Teaching Nomad

Teaching Nomad was incredibly helpful in my wife and my job search. We learned about the program through a friend that previously used the program to successfully find teaching positions, and we are glad we took his advice. Teaching nomad was very prompt and patient with us throughout the job search process and showed a great deal of professionalism. The initial interview and providing of information was easy, and teaching nomad used that information to help us a apply for jobs we were interested in. We quickly received interviews with companies and ended the process with our first choice position. Teaching nomad made the job search as easy as possible for us and we would recommend their services to anyone wishing to teach in other countries!

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
We would have worked with teaching nomad earlier to start the document authentication process for Chinese work visas.

Impressed by Teaching Nomad's Services!

I've been teaching abroad for about five years, and I'm very happy with the services and support Teaching Nomad has provided during my search for employment in China. This has definitely been the most positive, friendly recruitment experience I've had!

My placement consultant, Madison, was patient and knowledgeable, answered all of my questions in a timely manner, and guided me through all steps of the screening, interviews, contract review process, etc. Utilizing her expertise, she explained pertinent details to ensure my applications moved smoothly through each respective school's hiring procedures. Ultimately, I found the position which best matched my criteria and received support during the complicated visa process.

I would 100 percent recommend Teaching Nomad's services for anyone looking for professional, reliable and efficient support in securing a teaching job abroad.

Excellent Experience!

My placement specialist Darrah was fantastic! I felt like I was able to be relaxed over the course of finding a teaching job in China (which happened very quickly with Darrah's help). The overall experience was painless and every person I had any contact with at Teaching Nomad was professional and very supportive. They really do walk you through every element of the application process and finding the school that's right for you. I really could not recommend them more for teaching overseas. The school they found for me was almost a perfect fit right off the jump. They clearly have a very good relationship with the schools they work with to place teachers. My teaching position is starting in Shanghai on May 25th 2019 and I could not be more excited!

Outstanding service

The process of looking for a job in China is not only time consuming, it is daunting because you have no idea if the school's sales pitch is true. Having worked in a training centre that oversold, I was weary and sceptical of landing another ine of those!

Being recommended by a friend to Teaching Nomad was the best thing ever! My placement consultant, Lauren, was super involved at every process. What's also great about the agency is that they do their best to match you as closely as possible to what you want, in an area you desire and so forth!

They also have occasional job fairs that sets them apart. There you get to potentially be set up with an interview, meet-and-greet potential employers and get as much information as needed! That's where I managed to secure my next job and I am more than happy with the school!

Teaching Nomad is reputable, knows what they are doing and gives the best service!

What would you improve about this program?
The program doesn't need any improvement in my opinion. They have done a lot of work in understanding this market and needs analysis of teachers.

I highly recommend traveling nomad!

Traveling Nomad has been nothing but wonderful to me and my husband. We worked with Mike and he was very quick, kind, and helpful. Any questions we had were answered quickly and many helpful resources were provided to us. We are now settled in ShangHai and we love it! The group we are working for is Kids Castle, so far they’ve been good. ShangHai is super clean, super beautiful, super safe and there is always loads to do.

Great Service

My consultant - June - was a constant and consistently helpful individual who walked me through the process from start to finish. I now have a good job at a great school with an impressive benefits package. I really recommend teaching nomad and I'm glad I used their service. I would also mention that if you complete their TEFL training they will reimburse you for the cost two months after you secure your first position and they vet the schools you will apply to.

What would you improve about this program?
It was comprehensive from beginning to end. No suggestions or improvements.

Can't Wait to get to work!

I have been working with Teaching Nomad for less than a month, the placement consultant, Mike was very helpful from the first interview until I was given my contract. I did not feel like I was going about this alone. No matter what question I had he was always willing to answer the questions. He understands that this a big move and was forthcoming with information that I needed to hear. Because of this, I was able to make the right decisions for myself and my family. I am very grateful that I went through Teaching Nomad for my new job and new adventures!

Teacher

I've been extremely impressed with Teaching Nomad. I worked with Ali Jaramillo. She found positions which met and exceeded my specifications. The schools she recommended to me in China were well vetted and stable. Going overseas you worry about what sort of situation you could potentially be walking into. With Ali, I felt a great deal of trust. She listened to what I was looking for in a position and delivered multiple options in multiple cities. In addition to working with Ali, I talked with Brett Isis about enrolling in the Teacher Now program. Brett is one of the most knowledgeable people I've talked with on the future of overseas teaching and the Byzantine visa process which is China. If you have a chance, I can not recommend enough working with these two individuals.

Questions & Answers

At this time, many schools in China are hiring from overseas and feel confident they will be able to secure working visas for overseas hires. We would encourage you to begin getting your documents authenticated now so you are prepared for the visa application.

Hello Erik, most of the English teaching roles posted on our site require candidates from native English speaking countries. However we do have subject teacher positions for non-native speakers if they have experience teaching that subject. We also have TEFL course + job placement opportunities in many countries that don't require the candidates to be native speakers. You can learn more about...

Yes! A teaching degree is not required to teach abroad. In many cases experience and/or a TEFL certification is an adequate qualification. We place couples all the time!

In such a case we would recommend the individual to contact the authorities to report the assault. This would include local police as well as the consulate or Embassy of your country. Of course we would never work with a school or organization that allowed an assault to occur.
