They try their best to accommodate, help, and socialize as much as they can. Obviously, they can’t accommodate for everything, but they try their best to find good living conditions. Mine were pretty good, it was just the people that were living with me that I sometimes wouldn’t see eye-to-eye with, which isn’t their fault. The activities were engaging and fun, and the various workshops they held were also very intriguing and fun. The city was a vibe and the employees were very helpful, even with problems they didn’t necessarily have to concern themselves with.

Spending 8 weeks in New York through Beyond Academy was such a valuable experience for me. The internship placement was well-suited to my interests, and the team I worked with was welcoming and made sure I learned a lot during my time there.

I stayed in Brooklyn and met so many people from different backgrounds, and the weekly activities that Beyond organised gave us opportunities to explore NYC together. This program gave me both professional growth and personal memories I’ll never forget. I would recommend it to anyone looking for an exciting and supportive internship abroad.

I found Beyond Academy to be a super helpful experience for both my social life and career. Through my internship, I have a better idea of what I want to do and decided on the industry I’d pursue. Additionally, I met many great, unique people that taught me a lot about ambition and work-life balance. However, the program was sloppy and unorganized at times. In the beginning, I was urged to pay a lot of money before I met with the instructor, which I didn’t feel comfortable with. While I got lucky with my internship, my friends got internships where they didn’t really do anything all day, and one of them had to go to an apartment for her office. I think putting in more effort to screen companies as well as trying to get better internships would go a long way. Despite the shortcomings, I want to stress that the program was a great learning opportunity, and I feel more ambitious and self-sufficient as a result.

I had a great experience doing a law internship with beyond academy in New York. The communication with the program coordinators was great and all the events they organized were a lot of fun! The coordinators were so nice and getting to do the events enhanced my experience in New York. The company that I was placed on was a great work environment and I’m glad to have had the experience to work in a law office. I really loved living in New York as there was so much to see and do. I’d love to do another internship again in New York one day!

I heard once before that you have to experience moving to a high density area for a prolonged period of time at least once in your life, especially in your early twenties. I didn't think much of it at first but now I would say the exact same thing. You learn so much about yourself and you meet such interesting people when you're in a foreign place. For me, Beyond Academy provides a cushion to make experiences like these less daunting with their amazing team and thorough background checks on their partner companies (I fell in love with mine <3). They make you feel taken care of and they make sure that you make the most out of your program.

I had a fantastic time in NYC. The Beyond Academy staff were very attentive and are always free to help with anything and everything. The people of New York are very friendly and helpful too, and I've eaten some of the best pizza and sandwiches I've ever had.
Some of my favourite events included the trip to the Statue of Liberty, and walking the Brooklyn Bridge, but I also enjoyed the less touristy trips where we went off the beaten path to comedy shows and local food favourites.

I'm sad to go home, but I'll always feel like I'm home again should I ever be fortunate enough to return.

My experience of being an intern and exploring New York has been greatly improved with the resources Beyond has provided. My coordinators have been extremely helpful and accommodating with any issues that I had.

Each event was something to look forward to and I found myself being more confident navigating the city thanks to their events and recommendations.

I've always wanted to visit and and experience life in New York and I can safely say that Beyond Academy have more than helped me see the best that the city has to offer.
