The TEFL course has been a wonderful experience. I chose Bangkok for the course for the experience in teaching children with English as their second language just so I could understand the depth or the level of English language, spoken in countries that have English as there second language. The course itself offers a variety of methods and teaching practices in the real schools out here for a first hand experience in teaching English. This is real.
This course has actually taught me a lot, personal growth is one and of course not to forget the confidence level that has increased in me. June our Trainer who has has worked really hard in particular has taught and given me /us enough ideas and tools to incorporate it in our teaching practices . Thank you ACT!! I have already started recommending it to everyone i know who s interested in teaching and learning.

This course was amazing. I really had an amazing time at this course I learned so much from this amazing teachers and mentors. It showed me different tools and materials to use in classrooms also how to teach and touch peoples life to the best of my abilities. I really enjoyed doing this amazing course. It truly changed my life. The memories I took from this course is simply amazing. This course brought out the best of me.

What would you improve about this program?

There is no improvements necessary.

Words cannot describe the overall experience with ACT and the TEFL Bangkok program. With the assistance of Pak and June, I am confident that I will be an excellent TEFL teacher. The instruction was spot on, as it provided me with all of the necessary tools to be an effective TEFL teacher. Everyday, June was prepared to challenge us and help us through some of the challenges that we faced as budding TEFL teachers. Pak was also very supportive in the classroom as well as making our overall Bangkok experience one that I will always cherish. The TEFL program is not easy, but with the most amazing support system it is one that I would highly recommend to anyone who is looking to change their own life and impact the lives of all level of learners. I will forever be grateful for this program and the experience.

What would you improve about this program?

The only improvement I would suggest, would be for the program to never end! It has been such an amazing experience!

This is a wonderful experience of my life to do TEFL course with Asian College of Teachers. This course will make a big positive change in my teaching career. I really enjoyed teaching Thai School. I liked Thai class and children and that was one of the most memorable experience of my life. After completing that course I understand the problem of non native speaker faces during the learning English as a foreign language and second language. I have learned a lot of thing which I do not know but now I have known so many thing about my teaching profession.

What would you improve about this program?

The only improvement I would make to the program would be to have it continue forever. This has been the most rewarding experience of my life!

The course was an enriching experience. I came with a lot of expectations and I was not disappointed. I had a wonderful time here in Thailand both in and outside the class. I was totally consumed by the culture of Thailand. The mode of instruction was very good. Our instructor made the learning experience enjoyable. Going for our practice teaching also made me become aware about teaching in a first hand experience which was very helpful. After completing this course, I can say I am a more confident person . It was an amazing experience getting trained as a EFL/ESL teacher here with ASIAN COLLEGE OF TEACHERS, Bangkok. It was extremely helpful to study here in Bangkok as you get an international exposure. I was nervous and anxious for the first two weeks but when I did my peer teaching as well as my teaching practice I realised that I was made for this. My teachers made me feel positive and confident everyday. They were the main motivation for me who helped me a lot to know everything so well. I had a really pleasant TEFL training experience in Bangkok. We had a wonderful trainer and was given valuable information and activities to further our teaching experience abroad.

I chose to Bangkok TEFL program as I would like to work in Bangkok as a Language instructor after the completion of my certificate program. Bangkok is a vibrant and lively city with wonderful people and places.

Why did you choose this program?

To complete a course like TEFL opens the doors to being able to teach, travel and touch lives by giving back to the community. Teaching English to people in Thailand gives them the opportunity to use it to better themselves and the careers they end up deciding on doing one day. It will also allow you to travel in Thailand and also other neighboring Asian countries.

What did your program provider assist you with, and what did you have to organize on your own?

ACT took care of everything. The information received from ACT was clear and direct and throughout the 3 week course classes and the documentation used was easy to understand and easy to adapt to. After the course, if you did not want to work with any of the agents or schools they offered, you were able to reach out to schools and do your own interviews without any assistance of ACT.

What is one piece of advice you'd give to someone going on your program?

When they say be open minded, believe it. So many different nationalities in the class, all there for the same reason and wanting to be certified. Work together in your groups that you get in and give your 100% every time. Everything you do in class also count towards your certificate at the end of the day.

What does an average day/week look like as a participant of this program?

Class starts at 9am and goes through to 5pm. Sometimes the class does finish early, depending on how much work gets done during the day.

You have a lunch break and two 15min breaks throughout the day.

It is an intense course and you will be busy everyday; count on homework and out everything else on hold, focus on the course for 3 weeks times goes by very fast. Make friends and enjoy everyday.

Going into your experience abroad, what was your biggest fear, and how did you overcome it? How did your views on the issue change?

I have been traveling for many years now and to different countries with different language, food and culture; so far, Thailand was the best choice I ever made. I would probably say that the language is the biggest challenge and, if you are not fussy, then you won’t have an issue with the food.

The people are friendly and always willing to help. Because of the people, culture and sights to see in Thailand, it changed my perspective on wanting to be here to love being here.

If I get to Thailand and realize I made the biggest mistake of my life, what do I do?

Stick it out. Fear always comes in our way because we are out of our comfort zone; at the end, it will be so much more rewarding than if you would have given up and taken the easy way out. You will regret it for the rest of your life if you don’t stay, finish the course and spend some time in Thailand.
