I recently completed the Level 5 TEFL course (168 hours) with The TEFL Academy, and I must say it was an excellent and very rewarding learning experience. Coming into the course without any formal teaching experience, I was initially nervous, but the structure and quality of the programme quickly gave me confidence.
Content:
The course content was well-structured, clear, and highly practical. It covered everything from grammar, lesson planning, and classroom management to essential teaching techniques like eliciting and questioning. I particularly enjoyed how the course balanced theory with practical strategies that I could immediately apply in my classroom. Each module built logically on the previous one, making it easy to follow and digest. Reflective learning exercises also helped me identify my strengths and areas to improve, which was invaluable for my professional growth.
Engagement:
The course was engaging and kept me motivated throughout. I enjoyed the interactive activities and the way tasks were designed to simulate real teaching scenarios. Even though it was an online programme, I felt challenged and involved in every part of the learning process. Applying what I learned directly in my classroom made the learning experience even more exciting and fun.
Support:
The tutors were amazing and always available to answer questions or provide guidance. Their feedback on assignments was constructive, detailed, and encouraging, which really helped me grow as a teacher. I appreciated how approachable and supportive the team was; it made a big difference, especially when balancing study with work commitments.
Platform:
The online platform was user-friendly, intuitive, and made studying at my own pace very convenient. I could log in anytime and continue exactly where I left off, which worked perfectly with my busy schedule. The downloadable resources and examples were easy to access and made the learning practical rather than just theoretical.
Value:
I feel the course was excellent value for money. In a relatively short period of time, I gained a recognised Level 5 TEFL qualification, practical teaching skills, and the confidence to teach English effectively. I still can’t believe how much I learned and achieved in such a short timeframe. For anyone looking to grow as a teacher, this programme is worth every cent.
Overall, I would highly recommend The TEFL Academy to anyone seeking a recognised TEFL qualification. Whether you have prior teaching experience or are starting from scratch, the course equips you with the knowledge, practical skills, and confidence needed to teach English anywhere in the world. It has truly been a life changing experience for me, and I am very grateful for the support, resources, and guidance provided throughout the programme.
What was your funniest moment?
My Funniest or Most Enjoyable Moment During the TEFL Course
Because I was studying and teaching at the same time, my fun moments didn’t happen in one single place, they were mixed between the course and my classroom. Most of the time, I would learn a new skill, like eliciting or questioning techniques, and then try it out immediately with my learners at school. The fun part for me was seeing their reactions, especially when I used something I had literally learned the night before. Sometimes the students would get so excited or surprised that they would participate more than usual, and that made the whole experience enjoyable.
So even though I can’t point to one specific “funniest moment,” the whole process of learning and immediately applying it in real-life lessons was special. It made the course feel alive, practical, and truly enjoyable for me.
