About Program
This 7-day Therapy Abroad program is designed for graduate students pursuing careers in speech-language pathology, audiology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, clinical psychology, behavioral sciences, and related health professions. Ideal for students seeking hands-on international clinical experience, this program allows participants to work alongside licensed therapists, local professionals, and Therapy Abroad staff in school, community, and medical-based settings. Students may participate in screenings, evaluations, intervention planning, treatment activities, caregiver education, and professional observation while gaining valuable clinical insight and mentorship from SLPs, AuDs, PTs, OTs, and other specialists. Working in small groups, students also help develop and deliver training and education programs for teachers, parents, and community partners. Programs are currently offered in Belize, Turks & Caicos, Thailand, Puerto Rico, and Dominica.
This program offers hands-on clinical experience with supportive mentors in diverse cultural settings, balancing work and adventure. Some found scheduling flexible but occasionally disorganized.
