The Temple Schools programme was fantastic. I loved being immersed in a non-tourist area of Bangkok. My school went above and beyond to ensure I felt happy and safe. I was fortunate to be placed in an amazing school that looked after me and showed me the real Bangkok. The accommodation was great and the food provided by my school was delicious. I felt that the actual teaching course did not support my teaching so I would recommend having a little experience before going on the trip. I enjoyed travelling at the weekends and learning how to navigate Thai transport. I travelled in land and out to islands. It was straightforward and the school I was based at gave me lots of recommendations.

Company were great at organising the programme and trips during the programme aswell.
The school was true to what had been described by the company and was very rural but you were provided with all the basics required such as a place to sleep, eat and a couple of shops in the village.
Communication between coordinators and participants was good and easy to reach if we ever needed them.
Teaching in classrooms was basic as the children's level of English was quite basic.

This experience was lovely and one of a kind. It gave me a whole new perspective on teaching and different cultures. We were able to get right into teaching lessons and assemblies and events which allowed learn so much especially for a short course like this one. The children’s desire to learn and understand how to adapt lessons for wide range of levels, helped me develop my skills as a teacher and made this heartwarming experience.
There were chances to explore the area, try new food and living with the host made this much easier.

I was able to work with Kids Camp America as a volunteer teacher, outside of my home country, for very little cost and with little experience. It was a really rewarding experience to work with kids and see my effort help them learn English. Now it looks great on my CV. I was lucky enough to get to stay in one of the most beautiful nature reserves in Germany, surrounded by a stunning lake and forested mountains. I worked with people I hadn't met before but who became some great friends. The whole experience was supported by Gotoco, they always kept me in the loop and were in communication to make sure we were always safe and making the most of the experience.

I had an unforgettable time in Thailand volunteering as a kindergarten and primary school teacher. Gotoco supported me every step of the way, from booking my flights to providing a detailed guide on what to pack for my journey. They even arranged transportation to the hotel they booked for us in Bangkok. Before heading to the rural school, the other participants and I had a few days to explore Bangkok, staying in clean, safe accommodation with three meals provided each day.

The hosts and teachers at the school were incredibly kind, friendly, and supportive. They helped us with everything, from adjusting to the local food to just needing some time off. The entire experience was truly amazing. I got to experience Thai culture by visiting temples, eating traditional food, connecting with the locals, and exploring breathtaking waterfalls. I even played football with the kids after school and got a tattoo from the school coach, who also happens to be a barber and tattoo artist!

I cannot recommend this experience enough. On the last day, I was so emotional, tears were streaming down my face as the principal gave a speech and presented gifts from the teachers and students. My insurance was covered, and after the program ended, I even had the chance to stay for an additional week to do some solo traveling. Gotoco even payed for my SIM card and internet which I used for the entire month.

I'm also thrilled to be earning my TESOL certificate as an English teacher. This experience has taught me resilience, acceptance, and truly humbled me, it’s something I will carry with me for the rest of my life

My time participating in this program was profoundly enriching and transformative. Balancing the completion of my TEFL certification with teaching English in rural Thailand allowed me to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical setting while deeply immersing myself in a vibrant new culture. The experience was highlighted by the warm hospitality of my host, who integrated me into the local community, and the enthusiastic engagement of the students, whose progress fuelled my passion for education. This opportunity not only enhanced my teaching skills through real classroom challenges but also improved my adaptability and communication abilities. I highly recommend this program to anyone looking to grow as an educator while exploring a fascinating new culture.

China was absolutely amazing and I have to go back! Gotoco is a great way to travel to somewhere. It feels so much safer, you have support while having trips exploring as well as work experience abroad.

I was in a wonderful city where the architecture was super ancient looking. There were tons of amazing street food and restaurants.
I loved being so close to nature as well! I loved hiking in the mountainous area outside of work. Even work was very based in nature which made it so much more enjoyable and the work was very fun.

During the weekdays, I had the privilege of teaching at a local school. The experience was incredibly rewarding. The students, eager and enthusiastic, brought their own unique energy to the classroom. Their curiosity and dedication made teaching a joy and a privilege. The school's staff were welcoming and supportive, helping me integrate smoothly into the local education system. I found that teaching in Thailand was not just about imparting knowledge but also about learning from the students and immersing myself in their vibrant culture. The challenges I faced in the classroom only made the experience more fulfilling.
Overall the program has provided heavy exposure that would not have been feasible elsewhere and would recommended it to everyone - the teaching whilst traveling element was definitely a once in a lifetime experience!
