to communicate with her and she only puts you forward for roles you are suitable for. I would recommend her and the agency to anyone who is looking to get into English teaching. In a nut shell, my experience of working with Madison was exceptional. From initial contact until she successfully placed me into an English teaching Role, she consistently supported me in my applications. She went above and beyond to ensure I was prepared for interviews and provided an approachable but professional service. Highly recommended.
