World TESOL Academy 120HourTESOL Certificate- Useful, Practical and Concise

I loved that the content was prepared with actual classroom usage in mind- it wasn't filled with technical stuff that I wouldn't use in class. I enjoyed the explanations. They were brief and precise. I wish there were less space for 'Are you good at English' stuff and more space for 'Are you good at teaching a specific English skill' stuff. Quizzes were calculated with percentages, and I was not too fond of that. It could've had a more straightforward system. The website is a little slow, and sometimes it takes a while to move from one page to another. Overall, I found it helpful, and I enjoyed it, but I can also make a case for improvement in some areas like the ones I mentioned.

Pros
  • Good content
  • Clear explanations
  • Easily understandable questions
Cons
  • Slow website
  • Calculations of quizzes are weird
  • Too much time spent on English proficiency

The Course Matters

This is a 120-hour course and yet it did not feel like so. It wasn't a burden, it wasn't overly heavy and the pace was within my control. Navigating through the website was straightforward, and very efficient. The content covered was extremely relevant. It covered all the bases, highlighted areas that are needed by language learners the most and, for someone who has been teaching a non-language subject for a couple of years now, brought back my prior knowledge in English teaching, ready for use.

Pros
  • very manageable (bite-sized) content
  • self paced
  • relevant content
Cons
  • lenient with time so I delayed taking the final exam

Ilene Review

I had the privilege of experiencing the course content for teaching English, and it's not an exaggeration to say that I absolutely loved it! This course is a gem for anyone passionate about sharing the beauty of the English language with others, and here's why it left such a lasting impression on me.

The first thing that struck me was the course's depth. It covers every aspect of English language teaching, from the fundamentals of grammar and vocabulary to advanced techniques. No stone is left unturned, and every module is meticulously designed to ensure comprehensive learning. What truly stands out is that the course equips you with practical skills and strategies that are immediately applicable in a classroom setting. Whether it's creating engaging lesson plans, managing diverse classrooms, or assessing student progress effectively, the course offers practical solutions that make a real difference in teaching. The inclusion of diverse teaching methodologies is another highlight. It's not a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, the course introduces you to various techniques, allowing you to tailor your teaching style to the specific needs of your students. The emphasis on communicative language teaching and task-based learning, for instance, completely transformed my approach to language education. The course's use of technology is refreshing. In today's digital age, it's crucial to integrate technology into teaching, and this course does it seamlessly. The insights on using language learning software, online resources, and digital tools were invaluable in enhancing my teaching methods.Cultural sensitivity is given the attention it deserves. It reminds you that teaching English isn't just about language; it's about fostering a culturally inclusive environment. This course fosters empathy and understanding, which are indispensable qualities for an effective English teacher. Finally, the course's community aspect is heartwarming it is positive and encourages growth and collaboration.

Pros
  • Clear
  • Tech Friendly
  • Inclusive
Cons
  • More visuals
  • More videos
  • More chances to participate or write notes digitally

I got lots of knowledge and methods of how to teach my students more effectively and actively. That's an incredible.

It's a marvellous training. I could learn many things from this training. I strongly believe that I can do many things for my students from this training. Actually I didn't expect much but I knew that I could have many things I could get.So I learnt each and every lessons carefully and thoroughly. There are many useful methods we can use in real life class and I wonder that I know some methods when I take this course. But it makes my professional teaching better and really effective. So, I would lile to say thank you very much to make me more excellent teacher.

Pros
  • Teaching methodologies
  • Some activities
  • How to make a better lesson plan
Cons
  • Suggest to make live meeting
  • Different questions would be more catch up than MCQ
  • That's all

Great program

I liked the diversity of topics the program deals with. Most of the content was just a wake-up call but there was also big part that was a discovery and I was interested to learn.
there are plenty of examples of exercises you can put in practice with your students. Even if I would have liked even more real life examples, this is a very personal opinion.
Also every subject is well described, and has a good organisation, which makes the learning gradual (starting with the most basic to know about teaching, to the most complex, abstract)

Pros
  • well structured
  • good theory
Cons
  • would have preferred more real life examples, more diversity of possible exercises for the students
