Amazing Experience

I applied through Travel and Teach just to see where I stood in the process of being able to teach and ended up with an interview a few days later. The whole process was so quick, but Shane was so hopefully throughout the whole process. He answered any and all of my questions and concerns which was so hopeful since my whole life did a complete 180 in a months time. He was so helpful and even after I landed in Korea he was available for me whenever a situation occurred. I definitely would recommend and have recommended Travel and Teach to my friends.

Very good recruiting agency and Niko is the best!

The process to become a teacher in Korea is hectic, but travelandteach helped the entire way. I was able to land a job without my TEFL, but I feel out of sheer luck and Niko. I would recommend that they would have a better checklist for new teachers based on the legal documents and timeline. It took me almost 3 months to procure every document and it was not cheap. Other than that is was a great experience and I hope I could use travel and teach in the future.

Love them a lot!

Thanks

Not recommend the apostille company, they were not helpful. Go to the SOS in your state.

South Korea

I don't really have any stories yet. I have been sick and the only thing i have energy for is work. I am getting better and I think I will have more stories later in the week. I do have a small story.

One day I was teaching a class and Ranie teacher came in and asked my to help her for five minutes. So I went out in to the hall and I helped bring in some food. It turns out that one of the students in the class had a birthday or scored high a test. I heard to different reason why we were having a party in class. It was nice to sure food with my students.

What would you improve about this program?
While I was going through the process of completing all of the necessary documents, I think it would have been more efficient if Niko, my adviser to let me know what was the next step after what I was currently working on. That way I could have prepared for it in advance and finish the process sooner. It is a long process and can be very confusing for someone who had never done it before.

Teaching in South Korea: Once in a lifetime experience!

My name is Priscilla. I am currently writing this review from my apartment in South Korea (Daegu). I feel so grateful and blessed to have this experience that I felt the need to share my story with Travel and Teach:

Graduating this year with a B.E.D., I knew I wanted my first teaching experience to be abroad. I did not have the money to travel during my time in school, so I always made a promise to myself that when I get my diploma I would fly out of the country! I started to do research to know where I wanted to go. Since my childhood, I have always been interested by Africa and South America, but the idea of going to Asia never came to my mind. Realizing this, I thought: "I need to go to Asia!!!! " I then started my research and two countries came up : Japan and South Korea. My conclusion was that both had great working conditions, but it was wisest to go to South Korea if I wanted to save up some money for my masters. (The cost of living in Japan is higher!!)

The next step was to find a legitimate recruiting company. After a lot of research, I found Travel and Teach. The first thing that caught my attention was that they had affiliations with different Universities in Canada. Now, this is the first time that I saw this in my research and I thought this was very impressive because if Universities trust this organization with their students, it means that it is LEGIT. I called two of those Universities and they confirmed that they were working with Travel and Teach. I instantly knew that I wanted them to be my recruiter. The application process was very easy and straightforward. My recruiter was so nice and intentional. Having taught himself in South Korea made it very helpful because he could answer all my questions.

I have been teaching in Daegu for one month now and I am enjoying myself to the fullest. My apartment is situated in a safe area (which is super important for me as a woman!!!) I was fortunate to teach in a private school. I loooove my students. My co-workers are so helpful and caring. Overall, I could not have asked for more. I keep on thanking my recruiter because he did an amazing job by finding this teaching position. So, once again THANK YOU NIKO!!!

Hope this review helped to clarify your decision to teach abroad. I leave you with the wise words of a world-renowned scholar:

"You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who'll decide where to go..."

Great company!

I definitely wouldn't have made it Korea without Travel and Teach - at least not as easily! My recruiter was very helpful as well as prompt. He was available to answer all questions and at anytime, and that was really comforting to know as I prepared to move. Travel and Teach places you with a school, walks you through all the paperwork, sets up your flight, and provides a useful and thorough info packet about Korea. Any bumps along the way, and my recruiter helped me figure it out. I've been really happy in Korea, and I owe it all to Niko and Travel and Teach! Thanks!

Travel&Teach was with me every step of the way!

Travel and Teach Recruiting provides the utmost service for ESL teachers! T&T is extremely helpful with regards to job placement, visa application, and flight planning. Now, I spend most of my time teaching the cutest kindergarteners English! I couldn't be happier. I would strongly recommend T&T to anyone that wants to teach English as a second language in the beautiful country of South Korea.

What would you improve about this program?
My recruiter was very helpful and I hope to stay in touch in the future. However, there were times when they confused U.S.A and Canadian regulations concerning visa procedures. For example, recommending F.B.I services through Accurate Biometrics instead of the R.C.M.P in order to obtain a criminal record check. I realize that recruiters deal with a large number of applicants, so I'm sure that was the main cause for confusion.

Also, please note that:

1. Canadians MUST request for their fingerprints to be included with their criminal record check. Otherwise, they will only receive a "vulnerable sector check," which is free of charge and insufficient for the visa process.
2. The cost for a fully detailed R.C.M.P check is $25. Many detachments refuse to accept debit, credit, or cash. So, a money order, which can be obtained from any bank or post office, for the exact amount may be required.
3. In rural provinces, services like these may only be available by appointment and on certain weekdays. For example, fingerprints were ONLY processed on Wednesdays where I'm from and that was non-negotiable.
4. A cleared criminal record check that is sent electronically can be processed in as little as 3 business days. Though, they are normally sent my mail if the applicant lives in a rural area, so it usually takes about 2-4 weeks before the final results are physically in their hands.

Thank you for your help and support!!!! I'm very glad to have chosen T&T :)

Review for Travel and Teach

I started out with the Travel and Teach program with Niko. Niko answered all my questions and worries all the time. The TEFL program was very rigorous and prepared me for teaching in South Korea. Since I have arrived in Korea I have had interesting experiences including going to a cat cafe, singing korean karaoke and old people trying to kill me with carts at e-mart. The program was exceptional and and I have recommended it to my friends who are interested.

What would you improve about this program?
I really can't think of anything.

Travel and Teach at Swaton

It has been a long process of working to get a teaching position in South Korea. Travel and Teach, especially Shane at Travel and Teach, helped the long process go smoothly. Any small bump or confusion along the way on our part was fixed and simplified. We are so happy that we were able to receive our positions and work in Korea. The students are amazing at the school. I can't wait to see them all everyday. I would definitely recommend this position to anyone interested in teaching English and working abroad.

Questions & Answers

Hi Cazedi, Unfortunately the Korean government requires people to have a BA in order to get a working visa.

HI Leila, There are only 7 countries that South Korea will grant teaching visas to. They are: Canada, the US, the UK, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand and Australia. If you are not a citizen of one of these countries, there unfortunately is no chance for you to get a teaching visa for Korea.

Hi Angel, Yes, we are still active :) I don't see your application, so please feel free to submit it again here: https://www.travelandteachrecruiting.com/apply-now/

Hi Alicia, You only need to have a Bachelor's degree in order to teach in Korea, so age isn't a factor.
