Studying....Abroad....

Day to day was great for me personally. The classes were in order and I loved a new adventure to seek for everyday. One of the instructors took us on a field trip to the Morris Center which was completely overwhelming and AWESOME. I learned so much just by getting out of the classroom. I love going on excursions and the scenery is beautiful. Not an opportunity to miss out on.

What would you improve about this program?
more information on the scheduling. I understand that it's hard to keep a schedule for a whole month, but a more descriptive plan would be good.

Scotland Study Abroad

My experiences in Scotland have been amazing and are irreplaceable. The campus grounds are beautiful and have many paths to walk on. I encountered no problems, but wish we could have spent more time with the students at Oatridge. Nevertheless, I still met many great friends and hope I can come back to Scotland soon.

What would you improve about this program?
More time with the students and more time to explore Scotland

If Only We Had Longer

This trip was fantastic, I made so many friends and I don't want to leave!! The day to day schedule was pretty structured and the weekends all had planned outings. Riding and classes were fun and our free evenings we could go into town or do anything we wanted
to do. The Scottish students are very friendly and this trip is the best option!!

What would you improve about this program?
Maybe longer with the students and a longer program in general

Amazing experience, but you won't actually learn very much

Fun, awesome trip in Scotland with really nice people. The first two weeks the students were still around, and we really enjoyed meeting and spending time with them. After it quieted down it was less fun, so my one recommendation would be to adjust the timing of the program so that the Scottish students were still around for the whole thing. But good fun, organized trips and the freedom to go into Edinburgh and do other things during the evening and on the free weekend.

Scotland 2015

I very much enjoyed my trip to Scotland this summer. I would definitely recommend this program for anyone wanting to study abroad or just to simply have a great time! It was well worth the trip. I very much enjoyed the teachers and how friendly and welcoming they are. The country is absolutely beautiful and I'm so glad that I chose this program. Being so interested in equine helped me quickly adapt to the routine here. The riding staff are super helpful and informative. It is lovely to visit a place where everyone is so friendly.

What would you improve about this program?
The cleaning done on the dorms is very minimal and sometimes none is done at all. I would recommend some better management of the dorms and hospitality.

Scotland

I would recommend this program to any horse lovers. For a girl who has never sat in an English saddle until this trip, it is worth it. I learned so much about riding and just equine in general. Fitness class is a lot of work but if you keep up with it, it really isn't so bad. Physiology class is a review of things we've already done in school so it was a nice refresher. The students on campus were so much fun to get to know and hangout with. Going to spend a night out in the city is definitely worth it and all the other gorgeous places you get to see make up for the little social aspect you get. You get out of this trip what you put in. It is a great experience for all!

What would you improve about this program?
I think more riding time could be worked in and maybe more social events that are planned. We were on our own to fend for ourselves a lot. Also the accommodations could have been cleaned and kept up a little more for us. Towels and things were never replaced like we were told unless we went to go ask ourselves.

Equine Study Abroad

We're now in the third week and the program is coming to an end. Riding has been great, we started jumping! This past weekend we went to the Perth Gold Cup Races. It was amazing seeing steeplechasing. This weekend we are able to go wherever we want. Almost done with all the class work so we are soon enough done. It has been pretty great.

What would you improve about this program?
There's a huge lack in communication between the staff and students.

Scotland Equine 2014

There were a lot of good and frustrating experiences. We got to experience the local culture while the actual students were still on the campus, and attend a Scottish dance where we were able to listen to Scottish music and learn Scottish dances. The horse barn was right next to our dorm and we got to see them minimum once every other day. The trips were very cool and you got to see a lot of the country which is beyond gorgeous. The staff (for the most part) were really really nice and friendly. The teachers were nice, and the classes were interesting. And the food was fairly good for cafeteria style, as well as the rooms were pretty big for dorm style.
The downsides are that communication between people in charge is very lacking, which caused a lot of problems for us and was easily the worst part of this experience. The riding was next, although the last week of riding was really fun and fantastic, the previous 3 weeks were frustrating and a lot more like a summer camp for inexperienced riders. They tell us that the location is close to Edinburgh, but its a good 40minute minimum taxi ride that will cost you a lot of money. You are very much on a rural campus with nothing around you, so if you want to go to a town or city be prepared to pay for the transportation. One of our teachers was amazing, while the other was slightly frustrating even though she still tried to be helpful. I had already had most of these classes so most of the content was just review for me. Also, there is little free time, and we were told we would have Sundays off, which wasn't the case, so a lot of little trips I wanted to make myself weren't able to happen which was a bummer.
Overall I feel like this program has a lot of potential and hopefully with all of our feedback can grow in areas that they are lacking in. And although I'm not sure I would recommend this specific program to someone, I am definitely glad I came and enjoyed my time here.
