Teaching in Spain with RVF International

RVF International is a fantastic program! I'd been searching for way to teach English abroad and when I found this program, I knew it would be the best fit for me. The constant support and resources they provided for me before and during my time in Spain was so helpful, I couldn't have done this without the program. My first year was amazing and now I'm currently in my 2nd, for everyone wanting to teach in Spain, I 100% recommend this program!. Visa app assistance, program app, housing guides, etc.

Life in Madrid

Hello and Hola,

My name is Lucas and I am originally from New Jersey, United States. Currently, I am an auxiliary of English in Madrid, Spain. The transition of coming from America and settling into Spain has been very easy for me and I have to give a big thanks to RVF International for their endless help and constant support. Harrison and the rest of the RVF team has been with me step by step throughout my move to Madrid and without them, I don't know where I would be. Living in Madrid has been extremely satisfying for me and this is for many reasons. The people, the traditions, the food, the architecture, the history, and so on. I am so happy I am here and thank you again to RVF International for making my dreams a reality.

10/10 definitely would Recommend

I had/am having the most amazing experience working with RVF International. From the very first Skype call, I felt like they truly cared about me. I had a couple other Skype interviews with other companies before RVF and those interviews just felt so impersonal. I felt like just another number for those companies. With RVF, they really showed their compassion for my wants, and they understood and helped resolve all of my doubts. There is a lot of paperwork for the teaching position, but RVF gave me a checklist for everything I needed, which really made this difficult process simple and totally doable. Without RVF during this process, I would have been extremely overwhelmed. They provided clear and concise instructions on how to fill everything out, which was EXTREMELY helpful for a lot of the paperwork was in Spanish. If I had a question about any of the paperwork or anything at all, that was resolved by a simple email to RVF and a super quick response. They were always there at a drop of a hat to answer any and all of my questions and to make sure I had everything I needed. The support was felt 100% along this whole journey of getting ready for Spain, coming to Spain, and being in Spain. I am eternally grateful for finding this compassionate company for they not only gave me so much knowledge and insight about life in Spain but they made the whole process of coming here very stress-free. 10/10 recommend for anyone looking to teach English in Spain!!

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
If you have a certain place in mind that you would like to live, try your hardest to get your application in as soon as possible. Placement is based on a first-come-first-serve basis!

If You are Thinking of Doing it, Do it.

If you are thinking about moving to Spain, if you are thinking about getting into education, do not hesitate, you already know you want to. This is a great company to do it with as well. I was provided with more than enough information every step of the way, if I had a question it was answered either before I could ask it or immediately after. These people are prepared are care and want to help.
Spain as a country is a wonderful place to live in. The people are cool, collected, and great to be around. I am loving my time in a new country, I am so lucky to get to be apart of the life and culture as opposed to a passing tourist, and my time in the classroom is also the best. The students are great and make the job the absolute best. Work is fun.

What was the most unfamiliar thing you ate?
"When in rome," right? I try not to say no to new experiences and foods, but pig kidneys is something I will be saying no to again.

RVF International

I have had a great experience with RVF International and am currently working as an English assistant in a school in Spain. Harrison Fowler and his team made what should have been a very difficult process very simple. Over the better part of a year, from the initial application stage and into my time in Spain, RVF International has given me invaluable and timely support. With their guidance, potentially difficult things like paperwork and appointments were a breeze. RVF International knows exactly what they´re doing and when everything needs to be completed. They are also very quick to respond to any questions or help with any issues that arise. I would wholeheartedly recommend RVF International to anyone who wants to travel to Spain and experience a different culture over a longer period of time than a normal tourist visa allows. I thought it would be nearly impossible to work out visa issues, but with RVF International, everything was a breeze. Thanks to Harrison, I´m now living in Madrid and experiencing things I never dreamed of.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
About a month before I traveled from the United States to Spain, I got really nervous about the whole experience and had some serious doubts. I reached out to Harrison at RVF International, and even though he was on vacation, he made time to talk to me and help me out. He helped ease my nerves and get me back in the right frame of mind. I´m very grateful to him for this.

Great Support!

RVF International was reliable and very informative. Harrison was always quick to help me with the ins and outs of the NALCA Program and Spanish culture. I went to Spain feeling very prepared, and it made the getting ready process much less stressful. In Spain, I ran into many problems, but Harrison did Skype calls with me and was quick to email back to help me with everything. The information was helpful, and resources and suggestions were provided when he didn't have answers. I felt like a part of a team, and it was nice knowing someone had my back! I'm very thankful I had the support of RVF International and don't know how I'd make it here without their assistance. It's definitely worth the money because you will be so much more prepared and supported!

Shaniya's RVF Experience

Going through RVF for the "North American language and culture assistants program" in Spain was the absolute best decision I ever made. In all honesty the actual program itself is very disorganized and it can be an absolute nightmare to get through Spanish bureaucracy; but that's where RVF comes it. Going through RVF took away the headache of the disorganization and organized virtually everything for me. Harrison from RVF made the entire process from filling out my application to moving into my home in Spain a breeze. I was assisted with the application process, the visa process, plans for the move to my city, and much advice on getting settled in such as how to get my phone to work and setting up my WiFi in the house. RVF goes above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need and more to successfully make the move and start your position.

What would you improve about this program?
On RVF's end everything is actually perfect in my opinion. It is extremely organized, always responsive, and personal. I couldn't have asked for more. However, I wish the actually program here in Spain was a little more organized. This is due to no part of RVF though, I want to make that clear.

Hello Jeremy, Thank you for your question! Housing is independent and is not included in the program. It's very exciting to embark on this sort of Teach Abroad adventure with family! Currently at RVF International, we don't handle the visa process or transition process for family members. Hello Richard, Thank you for your question! You will earn anywhere between €700 EUR to €1000 EUR depending on where in Spain you'll be teaching as your monthly salary will be relative to the standard cost of living of where you'll be teaching. Doesn't sound like much? Don't worry, it is! Spain is one of the least expensive countries in all of Western Europe to live in, and you'll earn more than...
