UF in South Korea

AIP was truly helpful in helping me adjust to South Korean culture and in understanding my needs when it came to internship matching. I want to give a special shoutout to Herlyn, Nisha, and Tyler for guiding the University of Florida cohort during our time in South Korea. The team I had the pleasure of working with was not only supportive but genuinely caring. They made sure we felt safe, heard, and prepared, making my experience abroad smooth, enriching, and unforgettable. Their response times to test or emergency was near to immediate and relatively quick which I appreciated.

AIP Internship Program

This internship program was perfect. I learned a lot both culturally and business related while also having fun and exploring Seoul. My AIP representative Ted helped me secure my placement. And Herlyn and Nisha helped get myself and my peers adjusted once we arrived in Seoul. They were all so helpful and kind throughout the entire process, and by the end of the program me and many others consider them our friends and not just company reps. This program is great if you want to meet people, try new things while also getting internship experience in your field!

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
The most nerve-racking moment would have to be navigating through the language barrier. Many people speak English or understand some words in South Korea. However, there have been multiple times where the language barrier made it difficult to communicate. Luckily there are multiple translation apps that work really well. I recommend Papago and Google translate!
Pros
  • Job experience
  • Great food
  • Fun experiences
Cons
  • Commute to work
  • Language barrier
  • Cultural barrier

My dream of studying abroad came true!

Best 6 months of my life! Truly would recommend.

I went to Seoul, South Korea, for my mandatory internship. I decided to do it abroad. I am an architecture student. Not knowing exactly where to start searching for an internship, I sought help from AIP. They helped me with everything!

Planning the accommodation, the best time to book flight tickets, transportation after arriving, and all about getting your visa! That's probably the most helpful thing out of all, because I had never requested such a document before... If you're unsure where to start, like me, then AIP can be of great help.

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
Making it last longer!

Choosing AIP for my internship in South Korea was the best choice

AIP helped me a lot before and during my internship in South Korea. For me this was my first time abroad and I would not have taken on that adventure all on my own, so I was really glad to have found AIP to support me throughout the whole process. Finding an internship, accommodation and navigating all the paperwork that goes into an internship abroad went incredibly smoothly and I felt very safe, knowing I could always reach out to the AIP Team if I had any concern whatsoever. Thank you for making this adventure possible for me!

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Go into it relaxed and with an open mind and know that AIP always has your back.
Pros
  • Meeting new people
  • Stepping out of my comfort zone

Really great experience!

I've had a great experience using AIP to find an internship in Singapore. As part of my university course I got to spend 4 months doing an internship overseas, and I chose AIP to help with that. I knew I wanted to do an internship in Asia but I wasn't sure how to go about it on my own, and using AIP really took off a lot of the stress that I would have had if I had had to find an internship by my self. They were very attentive and kept in regular contact. I really liked that they put me in touch with the other AIP interns in Singapore, we met up a couple of times which was really nice. So yep It's been really great and I would definitely recommend using them.

What was the most surprising thing you saw or did?
I saw lots of new animals, some I had seen before but only in Zoos, here I saw them wild. I made friends with a tiny baby Praying Mantis, A baby mourning Gecko invited its self into my room (still not sure how it made it up there, my room is on the 10th floor), and I saw some wild monkeys lazing just out side the nature reserve that I had been hiking round for the past 2 hours searching for them.
Pros
  • Getting to use and learn new skills in a workplace environment.
  • Meeting fellow interns.
  • Getting to explore a new country.
Cons
  • For the last month of my internship it was just me and my boss in the office as the other interns had left. So I got a bit lonely
  • Singapore isn't the most interesting of cities, good for shopping but not much else.
  • Some places only take a local payment system, that you can only get if you are a permanent resident, so that's a little annoying.

Escaplan, a company where hard work meets daily fun

The people I worked with at Escaplan made this experience unique. If I compare myself the fiorst day I walked in to the person I am now, I would say that there has been a great improvement. The fact that we all come from different backgrounds but still understand each other and work as 1 team is one of the most beautiful characteristics I discovered during my internship. Before I started this internship I wanted to work with a diverse team and now I know that it is definitely something I feel good about.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
I would definitely go with the flow and take my time to adjust. This experience is a life changing experience but a challenge at the same time. Being far away from your family in a foreign culture where English is not their first language is hard but not impossible. The people at the company are always there to guide you during your internship but also with your challenges outside the office. Once you make that good connection with someone that you feel you can trust, it becomes a new experience.
Pros
  • Quick responses
  • Never leave you in the dark, always update you
  • they take care of you even after you get accepted into a company
Cons
  • No cons

Great experience working abroad in Singapore!

Great program!! Made my dream come true to complete an internship in Singapore in my preferred field of work Aerospace Engineering and supported me along the way, from finding an interview till the signing of the contract. Even after that they were keen to help regarding the preparations for the work abroad and also took care of me during the internship by frequently asking about my status! So glad to have found them while looking for working abroad, they made my life so much easier. Really nice and friendly people as well, so 5 stars deserved for sure!

Interning in South Korea

Finding an internship in a foreign country can be so difficult. However, I stumbled AIP and they seemed promising. I'm glad I decided to give it a shot, as they were able to help me out so I could go to South Korea and intern there, which is something I've always wanted. I think it would've been much harder by myself, so them having connections to different companies was just what I needed. I definitely recommend them if you feel like it may be hard to find an internship by yourself. They are very friendly and nice and will do their best to help you out and get you placed! :)

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Enjoy it to the fullest and don't be afraid to try new things. Be open minded and enjoy the ride!
Pros
  • Food, Scenery, Transportation, Affordable

Grateful for an amazing journey with AIP

My internship experience in Thailand with AIP was nothing short of amazing. From the very beginning, the entire process was smooth and well-organized, making it easy to focus on gaining valuable experience. The AIP team was always friendly, supportive, and ready to help whenever I had questions. What stood out the most was the sense of community — I felt like I became part of a vibrant international network of interns and professionals. I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity and highly recommend AIP to anyone looking for an enriching and memorable internship experience.

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
I would have simply stayed longer if I could. AIP and my company made me feel very welcome and I loved living in Thailand given its people, its food, its culture, and its nature.
Pros
  • Variety of internships
  • Smooth process
  • Supportive and helpful service

AIP is a complete nightmare!

This company is a complete nightmare! They cost me thousands! I have just returned from a 6 week internship in Bangkok with this company. From start to finish, I was provided with no support. Once you pay this company, they don’t bother with you at all! I feel they are a scam!

Airport pick-up means that they book you a taxi, who you need to get into contact with to meet you. There is nobody there on arrival to settle you in.

I was under the impression that I would be living with other interns. This is not the case. The accommodation I had payed for was a hostel, down an alleyway. I was greeted at the ‘reception’ of the hostel by a group of men, all interested in where I was from, and how long I was staying. Although I appreciate the culture is different (I am British), and I stand out in an Asian country, this made me feel uncomfortable. I was followed up to my room by two of the men, who watched me type the code to my room. I don’t blame AIP for this situation, however the way they handled it was appalling. I sent multiple messages to my mentors, clearly upset, they were slow to respond, and didn’t seem to care (yet they were actively responding on the group chat with other interns). I did not feel safe at all staying in this accommodation, and so I left. They didn’t once offer to help me find another place to stay, in fact they didn’t even ask me where I was staying, the whole 6 weeks. They are not ‘there to look out for you’. I was given $200 refund for the hostel, which was a fraction of what I had payed them to provide me with accommodation. I then had to pay for 6 weeks in a hotel out of my own pocket. This company cost me thousands!

On a positive note, the company I was interning for were amazing! The owner had told me that the previous intern had similar issues with AIP, and had also complained about them. My internship company toured me round other hotels, and also tried to reach out to AIP on my behalf, they outdid themselves with kindness, and turned my 6 weeks into an amazing experience. But having been told by my boss that the previous intern also had big issues with AIP, I really think my negative experience was not just an anomaly.

They promise group dinners and activities. I was there for 6 weeks, and didn’t meet a single other intern. I was once given the contact to another intern and told to contact them myself. I was only taken out for dinner once (on my third day there) with my ‘mentors’, after writing a formal email comparing about the lack of support I had been given. I also never got a response from anybody about the email I sent whilst I was out there.

I don’t have a single positive thing to say about AIP. My time in Bangkok turned out to be a great experience, and I would highly recommend interning abroad, but do not do it through AIP!
