I was matched with the perfect company and felt like I gained real career experience and connections. I was able to network, contribute ideas, connect with clients, and feel like a real team player. I was truly valued for my contributions and not just seen as inexperienced and given menial tasks.

As for Beyond Academy, they are with you every step of the way. Living in Tokyo is not easy, but the supportive coordinators are easy to reach out to if you have any questions from before you arrive and all throughout your internship. They also have fun social events for all interns a couple of times a week, so you do not have to worry about trying too much to look for others to spend time with. They also love hearing what kind of activities and events interns are interested in, so it's very easy to collaborate on having fun experiences together in Tokyo. The possibilities are infinite!

This was an extremely valuable experience! Having never been out of the country before, I find that this program was a good opportunity to see what it’d be like because at least you aren’t completely on your own and are able to ask for help when needed. Including the several opportunities you’ll have to make friends with those in your internship or accommodation! There will never be a boring moment because you’ll either be at your internship or you’ll be at one of the many events that Beyond has.

This experience was a lot of fun. The interview process and finding an internship was smooth and the support beyond academy offers is professional. The work I did felt meaningful, and I got along with my coworkers wonderfully. The coordinators from beyond were next level and always were helpful and made the experience that much more fun and stress free. Tokyo Japan was a beautiful location, and living in Japan was an absolute pleasure! I would absolutely recommend this experience to other travelers or students!

I loved this program so much more than I ever could have imagined! I think that going through a program like Beyond was a good way for me to feel out a place I’ve always wanted to visit but have never gotten the chance. I got to meet so many new people from so many different places, and definitely had connections that will last a lifetime! I also loved the company I was working for! I worked as a graphic designer/ marketer for a fashion technology company, which is something I never would have thought of doing. I would highly recommend the program if you have the funds to do so!

Very supportive staff throughout my time. Really enjoyed my internship and the extra activities/events they would put on. Made a few friends in the programme and within my internship. This helped me grow and realise a few things about myself, it has given me motivation to explore further in my field of interest. The coordinators in Beyond academy really try their best to help and support you. I would recommend doing an internship with them in Tokyo, you get a mixture between what work life is but also all the fun and interesting things that there are to do in Tokyo.

I did a 3 month internship as a UI/UX designer. I feel like there's not much online about beyond academy. It is a legit company and I didn't realized they do so many activities while you're there. The accommodation was so clean and in a really good area in Japan. I know some people didn't have great placements but if you go into the interviews unafraid to say no you should find an internship you like! Thats what I did and it was an unforgettable experience. I definitely think it was worth the money.

On top of that, not only was I able to get some work experience in my field of choice, I also got to participate in fun events every week and meet other interns! Living and working in Tokyo was something I’ve been wanting to do for a while and it definitely exceeded my expectations. Thanks to Beyond Academy my transition was very smooth. They arranged comfortable accommodations, offered cultural guidance, and hosted events that allowed me to meet my now very close friends and explore the city together. The friends I’ve met here have become very important people in my life and I never felt lost or alone, as there was always someone available to help.

My host company trusted me with real responsibilities, and encouraged me to contribute my ideas, while also not putting too much pressure on me. Through this internship, I gained practical experience and improved my professional skills. It’s an experience that has broadened my perspective and made me more confident as a young professional.

Beyond Academy also organized fun activities and cultural excursions for every week that made the overall program feel well-rounded and thoughtfully designed. Other than the set activities, the events always vary, making every week different and exciting. Some of my favorite memories were the Tea Ceremony in Kimonos, TeamLabs and an all you can eat cafe!
