Oxford Royale Academy - Law

My experience at Oxford Royale Academy was one of a lifetime. My course was challenging but extremely fun and I feel I will take the skills and knowledge I have gained with me for the rest of my life. But on top of this I did not expect to make the amazing life long friends that I did. Oxford Royale is a family and I’m so happy to have been a part of it! Thank you so much for having me and I hope I made you proud! I would recommend ORA to anyone and everyone.

One of the best things that have ever happened to me in my life

This trip was one of the best things that have ever happened to me in my life. I come from a very small country located in Central America named El Salvador and I was the only one of my country in the college I assisted to that was St Peter's College , I was proud of representing my small country at Oxford Royale Academy.
I took a course named Introduction to Leadership and it was the best course that I could have ever chosen, I learned different leadership styles and how famous leaders the world has known took decisions thinking about others instead of themselves. The course surpassed what I expected in an incredible way. In addition to the amazing classes I received, I had the opportunity to visit beautiful places around Oxford and also getting to know amazing people that now I can call my friends and that I hope I will never loose contact with them. The last thing I can say is that I was the luckiest girl in the world because I won a scholarship from ORA and they were the ones that made this experience possible for me. I will always be gratefully with ORA for giving me the opportunity to go to Europe for the first time, the education I had in those two weeks, the opportunity of meeting amazing friends from all around the world and the memories that will always live in my mind and heart.
Thank you ORA for this one of a kind opportunity and I hope I can return one day.

ORA 2017

I guess action speak louder than words - I came to ORA twice, that's how much I loved it.

The first time was in 2016 at Balliol College where I took "Oxford Enterprise Program" which is an introduction course to Business and Economics.

The second time was in 2017 at Merton College where I took the "Public speaking" course, which is a course that teaches you how to make a good speech (posture, language, etc).

The funny part is that I met my friend who was at ORA Balliol 2016, Sergio Carrasco, at ORA Merton this year. *Seems like I wasn't the only one enjoying the ORA course. *

The extra activities were fun too! We visited the Ashmolean museum, went to le Manoir by Raymond Blanc and Oxford is simply a gorgeous city!

Thank you ORA for this amazing experience!

Second to none

To be honest, before I started my two weeks in the programme, I had wished I could just leave. However, as the first few days passed, I learnt new concepts, ideas, facts, saw new sights, but most importantly, met new people. The best thing about ORA was, simply put, the sheer variety of cultures, ideas and personalities that you come into contact with as a part of its international nature. Nevertheless, the academic aspect of ORA is still not adulterated by this. Being situated in one of the most well-educated parts of the UK, even the general atmosphere compels you to work harder, and strive for success. ORA is truly unique experience, and by the end, I could only have wished the course was longer.

Oxford Royale Academy 2017

Actions speak louder than words, so, I will just tell you that I went to ORA twice (in 2016 and 2017).

I loved my first experience at Balliol College in 2016. I am very interested in business and economics so I took the Oxford Enterprise Program. It was great.

I decided to come back in 2017 to learn Public Speaking at Merton College and to be honest, it was even better.

ORA really listens to every single opinion of yours and really try improve. That's how you know that you are in good hands.

The teachers are great and the friends that I made at ORA are so precious to me. They come from all over the world. We still see each other very often (that's when you know they are real friends and not just some acquaintances).

ORA changed my vision of life and made me realise that I am a part of the movers and the shakers.

What would you improve about this program?
More excursions outside Oxford ( for example: a weekend in London)

My ORA experience

My experience was great! The lesson were extremely interesting and the teacher were excellent, they helped me a lot to be more confident in class! The activities were really exciting and through them I had the chance to try a lot of new things with my new friends!! Generally the whole experience was very interesting and I definitely recommend it to anyone that's searching for something fun and interesting to do during the summer holidays!!

What.An.Experience

At Oxford Royale Academy, I took a course in public speaking. Our instructor was incredibly prepared and engaging. We studied TED talks and read ancient speeches i.e. Mark Anthony's eulogy for Julius Caesar. In side sessions, we practiced vocal exercises and practiced presenting speeches/pitches/seminars to different audiences.

ORA students come from all over the world. Over the course of two weeks, I made many friends (from other courses as well) and learned much from them.

ORA plans a variety of activities outside of classes. We ate at Le Manoir, played real tennis, tried our hands at croquet, stared at Raphael's drawings in the Ashmolean, and wandered around Blenheim Palace.

What would you improve about this program?
Extend the program by another week!

ORA

This summer course was my first one and it was a great first experience. I would definetely recommend it as you don't only leaner about the courses you chose, but learn how to socialise. I learnt a lot in two weeks about my chosen courses. It is a great opportunity to experiment with new things, and there are plenty of activities to help do this. The whole course was organised very well, and was a lot of fun! The campus is beautiful as well and Oxford itself is a picturesque place; you will feel at home immediately.
