Fantastic service, Highly recommended

I contacted Teach English Global when I was looking for teaching jobs in China and it was the best decision I could have made.

Dan was extremely friendly and helpful and guided me through the whole process: from finding a suitable job and coaching through different interviews, to the documentation required for the visa, up until the moment I booked my flight.

I had attempted this process before covid and alone and it was a much more stressful experience. But this time, with the guidance from Teach English Global it was significantly smoother.

Do not hesitate to contact them if you are interested in working in China.

Pros
  • Extremely friendly staff
  • Fast and responsive answers
  • Superb treatment

My experience with TEG

When I decided that I wanted to teach English abroad, Dan from Teach English Global was the perfect person to speak to. After I told him about my level of experience and what I was looking for he was quickly able to identify the right sort of teaching positions for me in the cities I had expressed an interest in. He provided excellent guidance and support both before, during and after my move to China. His advice was indispensable and he always made himself available to provide help when I needed it. As a result, I secured a teaching job that I love in a vibrant Chinese city. I am extremely grateful for his support and would recommend his service to anyone who is considering teaching English as a second language abroad.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
My biggest fear in life is of blood tests. In order to overcome the experience of having a blood test as part of my health check before obtaining a residency permit I made sure to focus on my breathing and asking the member of the agency who was accompanying me to keep me distracted with conversation to take my mind off the test.
Pros
  • Experience a fantastic culture
  • Meet new people you would not otherwise meet
  • Travel to lots of new places
Cons
  • Inevitable culture shocks when moving to a new country on the other side of the world
  • Language barrier

A great source of support

I have already recommended Teach English Global to someone in real life, and would do so again. Dan offered a lot of support all through the process: from finding jobs that were right for me, to giving me advice as I prepared to move. I liked that he frequently checked in to see how things were going, and gave tips before every interview or step in the application process. He was very friendly and made me feel like he cared about my success. At one point he was away from home, but still found time to check in. Moving across the globe can seem daunting, and I am sure a lot of people will benefit from this support.

Great experience

I have just begun my journey but it has been brilliant so far! Firstly I was well facilitated by my recruiter Dan who organised my initial interview with the agency in China and who went through all the expectations and kept in touch with me throughout the process to make sure I was clear on the next steps. He was very supportive and brilliant throughout the entire process. SIE, the organisation I work for in China support you with setting everything up when you arrive, navigating some of the complexity with the bureaucracy and also giving you lots of helpful tips about apps and how to live here. They also do teacher training, so you feel prepared to go into a school environment and help prep you for interviews with the school. I like the city I am working in and can’t wait for the adventure to continue when I start at my school.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
You will have the most fun, just try and go with the flow a little and everything will slot into place.
Pros
  • Support before departure
  • Hotel and support with set up costs in China
  • School interviews organised for you
Cons
  • Can’t always have up front information
  • Challenging climate to get a job without teaching experience
  • Slightly higher pressure than teaching in other places

Perfect

I had the pleasure of Dan from Teaching English Global assisting me from start to finish and I can confidently say that he exceeded my expectations in every way. From the initial consultation to securing my agency in China, the process was seamless and stress-free.

Dan is knowledgeable, professional, and incredibly supportive. He guided me through every step of the process, from understanding the job market in China to preparing my application materials. He even assisted with the often daunting visa process, ensuring that I had all the necessary documentation and understood each requirement.

What really stood out to me was his personalised approach. They took the time to understand my career goals and preferences, matching me with schools that aligned with my teaching philosophy and desired location.

Overall, Teaching English Global is an outstanding company for anyone looking to teach English in China. Dan made what could have been a complicated and overwhelming process straightforward and manageable. I highly recommend him to anyone considering taking the leap to teach abroad.

Positive experience

I first came across Teach English Global, on the featured section of TEFL.org, at the beginning of 2024 when I looked at prospects of teaching abroad.

After reading the reviews, I got in contact with Dan.

Over the last four months, Dan has been patient, professional, knowledgeable, responsive, empathetic, but most importantly, a genuine, likeable individual in our conversations and bid to find me employment in China.

Dan is more than just a recruiter; he liaises with the different schools and agencies in China - acting as the representative to ensure things get handled smoothly.

I found Dan’s knowledge of China, and first-hand experience of teaching in Shanghai, helpful - as he understands what’s it like moving abroad and works with you at a gentle pace.

I would thoroughly recommend Dan as a liaison with finding employment in China, and know that he would be a good asset to any team or employer in the future. I wish him, and his clients, all the best in their future endeavours.

Feeling confident about my move to China!

From the beginning, Dan from Teach English Global was so personable and helpful whilst helping me figure out what I wanted to get out of my China experience. All of the preparation leading up to my move (in one week!) has been smooth and has helped me feel nothing but positive about this next phase in my life. Finally, although I haven't started the job yet, my communications with my school's team and how I'm hoping my experience with them will go (based on first impressions) showcases the high standards Teach English Global has regarding which schools they associate with and send their teachers to.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
At one point I wasn't sure if I could find a school with Teach English Global (due to over-applying to other organisations too early and narrowing my own number of opportunities). However, in the end, Dan was patient enough to continue looking for me and was able to find a contract that didn't compromise on any of the things I wanted to gain out of this experience.
Pros
  • The sheer number of communications I had with Dan (the CEO himself).
  • How smooth the process has been for me.
  • Contract negotiation possibilities.
Cons
  • None.
