The TEFL course was an awesome experience . I'm so glad i enrolled for the course . The in class TEFL course is a must . The exposure that you get with doing Tefl in class is huge . Everything you learn in class you use as a teacher . I would say the TEFL course is a must if you want to teach in thailand . The teaching techniques you learn helps you with preparation in class . Overall great support system and help provided .

What would you improve about this program?

I think the course should be a bit longer as the amount of information that are discussed in the class are alot and the time period for everything is only 3 weeks .

I was into teaching Primary till A levels in a renowned school in Mumbai but here teaching trainees of an institute plus children of primary it was a difficult task because to teach English language to those who don't know. But, being a teacher still it took me some time to understand their own language and their worries in understanding English and I introduced voice modulation techniques to get their sound of L, R , V and Ch right. In a short time too if my learners are able to learn 5 words correctly I have achieved my goal as a teacher and truly happy too to know my learners can sustain the given knowledge for long time.

What would you improve about this program?

If the training is in Bangkok I would prefer Ms. Pak as my trainer because she is a local and knows the requirements, wants and needs of her people.

so much fun amazing time we had super fun made new friends from different countries 21 days was very special to me learnt lot of things helped me to be better person . Thailand has been amazing we had different experience . kuhu and pak supported us a lot we had lot of fun the teaching practice gave us lot of confidence so much i learnt more in last week. The first few days was easy later got lil hectic but last week was so much fun

The course is very compact. You must do all technical materials on your own. This course is mainly focused on class experience and lessons for teaching. It was great meeting new people and getting classroom experience. The instructor was awesome and helped a lot to get us ready for the Thai culture. I made some good friends who I hope to keep in touch with. I was able to apply and get a few job offers.

What would you improve about this program?

More instruction, some things were very vague. More book instruction.

Elephant experience

I am very glad to be a part of the ACT family . Its has been an amazing experience learning all the techniques and methods of teaching and applying them in real life. Being exposed to colleagues from various parts of the world was a great experience and i learnt alot from my mentor and peers. I would definitely recommend people to get their license to teach if they want to stand out and make a difference in not only their’s but also the world. My experience here was fruitful and i definitely learnt more about myself and I feel like i am ready to go out there and make a difference! Thanks!

What would you improve about this program?

I think more lesson plans to work on individually and present them would boost our conditioning but nevertheless peer teaching did help.

Teaching experience

The course is intense, but if you throw yourself all into it. trust me, you could learn a lot from the Trainer. I like our Trainer- Kuhu. Because she helped me a lot and she made the lesson easy to understand and use. Pak also very helpful. no matter what you need or information you want to know like job hunting. she always be there for you. she helped me for job searching and taught me how to make introduction video. Kuhu and Pak. they are amazing. I made many friends here. everyone is so nice and supportive. I have learned many like how to do the lesson plan. how to manage the classroom. and communication with each other.

One of the best experiences I have ever had. I came from the other side of the world, Venezuela, and heard about this course from a friend. I was as nervous as I could be, but as soon as I started the course, I felt completely overwhelmed with how nice and helpful everybody has been. It’s an intensive three week course that makes you wish it was longer. I feel very prepared and even managed to find a job with the help of the teachers, before even finishing the course! Can’t recommend enough!

What would you improve about this program?

Not sure, possibly a little more grammar and less warmers for the first week. Can't really say much, I am absolutely happy with the results.

Our teacher was very friendly and always ready to help. It was a great experience doing in class training, meeting and teaching Thai students of different levels of English. Learning how to adapt your teaching for the level of english that students of a foreign language can produce.
Support for job placement was very little and could not get any clear answers from the program manager was but she seemed to become a bit more friendly near to the end of the course and hope it will improve and do what is promised in the package that is advertised and sold to clients.

What would you improve about this program?

Assist all people joi ing the course for placement equally and not focus on a select few.

I had a wonderful experience on this course. The trainer was amazing and very helpful. I have learned alot.
The inclass training was the best part, it helped me understand the needs the students might have and how to improvise in every situation. Overall my experience has been wonderful.
I hope this course will bring lots of work opportunities for me and that I am able to make a success of this journey. I would recommend it to more people. Hopefully I get a job after this.

Why did you choose this program?

To complete a course like TEFL opens the doors to being able to teach, travel and touch lives by giving back to the community. Teaching English to people in Thailand gives them the opportunity to use it to better themselves and the careers they end up deciding on doing one day. It will also allow you to travel in Thailand and also other neighboring Asian countries.

What did your program provider assist you with, and what did you have to organize on your own?

ACT took care of everything. The information received from ACT was clear and direct and throughout the 3 week course classes and the documentation used was easy to understand and easy to adapt to. After the course, if you did not want to work with any of the agents or schools they offered, you were able to reach out to schools and do your own interviews without any assistance of ACT.

What is one piece of advice you'd give to someone going on your program?

When they say be open minded, believe it. So many different nationalities in the class, all there for the same reason and wanting to be certified. Work together in your groups that you get in and give your 100% every time. Everything you do in class also count towards your certificate at the end of the day.

What does an average day/week look like as a participant of this program?

Class starts at 9am and goes through to 5pm. Sometimes the class does finish early, depending on how much work gets done during the day.

You have a lunch break and two 15min breaks throughout the day.

It is an intense course and you will be busy everyday; count on homework and out everything else on hold, focus on the course for 3 weeks times goes by very fast. Make friends and enjoy everyday.

Going into your experience abroad, what was your biggest fear, and how did you overcome it? How did your views on the issue change?

I have been traveling for many years now and to different countries with different language, food and culture; so far, Thailand was the best choice I ever made. I would probably say that the language is the biggest challenge and, if you are not fussy, then you won’t have an issue with the food.

The people are friendly and always willing to help. Because of the people, culture and sights to see in Thailand, it changed my perspective on wanting to be here to love being here.

If I get to Thailand and realize I made the biggest mistake of my life, what do I do?

Stick it out. Fear always comes in our way because we are out of our comfort zone; at the end, it will be so much more rewarding than if you would have given up and taken the easy way out. You will regret it for the rest of your life if you don’t stay, finish the course and spend some time in Thailand.
